That’s their normal price. They have constant sales, bundle deals, and other discounts. It’s one of the things that drives me crazy about them, CT, and Paul Frederick
You're saving a lot of people like me A LOT of hassle, by doing these types of videos. I decided that for 2019,I would put dollars spent for a higher volume of cheaper items towards s lower volume of higher quality garments instead. Videos like this help me to do that. Thank you, John.
The higher armholes on the super slim fits make them so much better imo. The arms have more of a bespoke look and don't pull at your sides when you move them. I get all my shirts and jackets with extremely high armholes now to the point where they lightly press into the armpit. They are a little harder to put on and take off but so much more elegant and functional.
Great review-thanks! I'm a special ed teacher and need clothes that look professional in our endless meetings throughout the week but can also be tossed if a student is having an off day and decides my shirt is gonna bear the brunt of it.
Timely video, I just took the leap with them and bought 23 shirts in styles standard, slim fit and fitted. All fit really well and with shirt stays for when tucked in the collars sit really nicely. Even untucked the collars are nice and sit well. Across the board the materials are high quality say compared to a Macy's shirt but vary with the pricing of the shirt. (I have the first white shirt you showed off but with a flourish on the cuffs and collars...outstanding material). I agree that they have a wide range of options in terms of materials and stretch that can seem confusing but because those also grade along with price if you tier yourself to the pricier shirts you will definitely get the more quality combination of traits. Better materials, better stretch/fit. So far having worn a classic, slim and fitted the slim is ideal ... for my athletic frame the fitted makes me appear slightly buff which is great (not muscle shirt looking). I waited until they had a sale on their pricier shirts that brought my per shirt price down to 39...this is probably the best you could do to get the better quality material and fit for a lower price. I bought them all in 15 1/2 neck but will be going with 16 for my next set.
One unusual feature of TML sizing: unlike many other brands that offer sleeve length to the nearest inch starting at 32", TML offers 33", 34.5", and 36". If none of these is right for you, they will alter to your choice of 1/2" increments , for an extra $15/shirt. This is a great option for guys who need shorter sleeve lengths: they can get you to 29.5".
That green shirt looks great on you and the fit is good. But blue seems to be *your* color.. even if the fit isn't as nice. The pink didn't seem worth the cost.. though I did like the shirt's collar. Fantastic review as always.
These shirts feel and look great. I get more compliments in my TM Lewin Shirts than my Brooks Brothers and they fit better. Brooks Milano Fit is similar to Fitted TM Lewin. Can’t beat the price either. Great review.
Hey Jon, I’ve always had issues with white dress shirts being see-through; kind of like the ones from this video. What brands do recommend for white dress shirts? As always, thanks so much for the awesome content. Keep it up man.
I'll be interested to hear his answer. I have several white dress shirts from Twillory, Mizzen and Main, and Nordstrom Men's Shop and none of them are "see-through" at all.
I have a shirt and a Hermes-looking tie coming from TM Lewin. As a big dude its hard to buy shirts in general, let alone ones that are 100% or near 100% cotton. Not sure how it will fit though compared to other big and tall clothes. But if it does fit well 30 bucks is a steal, I generally pay 30-50 for shirts that are a mix of cotton, polyester.
Do you happen to have collar dimensions? They tend too look rather small in the photos as well as in this video, I mean compared to usual collar sizes; on their website Cordone1956 provides measurements for their collar options so it's possible to compare collar heights and tip sizes. I'm not saying tips have to be 12 cm long but most classic makers, Marol, G. Inglese, Finamore etc. tend to have bigger tips, at least judging from TM's photos.
You definitely need the slightly longer sleeve length. Those 34-35 about inch short and that's before any minor shrinkage. I think the slim bit too bulky but the super fitted was much too slim. Fitted look best imo.
Lol..My very first Apolo shirt from Ministry of Supply arrived with a huge stain. I wound up texting customer service and I ultimately returned it in person at the store in Manhattan. I bought another 2 shirts while I was there and I fell just short of begging for a discount and I got a big fat GOOSE EGG. So 🚮 I started racking them up on eBay at a huge discount. So a few weeks later I went down there to research. I went to try out the fit on a Velocity suit. They recognized that I was wearing some vintage MOS wears and I told them...yeah, I bought them on eBay. 🤣🤣🤣 They were NOT happy! Just figured I would share that. Question...Quality? Is MOS more quality than TL. Is MOS a better value? Thanks! #bigfan PS. I bought the velocity suit.....Online 👍🏿
great video and nice to hear your thoughts.I picked up 3 shirts of Fitted Slim Non Iron on my trip to Dubai.Look forward to wearing them in a suit.I also liked Hawes & Curtis, perhaps you want to try that next? Keep 'em coming.Peace!
I would like to know how they would hold up after a washing (some shrink) and maybe short stay at the tailor, they will probably disappoint less than expected. But how will we know, are you going to keep all of them? I tried to sell a TM Lewin shirt (16-36)(arms still too short for me), a 2ply which is very nice, but I can't lure any buyers as they're online already pretty affordable.
Is it normal for a spread collar to "fly"(not touch chest) like that when worn open until you wash it a few times? Also are there any brands that fit like TM lewin Super fitted i.e 15.5 collar has a 41" pit to pit?(My chest is a good bit smaller that it should be for my collar size)
Didn't like Lewin's cuffs, the three side flaps (not sure if that's what they are called) and the cuff length had me feeling like I was wearing a pirate shirt. Charles Tyrwhitt is my go to.
Lewin makes some nice quality stuff but I've found their fits to be unworkable for those of us with a bigger build - slim fit is just too slim for me, regular is way too big. Tyrwhitt is much better in this regard. Lewin's collars are better though!
Do you know of any companies who do suit cloning ? … I have two full custom tailored suits… They are amazing… They were done by a local tailor in Southern California… They were very very expensive… I’m trying to research companies who will take an existing suit and cut the exact measurements… I’m 6’3” 220 pounds… My neck is an inch back and my arms swing 3/4 of an inch forward (makes it impossible to properly tailor a suit with a window pane) ... None of the made to measure suits work for me… Of course I can’t buy anything off the rack… have you ever looked into a company that will clone an existing suit
Fabric aside, the Super Fit fits you really well. I have noticed that some of the fitted shirts you model--even one that was bespoke--are too tight, resulting in horizontal pulling across your chest. I don't see that here and that is a good thing.
I'll be surprised if he likes them better than Tie Bar. I own both and Tie Bar are generally better, in my opinion. The Tie Bar shirts remind me of Nordstroms Men's Shop brand, which is pretty good quality. TML are ok. I don't find myself wearing them much, anymore.
Olorin thanks! Good to know I also like tie bar, they are good for the price. I just like the fit on these, so if the quality of the shirt is close maybe it’s worth a try. For me also has to be non-iron and sounds like that one is more expensive and doesn’t have the quality
Joe Valencia I currently have two TML shirts. One is non-iron, the other is one of their higher end Egyptian cotton shirts (which is not non-iron). The non-iron one is a thinner material (my t-shirt will show through) and the other shirt is a much thicker, heavier fabric that feels much higher quality. They remind me a bit of Twillory, in that some shirts are much higher quality than others and it's not easy to predict which one is going to be better. Both Amazon Button Down and Nordstrom Men's Shop have an extra trim fit that might work. If you have the budget, some of the best slim fitting shirts are Mizzen and Main. Ledbury too.
Olorin thank you! That’s good to know. Yes I like my mizzen and main, the fit is great. I’ll check out nordstom for my dress shirts that I will wear with a tie
Here’s a trick: Google “Charles Tyrwhitt” and one of the first results is a TM Lewin link with the 3 for $99 offer. This trick also works for Charles Tyrwhitt if you google “TM Lewin.”
loved the review. You're killing me with the bare chest try on. I tried TMLewin and like the fabric and prices but Im a 16x34, which they dont have. The 35 sleeve length is too long for me.
Used to like this brand quality at a good price but now the just produce non iron stock.I can't wear that stuff it irritates my skin its soaked in formaldehyde and washes out ..
We’re the $29 shirts a sale? The cheapest I found online were $69
That’s their normal price. They have constant sales, bundle deals, and other discounts. It’s one of the things that drives me crazy about them, CT, and Paul Frederick
Try Googling a competitor's brand. You will usually get a link to the $29 deal.

Agreed! Get those armholes right, gents!
Thanks for your comment. I was thinking the very same, especially the part about the shirts looking more bespoke in fit and design. I agree with that.

Hi, thanks for the video. Realise some time ago. Would you say that the TML fitted is the same as the CT extra slim? Thanks
We need a Twillory fit comparison (Traditional, Tailored, Extra Trim) and a discount coupon code, haha. Keep up the good work.
These used to be my go to shirts before I went custom. I would pick up 5 or 6 when they were on sale for $29. Not bad shirts if you are slender.
Yes, good for price but I’m totally spoiled by anything custom
@@The_Kavalier Same here. It has ruined almost any OTR items for me 😅

Fitted TML has similar fit through the chest as Brooks Milano, but runs a couple of inches trimmer at the waist.

For thick white dress shirts (not see through) look for oxford weave or twill fabric

Just got a few of the super fitted and like them a bit more than the CT ones I own. The fabric feels nicer and the fit is better.
Super Fitted runs about the same as CT recently-introduced Super Slim Fit, which is ~2" trimmer at the waist than their Extra Slim Fit.
You definitely need the slightly longer sleeve length. Those 34-35 about inch short and that's before any minor shrinkage. I think the slim bit too bulky but the super fitted was much too slim. Fitted look best imo.

Majority of my dress shits come from TM Lewin. I like the fact that the shirts are really long and it is hard for them to come untucked.
They don't offer shirts at 29$ anymore. The cheapest you can go is 49$ as part of a multi-buy.
I guess we can blame your channel for that 😜
The fabric on the blue and pink are my favorites.. but none of them fit as they should imo.
Better or worse than Buttoned Down?
Buttoned Down's trimmest fit is similar to TML Slim Fit. They don't have anything to compare to Fitted or Super Fitted.
