i work at a land fill and seen this really cool looking rc gas truck..took it home and see that the spot the motor bolts to is bent and the gears wont mesh properly..never been around rc trucks but allready got a turnigy radio cause i play around with drones...think im gona fix it and get into the hobby but i know very little about them..from what i can tell the reciever is all there with the servos. need a battery and some fuel then fix the motor deck bent up ..plus see if my pro drone radio can bind up with the right module
Hey man! Great vid. I'm having some problems with my Big Rock. Motor was rattling and stopped right away. Full battery, checked the mesh, plate is not bent, found a pebble in the fan for the ESC and removed it, greased the bearings, put back the motor real tight with loctite and it still acts funny. Can give it a little throttle but increasing it makes it stop running. If you got time I would be really glad if you just can watch my latest shorts here and see if you can give some advice. If not, it's cool :) Thanks!
Where did you buy that fixed motor mount plate? I can't find it anywhere, it's all back ordered. I just had the same problem on my month old big rock. The spir and pinion both stripped, I took it apart and the mount was bent exactly like yours is. I think these adjustable motor mounts are a flawed design and I want the old fixed one! I contacted arrma through my local hobby shop and they agreed to send me the whole motor mount assembly and a new pinion/spur. They tried to blame it on me for bashing it too hard at first but I think it's insane this design is flawed in a way that it can bend like that with normal use. I don't jump 30 feet, I drive pretty conservatively and this still happened to me. It makes me question how good arrmas are overall.
@Cadger Christmas Light Show I ordered it from Great Hobbies in Canada but it was back ordered 3 months ago and I’m still waiting for it now. The one I have in the video is out of my Senton and that’s the reason why I bought the Granite because I already had the Senton and 99% of the parts are interchangeable and I have many extra parts. If you do break the lower suspension arms I suggest buying the RPM ones so far I’ve been bashing them and no problem with them they have a lot more flex in them
RC Dave yeah, I have a v2 granite as well and it has the fixed motor mount. No problem with that at all and I bought it used and owned it longer than my Big Rock. Like I said I think the adjustable mount is just a crap design, but sadly it looks like they may have stopped manufacturing the fixed one from what I can tell. The only fixed ones you can currently buy are ones where the WHOLE assembly is aluminum and it costs like 50-60 bucks.
@@CadgerChristmasLightShow Nice at least you have one I just keep changing mine between trucks and Yeah the adjustable one is a stupid design I have seen many fail so far. I destroyed my Senton chassis and body crashing it and nothing happened to the motor mount lol every day I check if it is in stock at the hobby store even though I do have one on order but if they do have extras I will send you a message and let you know it does say that when it becomes available they will have it.
@Funcentric ARA310874 is the part number for the pre-drilled motor mount But it may be discontinued I ordered one 3 months ago and I’m still waiting for it and I have had lots of other parts come from Arrma since then
@Kenneth Rich Yeah now it is discontinued when I ordered it it was not but it never came in LOL I just switch the power module between my granite and my Senton that has the fixed motor plate and I still haven’t bent that one yet
@@rcdaveshobbies Roger that. I just got my first Arrma (Granite) and the first upgrade I did was put in the HR adjustable motor plate (because the fixed is no longer available). What I did do however, is go to my local ace hardware and scored several SS "star washers" with external teeth. Those washers combined with a little blue loctite ensures that motor stays in place. I'm surprised not every Arrama owner has not done the same.
@@kennethrich2107 nice I also put washers in behind the screws and Loctite on them it should have come from factory like that with the adjustable motor mount
The motor mount doesn't look like it bent where the slotted holes are it's just the type of metal they use isn't very good. HR makes a good motor mount and it's slotted so you can use all pinions, it's not on back order either.
@Chris Howard I’m pretty sure the motor mount bent from all the backflip attempts I was doing and just sending it 10 feet or more in the air and crashing. I’ve never had a problem with the motor mounts on my Senton because it does not get sent in the air very much LOL I don’t know the part number but it is the version 2 motor mount that I am using
@Dustin Kile i’ve had no problem with the metal spur gear it’s just a little more noisier than the plastic spur gear and no problems with the pre-drilled motor plate but I have been mostly driving it at the RC track
@@rcdaveshobbies so I have the metal gear and every one I know keeps saying that I will kill difs if I install it. Even tho none of them have done it that's just what they say. That's why I wanted to see how yours had turned out. Thanks
@@dustinkile7705 no problem. I’ve never had any diff problems with either the senton or granite and I’ve used the metal spur in both I just take the whole power module out and switch it in between cars for whichever car I am running at the time 👍

Geez I am glad I saw your video, I don't like the new 'adjustable motor mount (Problems galore) on the new V3 Granite, so I went looking online for the old style with the marked holes ALUMINUM FIXED MOTOR MOUNT SET #AR310874 -- I can't find it anywhere, Not even Ebay has any!! Wow, sad situation. I loved the old style with the holes... :+( I hope I can find some as backups, no way will I use the new 'adjustable mount on my Granite BLX V1, Thanks great appreciated video!

Marked pinion location on the motor mount plate yes great idea Arrma!
I hammerd te motor mound straight
What s part number non adjustable mount
That part is no longer made. It is discontinued.

@rcdaveshobbies tought so I prefer non adjustment ones there are few after market doing them
