it's really not, the background vocals are what makes the song what it is, and without them the song feels so empty

@@didsomeoneaskforanegg2168 The energy here is unmatched. The live instrumentation along with Kendrick's more aggressive delivery makes it way better than the unmastered track. This is one of his best performances easily, I think I've never seen a TV live performance this flawless. Also the transition between untitled 08 and 02 is just so clean...
God, I remember getting goosebumps while watching this six years ago before the album dropped, and I come back to the feeling every year. Kendrick is one in a million. I'm very excited to hear the new album. Just 9 days left!

For me this is the pinnacle of rap. The intensity, wordplay, meaning, synchronization with the instruments, the story behind the albuns, the album concepts, the message of revolution, the hard work that Kendrick embodys in every single work he does is just unbelievable. Its a role model to rappers all over the world, and for people who are inspired by true talent and a hell of hard work behind such a performance. He is the king of rap. Compared to the majority of rappers today, its just impossible to compete with him.

Can we just talk about his flow for a second? Everyone is looking for something conceptual within his lyrics, but when it's stripped down to pure rapping skills, I have never heard someone so technical and sonically incredible at the same time. All of his hand motions in this performance are visual contextualizations of him memorizing lyrics on a page. DAMN will never be To Pimp a Butterfly, but witnessing someone so good at rapping that he's almost bored of it is something we're lucky to be a part of and we'll never fully appreciate

I find myself revisiting this video monthly. It’s like a pick me up whenever I feel emotionally drained. This encapsulates the idea that you as a person are limitless. Thank you Kendrick for all the effort and passion you put into your work. Truly is the greatest rapper to live

I've watched this about 20 times, but his intensity and passion is all over this performance .

I think that what was on Untitled Unmastered was what Kendrick had before this. Kendrick decided to perform it in this way because like you, he feels like this is the most impactful version. That's why it's called UU, their B-sides and in other words, incomplete.

It wouldn’t go along with the story he was telling on tpab. Every song on the album has a story or meaning that leads to the conversation with 2pac at the end of mortal man

And people say Hip Hop is dead. Smh. They don't actually search around to hear good music like this video. They just turn on the radio and start getting mad.

Sometimes I just have to pause and appreciate the fact that I lived to experience Kendrick Lamar. Truly one of the greatest of all time.
