2:04 Grand march from Norma! Love that song. 12:05 Road to the Isle. Love that piece of music the Scottish guards did too!
It's amazing how the field officers can make themselves be heard over the loud music
Many years of practice will do that..
They have microphones attached for the BBC and so that all on horseguards can hear

That OK Nimrod. You are forgiven. There is quite a bit of information in the village regarding the forming of the Regiment in Coldstream. I believe that Cornwall and the south west is also a good recruiting area for the regiment but perhaps others could confirm this
@uchio The woman on the black horse is the Princess Anne, The Princess Royal. Members of the Royal Family are tradtionally are Royal Colonels of the Household Regiments. For example, the Princess Royal is the Royal Colonel of the Blues and Royals, Prince William is the Royal Colonel of the Irish Guards, The Prince of Wales for the Welsh Guards, The Duke of Kent for the Scots Guards, and The Duke of Edinburgh for the Grenadier Guards. Her Majesty serves as the Colonel-in Chief.

@rafflesman The BBC do a good job covering events overall but some of the commentators start to think they have to be constantly talking and I agree HD is quite annoying
Yeah...that is pretty wild, and I was amazed myself. But it turns out that his family has had a long and distingushed run in the British army, dating back for centuries. He was just following family tradition.
@uchio Currently there is no Royal Colonel for the Coldstream Guards, presently however, the Colonel of the Regiment is Lieutenant General James Bucknall, CBE.
The Ensign is 2nd Lieutenant Tom Ogilvy.
Coldstream Guards got their nickname on the Somme 1916, the tallyhos.
Coldstream Guards nickname is The Lillywhites hence the Lillywhites flower on their collar.
