I am normally such a cynical person but I ran a 10k without telling anyone, so there was no one in the crowd who knew me - at one point some people in the crowd were just cheering on strangers and calling out the names of runners they didn't know... it was so uplifting and it helped a lot! So I support cheering at strangers :)
Bahh I love hearing this from the runners perspective! It was such a wild moment of connection with strangers for me, so I love to hear that it was that for u. Maybe I’ll catch you at your next run ❤️and next time, tell your people and be proud!!
“I don’t know any of you guys, but I wish you all the best!!” is a mentality we should 100% adopt for all time. Now. Immediately. Because what IS life except a very long marathon?
I'm never offended by Caroline, but she took a lovely idea and with the (paraphrasing here), "Even the shit ones. We know you suck and you're never going to make it, but even you deserve to believe in yourselves," and made it pretty toxic and so condescending. That's your narcissism talking; you can't be happy for the good ones because you are so competitive, so you low key bully the slow ones, in a backhanded way, to make yourself feel good. F#ck you, Caroline. :) Also, it's "boutique" with a u. Rube. You may as well be the person with that fake Ohio accent if you're going to call it a botique.
I can't thrift. I can't even drive . I have chronic IBS (with oily discharge) so leaving the house without proper protection can be problematic. I am an old lady (40+), and I wish there were a solution. I enjoy feeling fresh and confident. Do you have any suggestions? Many people are talking about this.
@choupette_44 it's kind of different though when vloggers/influencers do it. They make inspirational video's and give advice, so their stuff weighs differently
I worry about Temu. I suspect their low prices are a result of either near-slave labor, cheap materials, both of those, or liquidation. Liquidation feels unlikely. To me, if it’s priced too good to be fair trade and ethically sourced, it probably isn’t.
I came here to say this. It's sickening to think of how shitty the pay and working conditions must be for them to sell that vest for $8, not to mention how they must totally disregard the environment, as well.
I agree. And for me part of the appeal of thrifting is to be able to avoid new items at retailers with ethical and/or environmental concerns, so the promotion on this video in particular was jarring to me.
Yes. I've got one tuber whose absence I notice within a week. But _Carolines_ absence I (we all?) noticed within one day. A saturday (or at least weekend) without her feels unnatural by now. 🤪 Don't know what that says about me.. 😬😶
I'm so glad you took a break but I sure did miss you. I'm a 62 year old grandma and watching your videos just makes me very happy. Much love from Southern California (you were in my neighborhood on your vacation! The South Bay is our very own paradise!)
The thumb nail made me laugh right out loud. Fantastic. My husband did triathlons and all the things (3 day bike races, half marathons, 10 K’s ….) and his brother runs all the big marathons and I loved it. So much. That whole community are the people I want around me when the apocalypse happens. Seriously. They’d give you the shirt off their backs and would make you believe anything is possible. I miss it. Just being at one of those events restores all hope for humanity. That yellow lamp shade sparked instant joy in me. I didn’t know I needed such a thing, but apparently I really do. I had to go back and rewatch everything that came after that because I realized I had spaced out imagining all the places that lamp shade would look so good in my house 😂
The edits of the bag poses. Hell yeah Paige. Love her editing your videos, she’s got great timing. You 2 are a dream team. Great finds- very supportive of the lil wood bowl
When I’m thrifting I have to keep repeating the mantra “just because I like it and it is a good deal does not mean that I have to buy it.” I am trying to be more intentional with my purchases because it is too easy to justify buying something that is inexpensive. I need to reduce the clutter and only buy things I absolutely love. I’m sorry that you got that parking ticket!
Caroline you’re amazing. You are such a breath of fresh air on the Tube. I’m 54 and am so inspired by you. You have so much to teach us older girls. Thank you for everything you put into your channel. I appreciate you ❤ from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Thank you for this. Truly my favorite comments are when I hear from different generations - sometimes older than me, and I know some people also watch with their kids. And nothing makes me happier than hearing how these videos just resonate with HUMANS. No other requirement. Thank you for the love ❤
I volunteered once at a marathon, working the finish line, cutting the computer chips off the runner's shoes. It was amazing. Some of them would lean on me while I stooped to cut the chip off. They were sweaty and bloody and euphoric. I never wanted it to end, it was so amazing. Honestly, I think it's a picture of our reception into Heaven! "You're here! You made it! You did so good!!"
Not gonna lie, I was a lil bummed that you didn’t grab the giant flower painting in the first store. I would have strapped that sucker to the roof of my car! 😍 It’s always a good day when you post a new vid, Caroline. You are priceless. ❤
I have the tiny thing condition. I have a large collection of tiny trinkets collected since 18 mos old. Kept them in very large glass vases and recently moved them to a big basket.
I'm literally obsessed with your videos. If I'm feeling like crap... .GONE! Soon as I watch your video I'm instantly in an amazing mood, grinning, confidence boosted, and ready to take on the world. Thank you! Can't wait for the next one! 😁
It is very special the way you cultivate self acceptance/care/improvement without being falsely positive. I just turned 23, and in the last year, I have started learning to take responsibility for my own behaviors and feelings for the first time. Your videos are helpful reminders to meet myself where I am, not take myself too seriously, and embrace the humor in everything. So I guess I just wanted to say thank you! Wish you all the best !! :))
I used to live in Minneapolis and their marathon went right by my house. I absolutely loved sitting on my front step cheering on the runners, especially the slower ones just like you. It was a wonderful day that restored my faith in simple kindness.
I subscribed because I needed help finding my own style moving from a tiny apartment to a big house and figuring how to make it feel like a home I enjoy...but as an older sister, you give me such middle/little sister vibes that listening to you helps me cope living so far from my own sisters 😂 so oddly, thank you
Finding a bunch of stuff you certainly don’t need at all is the beauty of the thrifting treasure hunt. And also why I am not allowed to go thrifting super often….😂😂
Yup. "Thrifting" is my Dh and my weakness. Oh the irony that it is the one thing that can mess up our budget. We need a reward for avoiding garage sales and thrift shops. The reward just can't be a trip to the thrift shop! 😂
Having no expectations is definitely the way to go about thrifting. If you want something very specific right at this moment, you will have to buy it new. If you want to buy it old or used, you will need luck and patience. It took me a good four months to find a dresser for my hallway, and at the end it was my sister in law who found it at a fleamarket. It's old, dingy, green and painted by someone who sucks at painting. But I love it. If you have no expectations, thrifting will be fun just for the experience, even if you come home empty handed. Looking at old, weird stuff is fun.
You CAPTURED how I felt stoppimg by the Boston Marathon 37 or more years ago. I did not want to go watch runners run by...by the end of the day I had no voice from cheering on the river of humanity flowing by. THEN the people at the end: sobbing + cheering. Wow!
not the temu ad... 🙈 I don't trust retailers who have prices so cheap for brand new garments. Someone along the supply chain must be getting exploited.
Love you, love your videos and want you to get sooo many sponsorships, but Temu is fast fashion/decor and it's a bit of a bummer to see. Just since it's Earth Day this came out and you're thrifting really cute/lasting finds and the Temu stuff just goes to sh*t so fast. But love you Caroline!
First off, I love your content and your style. I just have to comment about the sponsor though. I'm getting frustrated with influencers/content creators/anyone supporting brands like Temu. While it may not technically be fast fashion/furniture as it doesn't produce the items, it is clearly promoting gross overconsumption and using fast fashion/furniture companies and exploiting workers. No company that offers THAT much for so little can be an ethical and sustainable company. We cant truly afford companies like this. With the little research I've done that much at least is clear. So I'm a bit disappointed you're taking a sponsorship with them. I still love your content and will continue to support you and your videos. This kinda stuff just gets under my skin, especially on Earth day. (Please feel free to correct me if any of this is false.)
Hey friend I just want to say how much I appreciate this thoughtful and articulate comment, and more than anything how you were able to share constructive feedback in a really helpful way. I can tell you, it’s an incredibly rare skill and I become very aware of that when reading comments. So thank you for what you shared and how you shared it, you’ve definitely given me something to think about and I appreciate it ❤️
@Caroline Winkler thank you for your thoughtful response and consideration! I wasn't sure if you'd see it. I'm glad my comment didn't come across in a hateful/unhelpful way. Truly do value your content and you seem like a lovely person. Sending you love 💕
Just got back from thrifting to find this video. My Goodwill redid their layout and I was asking if there were put-back racks and the woman working thanked me for checking. I told her, ‘you gotta respect the thrifts gods, gotta give good to get good’. She had never heard this!? She started laughing and agreed. Gotta give good to the thrift gods to get good. I wish you all luck on your thrifting adventures.
I also have this “tiny things” condition. Booknooks, legos, doll houses, dioramas… you name it, I love it! My husband once came home with this teeny tiny three ring binder for me. I haven’t though of a use for it yet, but I love it.
So, Caroline, ,I am crying. All day I have felt like the slowest one. The last person to figure anything out. Like, what is the point of slogging forward? Then you said that bit about the people at the end being impressive because they overcame the most. Thank you for that moment of clarity. It really helped me find a better perspective. ❤
I had to skip through the Temu like I do with every RUclipsr these days, but the rest of the vlog was amazing, love your personality! All I can say is do your own in depth research on the company and watch for double charges on your card. Thrifting is everything ❤
Hi Caroline! I'm an older woman (67) retired, no $, no friends. Not compIaining, just stating facts. I do have and am blessed with three wonderful children and believe me, I do understand how very lucky I am. So, that being said... I absolutely love your attitude! Giving the world a big "FU" and telling it like it is. You perk me up, make me laugh and keep me going with every video. Thanks so much for the mental lift you give me. Blessed be.
Hey Nina, congratulations on retirement. Hope you have lots of financially efficient fun. You won’t be the only person in your area who thinks they have no friends…hope you can find each other if you want to. Even if it’s a stitch and bitch club weekly or people to trade extra veggies with, rather than besties forever.
I'm a bit behind you, verging on retirement, not many friends, but family close by. Oh, and now unemployed. Yay me. And one of them family members is a triathlon-er. Go figure. Exercise? What's that? LOL I agree with your assessment of Caroline - she's awesome (and cute as a button, no?). While our style tastes are not very similar (I'm a MCM/Japandi gal) I love her videos! And can't we all use more positivity, upliftedness and laughter in our lives?! Sending you a virtual hug, Nina!
I don't know what this says about me but my immediate thought regarding " rehab tolerance" was in regards to romantic prospects. Like yes, everyone is messed up but some people are just beyond what I can cope/work with right now & I'm sure that's applicable to me for some people! * Yes that top is cute. Such a sunny yellow :-)
Longtime book thrifter here - you can wash book jackets! Go ahead and remove them if you want, it's your bag, but you can use a damp cloth and mild cleaner to gently scrub the book jacket or cover - many turn out like new! You only have to be careful around the very edge where there is exposed paper which shouldn't get wet. But if it does *shrug* let her dry for a bit and bingo bango.
I totally identify with cheering at races for people bringing up the rear. I tutor middle school students for mt job. Its basically the same thing. As a person who is very hard on themself, it ends up infultrating my self-talk, and all of a sudden I believe in myeself for a little while?!? Witchcraft! In a very non-canceling, gentle way, i do want to bring up the irony of thrifting (good for the environment, often employs people who have disabilities or are involved in some sort of support system) and adverising for Temu at the same time. (Its not possible to sell items for this price and have good materials, quality, pay/conditions for workers). I know that you will continue to do you, which I love about you! You model so many positive attributes while being totally real about your boundaries and beliefs. So thank you!
I love thrifting and antiquing and I’m so excited to see a new generation getting into it ❤❤❤ there’s so much wonderful and good quality stuff out there that needs to be loved again!
I love the idea of thrifting as a low cost/sustainable alternative, and I love your videos Caroline! I don't know how to feel about Temu. It looks like it's another Shein, and IDK. I know, I know, we live in a very capitalist society with very murky supply chains and don't know how much it makes sense to single out one particular thing, but yeahh.
I live in Spain and the #1 thing I miss about the U.S. are the amazing thrift stores!!! Always such a fun treasure hunt and such a great way to prevent waste and prolong the lifespan of clothes, decor, furniture, and more. Welcome back from your holiday, Caroline, and thanks for taking us along!
@@sarahbreed6798 Depends on the country. In Germany for example I think thrift stores are common. In Spain there isn't much of a second hand culture. People buy a lot less here and tend to use their things for longer. For clothes, I think mostly they get donated to charity and there is one chain of clothing thrift shops called Humana. For furniture, many rental apartments come furnished so people buy/change their furniture a lot less frequently. There are antique and vintage stores but they are much more expensive than a thrift store. It's starting to change a little, especially with young people and in big cities, but thrifting is still kind of a new concept here.
JA! I saw this video and couldn't stop thinking about the "imagine, dream, live" decoration; thinking it was going to be a craft. Just to find out it is for the Wayfair videos!!! I saw it and I was like "Uh uh uh I know where this came from and what is the secret project she was talking about!!!" haha funny
Regarding you promoting TEMU and accepting their $$$- you've gone right down in my estimation. It's obvious this company sells junk and do we need more junk polluting our planet? What you may not know is that TEMU is able to ship free of charge because China claims 'developing country' status to take advantage of a worldwide postal service agreement that gives poorer countries a break on shipping inorder to be fair. The USPS still has to process and deliver these packages knowing that they lose $$ by doing so. And how do I as a small design company based in the USA, compete with not only cheap labor prices, but also free shipping? If I wanted to ship a cute yellow sweater like the one you purchased from TEMU to a customer in NYC, I would have to pay full shipping. And I certainly could not make it for $15.99. You could not possibly believe this is a company your viewers should patronize with their business.
You just made my rainy day here in Toronto! Your Value Village is WAY better than our local ones. Loved you sharing tips for discernment. Two other things I find I need for thrifting are mind space and energy. Also... I have to say, I LOVE your throwback music at the end!! Welcome back after a well deserved break 😊
Love the yellow vest!🌻 Also, appreciate your comments re: the design details of random pieces that caught your eye. e.g. the arms of the chair, the glossy finish on the dresser, etc.
While I don’t want a pile-on, I’m leaving a comment about Temu as well. Love your content and I do want you to make money for your work, but this isn’t a sponsor I like to see.
I just realized that since you thrift at the place where I donate all my stuff constantly, it’s possible that by some small chance you own something of mine, and that makes me just so happy!
I'm so astounded at the size of thrift stores in the US! It would be like a full time job to thrift over there (dream job btw) The fact you have shopping carts even. Signed an Aussie :)
yes she has a way of getting things from soooo many places and yet it all looks so good together like as if it were all bought from one place that had an amazing designer
I've already commented but I wanna say 2 things... You look BEAUTIFUL in yellow! Love it on you💛 When you were talking about the 'Rehab Tolerance'...it is ABSOLUTELY the thing I had to start thinking about when purchasing anything thrifted. I'd get excited about a certain piece but didn't think about the time, money or work I'd need to put into it (if any). 💜💜
Love your videos! Your fascination with golf course landscaping made me laugh. My husband is a golf course superintendent in CA. If you have any questions about the landscaping of the course you visited & the process of golf course landscaping in general, I’m certain he could answer them for you! It’s a very interesting industry. I honestly never thought I’d be as interested in grass & native landscaping as I am now 😂
@@ratioetscientia Yeah, but there's other factors at play too. Some cultures have a bias against buying secondhand, mine included. People rather throw things away.
I live in Finland and I keep saying that the country should ban the sale of new glassware until we have emptied all the thrift stores and flea markets 😄 Flea markets are a huge part of our culture thankfully, but I really wish people would go there instead of ikea when they need glasses or cups.
Caroline, I truly LOVE watching your channel so much. I grew up in Bethesda and left to join the military at 18 years old. I am 30 now, out of the military and living in Wichita, Kansas. Your footage of the DMV really brings back memories especially your clip of the beloved Mormon Temple, or as we called it the Magic Kingdom when I was a kid. Thank you for putting so much heart and creativity in your work. ❤
I just read your update and came back to see what was up with the sponsor. Funny enough I had never even heard of Temu until a week or two ago and they have been advertising relentlessly as being brand new in Canada. I wondered if they were legitimate or not and from all the comments here I guess that I will be giving it a pass. Thanks for being so up front and transparent.
I had to laugh when I saw the tiny grater ... I have that Caroline! I bought it because it's adorable but actually it's good for grating whole nutmeg and fresh ginger!! So glad you're back :)
I was so sad to not see any uploads from you the past to Saturdays, but I know you deserve a break. Glad you’re back and glad you took time off! Your videos always uplift me ❤
I’m thrifting vicariously through you, so thank you! 😄 I’m currently living in a country with no second-hand shops. Missing it and looking forward to it when I get home!
As an Irish viewer I was sad to see the Irish coffee table book be sacrificed BUT also, them green hills and castles get very samey after a while. The furniture book and mattise definitely have more longevity 😂
I feel like ‘Patience & No Expectations’ are a perfect attitude to take toward modern day dating too😂😂😂 Been to 1/2 marathons and the Chicago Distance Classics. I bet there are a lot of dates from it. IKWM Just go fandom.
I found your channel randomly mentioned in a Paige Wassel video. Your AD review with your sister was the first video I watched and I binged all the others in a few days. 2 weeks ago I didn’t have a clue who you were, then I quickly became obsessed and kept refreshing your channel.
Finally someone making sense of my version of retail therapy! Browsing antique stores, estate sales, yard sales, & thrift stores! Usually after my therapist appointments lol (reflection while observing interesting items)
I was in tears I was so deeply moved when I attended my son's first cross country run in high school. Another Mom came over and told me she did the same her first time. Did not know Marathons are the same- I will have to go to one!!! 🐳
I loooove your videos and your philosophy and your everything!!! I so wish my single 39 year old daughter would watch you. She needs your viewpoint Having said that ….temu? Idk Caroline convince me lol I’ve heard other RUclipsrs say they take your images from other things and use them without permission. Also like wish and Shein I hate to think about the labor involved and the conditions. I know I buy stuff here without knowing that could be the case but if I kno for sure I don’t think I can buy. Not hating or criticizing because honestly I really admire you (I’m 64) wishing I’d been that self aware at your age. Just asking your opinion on the temu thing Stay well❤. Happy you’re back
You should definitely run a marathon. You were spot on with all the positive vibes. You’ll be happy you did it, even just once or for even a half marathon!
Love you Caroline I clicked so fast I’m at a red light and my kids are like whoa talking mommy I said this really cool lady mommy wishes was her friend. We are on our way to a native plant sale in FL. Love thrifting with you!!
Unsure if they have them on the east coast, but I am the BIGGEST FAN of Habitat for Humanity ReStores. A) great cause B) the finds are amazing It’s a lot of home improvement stuff like light fixtures, vanities and what have you, but they also have some great furniture pieces and you never know what you’re going to find. One time, I got $3k worth of Italian porcelain tile for $50 😅
My favorite not quite thrift find of all time is my TV stand. I took trash out to my apartment's dumpster, and there it was, off to the side. Exactly the size and style that I wanted. Solid wood, corner unit, plenty of storage. It was oak. I would have preferred a darker stain but it was free so home it came. I hid the scratches with furniture markers, and we've had it for years. There's not many better feelings than finding pretty much exactly what you want for absolutely nothing.
This was posted 2 mins ago. Im in bed half dead and I'm in here like a rat up a drain. LOVE U CW. Thanks for taking me out of the house thrifting as this is what I would be doing if I wasn't being killed by life.
Oh man… I feel you. Hang in there. No matter what, if you’re sheltering for your own well-being or heading out to get the basics… you’re doing great! 💜 ~N
@@nicolegregory4429 I love that sheltering for your own well-being! I am newly single and an empty house after 13 years and I am having trouble making myself leave! I know what to call it now! Some guy on a dirt bike threw a bottle at my brand new truck about a month ago I had to get a new hood in a new fender and I'm still terrorized!
@@jlina Oh my gosh! I completely understand!!! I had some guy trying to get in my back door while I was home. Grief Recovery (for loss of all types) and Becoming Bulletproof. There’s just some tips that I found useful. And it’s ok to stay in until you’re ready to deal with the world again. I’m available if you just need someone to talk to or help you work out some plans to step back on your path … but yes, shelter for your own well-being until you feel ready/able. There are so many unanswered for me with the breakup and í don't want to live alone. Would love someone to talk to! I'm 65, hard to find/make friends. Thank you so much!
Ok, I just realized who would be a PERFECT match for you...Dr Mike!!!😅 The two of you are equally amazing, funny and smart, and you kind of look alike🥰
Glad to see you back! I would have had such a hard time leaving that second store without every single rug, even though I am in fact not that rich and don’t live in a house large enough to use them all, but my soul just needs them you know 😅
I like the snap transitions! Saucers = Adulthood I appreciate that you said, "Do I need it" and put it back. Very well done. I'm allergic to clutter, myself.
I JUMPEDDDD! I’ve been rewatching all your vlogs to get my much needed dose of aesthetic+humor+inspiration+design - that only you seem to suffice in providing. Sincerely, Can’t breathe.
Hi Caroline, So glad you enjoyed your break and that you’re back! But I’m devastated you’ve promoted Temu 😢 You’ve broken my heart a little with this one.
Pro tip: always donate before you shop! Places like savers, value village, and goodwill give you coupons on your donation receipt that you can use in the store 👌
You crack me up with that $250 parking ticket my son is the same way he’s about your age he seems to get a lot of them and it doesn’t mean anything to him. It’s not that big of a deal.😂 On the other hand, I’m 68 years old. I have never ever gotten a parking ticket and I’ve never gotten a speeding ticket and I’ve never been in a car accident and I had a Mustang for about 15 years still no ticket. So this really fascinates me around millennials they seem to think it’s common place to get parking tickets regardless that it cost $250 y’all act like oh well that’s life and it’s gonna happen so this is what I wanna know … You really seem to plan ahead and make sure you have a budget for buying furniture, shopping spree’s, food, budget etc. I’m curious have you taken the time to estimate or guesstimate how many parking tickets you would anticipate to get in the upcoming year based on your previous years and do you know what that dollar amount is that you have to pay and parking tickets speeding tickets whatever and do you have a budget for that.? Now I am being humorous, but really, I am curious, do you ?
You are so smart and insightful. I think that if you took what you’ve learned from thrift shop, what you’re willing to buy based on whether it’s going to take more time to repair some thing or not, and simply apply that knowledge when you’re looking for a parking spot…. For example, this time I’m going to look this time and check the signs check the surroundings, check to make sure I can park here or what are the risks and say things like well that’s not in my budget today to get a ticket etc. You’re so smart and wise, in your conscious decisions, as to why you will, or won’t buy something- I really think it would be helpful for you to use the same principles when it comes to finding a parking spot. 🙏
Bummer on that parking ticket! $250.00 OUCH! But, you looked cute, love your hair, and you got a new purse! Great day and great video. Oh, and you make me laugh every time! Take care Caroline.
I wish you had looked a little bit more into Temu! There is a lot of shady, dropshipping, unsustainable business practices behind it. However, very fun to see the advertisement partnered with a thrift run!! Gonna be haunted by that clown for weeks
Marathons are the best!! I have a party for the NYC marathon every year and it's my favorite day of the year. Totally agreed about the positivity! You have a standing invite if you're ever in NYC for the marathon!

Can't help but notice the stark contrast between thrifting and fast fashion items from Temu..
My thoughts exactly, not judging, just confused.
Same. And very off brand for someone like Caroline, who I have come to know as someone who buys smartly, and carefully with much consideration.
I bought from them once, had a good haul for some birthday gifts and immediately deleted the app. The economy *will* collapse from temu
I came here to say this. It's sickening to think of how shitty the pay and working conditions must be for them to sell that vest for $8, not to mention how they must totally disregard the environment, as well.
Don’t like this sponsor :(

It's always seemed to me like a low budget amazon( can you get lower than that ?) And we don't need another amazon.

That yellow top on you is giving all the beautiful spring vibes I need. WELCOME BACK, QUEEN.
It's so Caroline and anyone familiar with her videos gets it. Not offensive at all😂
Yes beeeyotch....she's back. You are unlike any other content creator that I follow. I just live for your openness and legendary sense of humour. X
ahhh this beeeyotch is back!!! missed this place v much 🥲
❤❤
The edits of the bag poses. Hell yeah Paige. Love her editing your videos, she’s got great timing. You 2 are a dream team. Great finds- very supportive of the lil wood bowl
Paige is an absolute dream, she’s so so talented ❤️❤️so glad u loved it!!
PS. That company Sunnycity is a cool lil company for vegan leather bags. Good find!
Thrifting is my life. Retail is a task, thrifting is a treasure hunt!
It’s always a good day when you post a new vid, Caroline. You are priceless. ❤
Yes I reckon that flower painting would really make someone's room
I really wanted it. 😆
Not to besmirch Caroline’s paint swatch artistic creation, but I immediately thought how wonderful that flower painting would look above her sofa! ❤
Dude. I want that painting.
I have the tiny thing condition. I have a large collection of tiny trinkets collected since 18 mos old. Kept them in very large glass vases and recently moved them to a big basket.
I'm sick for vases and pitchers!!
I'm literally obsessed with your videos. If I'm feeling like crap... .GONE! Soon as I watch your video I'm instantly in an amazing mood, grinning, confidence boosted, and ready to take on the world. Thank you! Can't wait for the next one! 😁
Incredible to hear. I’m so glad friend. Hug to you!
I literally have cried when I saw everyone accomplishing their goals at a marathon. It’s such a crazy experience, I hope to run one someday.
I subscribed because I needed help finding my own style moving from a tiny apartment to a big house and figuring how to make it feel like a home I enjoy...but as an older sister, you give me such middle/little sister vibes that listening to you helps me cope living so far from my own sisters 😂 so oddly, thank you
My Saturday can officially start now that Caroline has posted 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Finding a bunch of stuff you certainly don’t need at all is the beauty of the thrifting treasure hunt.
And also why I am not allowed to go thrifting super often….😂😂
Yup. "Thrifting" is my Dh and my weakness. Oh the irony that it is the one thing that can mess up our budget. We need a reward for avoiding garage sales and thrift shops. The reward just can't be a trip to the thrift shop! 😂
@@tonygroves5526 hahaha, exactly!!
Temu, Caroline? Are you sure? 🫤
@@Caroline_Winklerso why is it still here if you become"aware" ffs ....
@@ReginaAntonina Because contracts are binding?
I love your association to romantic relationships. So, so true.
Do they not have thrift type shops in Europe? I hadn’t considered it, just curious. What happens to discarded/donated items?
I was born in Silver Spring!! Oh- and you absolutely crack me up. I love the balance of encouragement, energy and sarcasm.
I FREEEEEAKING LOVE this editing (that music!!!!) combined with Caroline's charisma and my fave hobby, thrifting ♥
The thumbnail and title legit made me so happy haha!
Update: I've gone to that exact thrift store for years! I always get so overwhelmed in there!
Same here, Kara! My greatest find there has been a 12-inch perfectly seasoned cast iron skillet for $9. Be still my beating heart.
I'm so astounded at the size of thrift stores in the US! It would be like a full time job to thrift over there (dream job btw) The fact you have shopping carts even. Signed an Aussie :)
One of your specialties' is making antiques look great with what you design with them. It is a great gift.
yes she has a way of getting things from soooo many places and yet it all looks so good together like as if it were all bought from one place that had an amazing designer
I've already commented but I wanna say 2 things...
You look BEAUTIFUL in yellow! Love it on you💛
When you were talking about the 'Rehab Tolerance'...it is ABSOLUTELY the thing I had to start thinking about when purchasing anything thrifted.
I honestly never thought I’d be as interested in grass & native landscaping as I am now 😂
I wish we had thrift stores this huge in Germany…seems like no-one in the US would ever need to buy anything new 😅
They keep buying things new, that's why they have so many secondhand items.
@@leonore3349 Ah, probably true…and maybe having an easy way to donate like that would only super-charge consumerism in Germany, too.
I live in Austria and I've never seen a thrift store of this size in my life 😮
Caroline, I truly LOVE watching your channel so much. ❤
Missed you Caroline - you had me chuckling within the first 2 minutes. So glad you are back!!
Really? No second-hand shops? Where are you? I'm in the states 😊
part of the joy for me is the joy of discovery. you never know what you'll find!
As an Irish viewer I was sad to see the Irish coffee table book be sacrificed BUT also, them green hills and castles get very samey after a while. The furniture book and mattise definitely have more longevity 😂
I LOVE vintage home decorating books. I got one for a $1 at a library sale entitled “How to Furnish Old American Homes” and was published in 1949!
Seriously so refreshing to see people just being themselves. Love love love watching your videos!
I feel like ‘Patience & No Expectations’ are a perfect attitude to take toward modern day dating too😂😂😂
Been to 1/2 marathons and the Chicago Distance Classics. I bet there are a lot of dates from it. IKWM
Just go fandom.
I couldn’t go thrifting this weekend because I got sick, so I’m very thankful you’re taking me with you without me having to leave my bed 😂❤
I’m a cross country coach and I was dying when you were talking about the people at the end of the marathon. That me with some of my runners. 🤣
Caroline, love starting my Saturdays with you. You are Sunshine ☀️🕶️ My smile meter is off the charts watching you thrift! Glad your back❤️
I was in tears I was so deeply moved when I attended my son's first cross country run in high school. Another Mom came over and told me she did the same her first time. Did not know Marathons are the same- I will have to go to one!!! 🐳
I loooove your videos and your philosophy and your everything!!! I so wish my single 39 year old daughter would watch you. She needs your viewpoint
Having said that ….temu? Idk Caroline convince me lol I’ve heard other RUclipsrs say they take your images from other things and use them without permission. Also like wish and Shein I hate to think about the labor involved and the conditions. I know I buy stuff here without knowing that could be the case but if I kno for sure I don’t think I can buy. Not hating or criticizing because honestly I really admire you (I’m 64) wishing I’d been that self aware at your age. Just asking your opinion on the temu thing
Stay well❤.
Yay native plants 🌱 Florida!
Unsure if they have them on the east coast, but I am the BIGGEST FAN of Habitat for Humanity ReStores.
A) great cause
B) the finds are amazing
It’s a lot of home improvement stuff like light fixtures, vanities and what have you, but they also have some great furniture pieces and you never know what you’re going to find.
One time, I got $3k worth of Italian porcelain tile for $50 😅
You can't thrift with us!! 😂
What a fun video! Thank you for uploading!!

Hi Caroline,
So glad you enjoyed your break and that you’re back!
But I’m devastated you’ve promoted Temu 😢 You’ve broken my heart a little with this one.
Pro tip: always donate before you shop! Places like savers, value village, and goodwill give you coupons on your donation receipt that you can use in the store 👌
The purse+the skirt - love it! Welcome back, Caroline!
I agree .. every time I add to my closet I do the one for one rule .. keeps my closet manageable for my sake 😄
You crack me up with that $250 parking ticket my son is the same way he’s about your age he seems to get a lot of them and it doesn’t mean anything to him. It’s not that big of a deal.😂
On the other hand, I’m 68 years old. I have never ever gotten a parking ticket and I’ve never gotten a speeding ticket and I’ve never been in a car accident and I had a Mustang for about 15 years still no ticket.
So this really fascinates me around millennials they seem to think it’s common place to get parking tickets regardless that it cost $250 y’all act like oh well that’s life and it’s gonna happen so this is what I wanna know …
You really seem to plan ahead and make sure you have a budget for buying furniture, shopping spree’s, food, budget etc.
I love that giant church that pops up over the trees on the highway looking absolutely enormous. I call it the princess castle 😂
Bummer on that parking ticket! $250.00 OUCH! But, you looked cute, love your hair, and you got a new purse! Great day and great video. Oh, and you make me laugh every time! Take care Caroline.
OMG! I have the tiny thing affliction as well. Nice to know I’m not alone. I have tons of tiny things.
Ahh yes it’s an affliction that only a few understand! So glad to hear u also suffer 😂
