I run in luna mono gordo’s everyday , 10 miles a day on Colorado trails. Never a blister, hot spot or sweaty smelly feet 🦶 . Makes running a new adventure . The only good problem is people stop to ask you about running in sandals.👍🏻😇
I enjoy the looks I get for running in sandals. It's a look that says people think I'm crazy haha
Winged or retro?
Great video 🏃♀️ I’ve been running in my Leadville trail - Luna sandals for a few weeks now Awesome experience. Yesterday I ran in the sand on beach - also felt great. Light is freedom 🏃♀️
Awesome! I'm glad you like them! I still run in mine.
I just got those, do you recommend lotion? Or any type of ointment?
I've never heard of the Luna Sandals before, but definitely reminded me of the Vibram five-finger from a long time ago. If they get the job done with no blisters, then definitely no complaints from me!
I agree! I love them!
The Leadville is pretty decent on paved road as well after it breaks in and conforms to your foot. Definitely have to play with the straps to get the heel portion tight enough and also adjust the front strap portion for your preferred angle across the forefoot. The tech strap is a must have for running for me. No matter how well I adjusted the straps the heel would always come down.
Got the retro middle bears the other day and just walking around the house in them, Im noticing that the heel is gonna take some experimentation. At one point I did the opposite of what seems intuitive and loosened them, allowing the strap to be able to rest a bit higher up on my heel. Im gonna see if that combined with the straps will help keep the heel locked. I like the idea of the tech straps but not so much how they slide up and down the heel strap. Almost feel like the heel strap should have small - - - - cutouts like those, that the tech straps can go through. Promised myself Id break em in first before I started altering them😂
I still have an issue with the heel straps sliding down. Even with the tech straps. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. But honestly, it's not enough for me to stop wearing them.
@@JeremyBenfield you know, I had thought the heel straps were an optional thing for more technical terrain but they have proven to be necessary.
I don't think I've watched a video about running in sandals before, except for maybe the odd clip from a Born to Run interview. They look well suited to warm climates.
I love running in them. I'll wear them as long at its around or above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. They'll also good for wet days and creek crossings since that eliminates drying out wet shoes!
And thanks for watching!
Lunas are fantastic! Earth runners are my other go-to running sandals.
I haven't ran in those yet but I'll have to check them out!
Another great video my friend, as another small youtuber I absolutely love watching what you do... Keep up your great hard work!!
Thank you!
I have also had the same exact issues with these sandals. I do love them but they are not perfect. People look at me weird but it feels so good to feel so free running without enclosed shoes. It took a couple of weeks to really break them in. I also went swimming with them on in the ocean. The straps held and dried quickly.
I think the looks I get are a part of the fun! But I do really enjoy them.
100%% you finish the run with the skunk!!! Love it! Also can't believe you run in sandals that flat!! great review!
It's really like running barefoot with a piece of rubber between you and the ground. It's just a new type of experience!
Sounds awful!!! 😂🤣😂
@@myBSlife LOL It's really not that bad
Great review , it is my first time knowing there is such sandal for running
I was shocked the first time I heard about it but now I love it.
*COOL. Can't Wait for your next AMAZING Contents. Keep it going*
How do I get random comments popping up after so long?
Nice video. Thank you.
@@mrfrm1975 Thanks for watching!
Great review! Im woth ya on taking the time to learn how to get them dialed in
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing, sounds like this sandals give good support!
I don't know if I would use the word support but they definitely hug your foot! Thanks for watching!
Love my original Luna Monos..was thinking of the winged edition next but many people say they get blisters so will stick with the retro laces edition, will go for a thicker model with the Oso or Mono Gordo. Thanks for the review it’s good to hear other opinions..
That's interesting about people getting blisters. I loved my mono editions and I never got blisters. Thanks for watching!
Greetings from Greece! I think that all shoes and sandals need a breakdown period! Who trail runs 10 miles with out-of -the box sandals??
Hello! I guess I do 🤷🏼♂️ haha
I have the OC Flaca which looks like yours but doesn't have tech strap. I wonder if you can buy that strap. Do you get little rocks often? I am still learning to run in sandals on some days as change up to trail shoes.
I'm pretty sure you can just buy the tech strap from Luna Sandals. I do get rocks once in awhile. It's just apart of the experience I guess haha. Just keep at it! I find it enjoyable but still run in shoes once in awhile.
I've never ran in sandals but I know a few that do. I am not familia with the Luna brand but they look cool.
The guy who started and runs the company is a guy from the book Born to Run. He's passionate about sandals. It's also a great book!
Pretty incredible that you are able to run in sandals. You don't get any blisters from the straps over time? Also doesn't gravel and wood get between your foot and the sole when you are on trails? Btw great honest first look at the Lunas. Glad you got the fit dialed in.
I love trail running in sandals. I've never had a blister or stubbed my toe. And I rarely ever get anything in between them and my feet. To the point where I can almost say never. The only negative thing is that you really need to run on your forefoot and it kills the calves! Thank you!
Long term how you liking them? Do you recommend for sharp gravel and mega chunky trails?
I still like them. I don't have any issues with sharp rocks. You can feel the pressure of a sharp rock but it's not painful. As far as chunky trails, they're perfectly fine.
Hi, do you still have an issue with the heel straps sliding down ? I've just ordered my Leadville Pacer yesterday and was going through your review the 2nd time & came across your reply to one of the comments.
Hello! Not really, no. It just took a little bit to fine tune the straps. I just did 11 miles in these and no issues with the heel strap at all.
@@JeremyBenfield thanks, sounds good. 👍🏼 Looking fwd to give mine a try.
I think you'll like them
@@JeremyBenfield Been a couple of days while I've been using it at home trying to adjust the fit, loving them and it doesn't feel like I need the tech strap. Tomorrow will be my first long run with my Lunas and I'll carry the tech straps just incase. 🙂
@@topsthepops484 Let me know how it goes! Personally, I love the tech straps. I didn't use them either when I ran in my Mono Winged Edition but I could have if I had them.
I was going to ask if you blister at all from the sandals and how much they move around. But looks like you figured them out! Also, that water pump looks amazing after a run
With my other sandals, I would get blisters on long runs. But my feet are good after this run! I just need to fine tune the straps to get a perfect snug fit. And I've been mountain biking these trails forever. That well is a life saver!
@@JeremyBenfield I bet it is! Gotcha, glad you found a shoe that doesn't blister you up!
Running trails in sandals! That is interesting!! I feel like I’d rip my big toe off on a decent on some of the mountain trails i run if i wore those lol. New to the channel man. Smashing that subscribe button 👍
Haha People think I'd stub my toes but I have never done it. Yet. Thanks for the sub! I subbed back!
Jeremy Alan lol maybe you never will. thanks man! I’m happy to be a sub for your awesome channel 💪
Wow nice sandals.
New friend here sending my support see you around.
Thank you!
Im
Watching your another videos.. God bless and keep safe.God bless
Thank you!
How well do these do in wet conditions?
Very well! I've never had an issue.
Look like a nice place to run👍🏽
It is absolutely beautiful!
Still crazy to think about running over 2 hours in sandals!
It's different for sure!
When's the last time you ran in conventional running shoes? Or if you do, how often do you run in conventional running shoes vs. sandals?
I only trail run in sandals. All my other running I do in conventional running shoes. Actually, I've never tried trail running in trail shoes. I think I may have to give that a shot in the near future!
Can I wear these if I run on concrete? I can't make up my mind between the Luna's or Bedrock Cairn PRO sandals. Thanks!!
You absolutely can! I have here and there. But mostly when I'm minimalist running on concrete I'm barefoot.
Like #7! Beautiful share! Nice video! 😍😍👍👍

I’m joining the barefoot revolution and I’m getting a pair of Luna sandals so my question is are they true to size and what do you do if you stub your toe?
Welcome to the dark side! 😁 But seriously, I love being barefoot and wearing sandals. Mine were true to size but Luna Sandals has a sizing chart. I believe you can even print out a template to hold up to your feet to check sizing. And as for "What to do if you stub your toe?" Put ice on it? 😂 I have never stubbed my toe. Ever. But maybe I just have great self awareness 🤷🏼♂️😊
@@JeremyBenfield nice
Do you still run in these?
I do! Yes! My recent 15k (I posted a video about my experience) was ran in these.
Superb very Nice 👌🌺🌠
Thank you!
Nothing like running with the smell of skunk
Haha That would have been horrible.
Luna rookie mistakes.
I've definitely learned a lot since then.
