Thank you for the tip on those blinker bulbs with resistor. I have a 1986 Alfa Romeo GTV6 and the Italian wiring was never up to the task of anything with even a meager amp draw. Making this conversion will go a long way towards helping me be seen since the incandescent bulbs aren’t even as bright as a birthday candle! Keep up the great content!!
Wow Bob! Such a huge improvement on the lighting giving such a clean bright white light. You have inspired me to change my lights out too. To the sand lights and bulbs. 💡 Can you please post some links to all the different lights and bulbs you got? Also to block out those apartment buildings and create a nice green privacy for you guys. I would suggest planting a long row of “Italian Cypress” they grow tall and thin getting only to a maximum of 3-4 feet wide when mature and don’t take a lot of water either. You’d place stone chips on top of them so the roots doesn’t dry out after 1 week in the sun. ☀️ Would make an awesome project! Blessings !!!
I've done multiple LED conversions. Start with good led chips that duplicate the size and shape of the incandescent filament. CSP chips are great. Look for the brand Stark Industries and fanless. You'll see their H4. The low beam has a hood to work with the reflector. This will give you a sharp cutoff pattern.
Mount a couple of candelabra’s on the wings & it’s ready for the strip, nah just kidding…Please keep those glass bulbs at hand/glovebox dear Bob, those CHINA led’s are prone to break/overheat… Love your video’s!
Bob I noticed on other Red Rolls Royces like this the wheels have a color matched red ring around the hub caps where yours are black, maybe try that next!
Just a note, you can get early silver shadow marker lights and replace the reflectors on all 4 corners. It looks so much better I've done it on 1 corniche and 2 Shadow 2's now. Have a look into it, looks lovely at night.
That new LED light is not that good, your old light throws a flat beam out your LED is mostly a blob all good conversions from one to another throw a really flat beam out id send them back...just my opinion
Yes, he should upgrade the sealed beams to the quartz halogens as out of the box. I'd even put in standard H4/H1 light bulbs, rather than those blue/white bulbs. My experience with 'white light'' quartz halogen bulbs is they don't last very long. From my reading, this LED conversion is terrible. as the lights are not patterned for LED, and really do blind oncoming vehicles, without any real benefit to the LED equipped car, as the light pattern is random, without a cut off. I'd even look for vintage Cibié, Bosch or Carrello headlight units for a more period correct look. Did Lucas make headlights?
Not really, LEDs have to operate at a much cooler temperature than incandescent. The biggest problem is the fans are noisy and probably won't last very long. You can also get LEDs without fans.
An incandescent bulb is just a toaster in a glass tube. It IS heat and the light coming from it is the same as the sun's glow. An LED is creating light through a different spectrum of technology, but the electricity used to operate it gets hot so it has to be cooled. Welcome to the future.
Your car is what were called a "Grey market" car. Grey Market cars are vehicles that were imported outside of the normal process used through dealerships. Alot of Mercedes Benz V8 cars were brought into the country and sold as Grey Market cars.
I don't wash it, we wipe it off. I have a spotless water I can rinse it with, but I doubt I will ever use it on this car. We blow it off, then wipe it off and use a quick detailer on it. It never goes in the rain or through a car wash. Even if it gets wet, it's 5% humidity and 110f here. It will dry in about 2 minutes.
Bob, I really thought you’d do a LED conversion the correct way and not the scumbag way. Those bulbs don’t belong anywhere but the garbage. You’ll be blinding the crap out of everyone else on the road and the output is all foreground. You want Holley retrobrite headlights. Throw that peasant junk away.
I have in the past, check my videos, I have replaced certain parts myself and done simple work on it. My grandfather was a watchmaker. It's not that hard. I don't have the presses and tools needed to replace jewels and things but I can do some stuff.
Watched every video you have ever made! Its like watching paint dry, I must REALLY Love watching paint dry!!!! 😁 Do you still have the Prevost? Be well ole' friend, Texas misses you...
The royal benefit of driving a Rolls Royce is only you knowing several things are not working properly as you cruise down the road, but no one else knows… come on man! 😂
Hey Bob, It's pretty cool watching the behind the scenes of this channel on your other channel. Keep on a Rockn', watching your band rehearsal was pretty damn awesome 👍🤘
Loving your Rolls Royce videos, Robert my friend. Keep on Rolling. Good job you did there,. and it wasn't easy for you at all... but you conquered it at last. Well done.
When it comes to blinkers, the best option is to replace the mechanical flasher module with an electronic unit. Then you don't have to mess with adding resistors which kind of defeats the whole purpose of a low-powered LED. You do have to be careful when it comes to LED tail lights. Some cruise control designs require seeing a certain amount of resistance through the tail light bulbs for the system to work. So if the cruise control stops working, you may need to add some small load resistors to the tail lights circuit.
L e d bulbs in taillights and turn signal applications don't flash in old cars Bob you could make them work with a resistor but I would not know how to do it The voltage is not enough for the flashes to work

I did the same to my Silver Shadow, it MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE> Screw the haters. It looks awesome :) Holley Retrobrights are a great option as well!

Bob, she is stunning. I love the extra work you are doing on her.
That makes a world of difference. Looks great
The lights look great Bob. Very nice
Bob, that really is a gorgeous car.
Was really hoping for a night drive.......maybe next video?
I use Auxbeam led's in my vehicles, been a great headlight for me.
The clear lens blinkers really lift the front end appearance, good job, Bob.😉
Great job bob👍👍. Out with the old and crusty in with the new and hotness.
What a difference! So much brighter it’s almost comical. Good job! Happy for ya man 👍
Nice job Robert. You're hired.
Enjoyed the clip, Corniche are very nice Rolls.
Wow that is an impressive change on headlights.
When I was a child, I thought they were "Seal Beam" Headlights.😳🤣

I did NOT know about Johnny Carson, but had a Volvo shop from ‘82 to ‘94 and had one to work on and test drive, and had that fear also.
Back in England we called Lucas Sealed beam headlights Candles in the wind" back in the day.
I just want those led bulbs, been using hikari in my kenworth. Those look allot better
Whats about the white reverse lights & the rear fog lamps ???
I'm sure they are MUCH brighter than the originals... but they have no cutoff. I kind of hate that. Not to mention it blinds oncoming traffic.
Who gives a shit about blinding traffic? Lol
@@keithhomesley1946 Uh, well i certainly do. I guess i'm weird... not to mention the safety aspect of it.

Allen Toussaint had a Gold Rolls Royce Cornishe.
Be sure to let us know when you take her out to do donuts 🍩 in the parking lot 😂😂

bullshit. These new lights give a perfect cover of crisp light with no streaks or spots. They work perfectly.
@@perryelyod4870 Both of you missed the entire point of taking more than half of the resistance load of the bulbs off the old system.
The fact that the bulb needs a fan to cool it is a bit scary.

You have it looking great. BOB!!
A simple value added modification to the Rolls Royce, add a LED headlights for looks and safety.
Any change that gives you better vision at night is well worth it.
Much love bob have blessed monday love your videos brother
Bob why would you wrap wires around the back of the bulb for how hot the bulb gets . ???
LED and hot ?
I wrapped them around the wire clamps. Settle down.
Bob, when you say it won't see water because of the dry weather in Vegas, you still have to wash the damn thing!!!
He doesn’t wash with water.. he does a wipe off technique if I’m not mistaken.
