I was a kid in the 90s/early 00's, but have fond memories of water beds. My parents had several through out my life, my uncle even had one. I recall going into a matress store and losing it when i saw a twin sized water bed. I was told no of course. Nowadays i love my memory foam bed, but part of me really still wants a water bed...
i've used waterbeds for at least 20 years now i'll be 30 this month and i've never had a problem i've tried others over the years but in the end i gotta go with what's best for my health i currently have a full motion bladder with a legacy lilly tight top cover to protect from my cats claws etc which it does beautifully in medium walnut california king size with bookcase headboard and pull finger draws underneath to make up for the storage that the bed takes up which honestly is not that much only 72x84 with the finishing touch jumbo thick black vinyl padded side rails so i don't bruise my legs or my butt getting in and out and i was able to have it in my apartment because my dr wrote a letter explaining to my landlord it's for the health benefits pain relief etc
good for health how? well being a partial quad i have poor circulation especially in my legs and feet and the beds warmth helps that and promotes healing and muscular relaxation from spasms and in summer is cooling once the heaters off but most importantly there are no pressure points so no bed sores which could kill someone p.s. and playing with someone is fantastic
My friend has a broken back, his lower vertebrae are fractured from a car accident. He has a water bed so that he can still walk around, a regular bed would out him in too much pain and he'd be out if commission. He's 50 now, still kicks my but in the sword class he teaches. :) But, yes, water beds are good for health.
I'm in my late sixties and have a great waterbed! It's fiber filled and baffled and virtually no motion. Also have a free flow twin bed for visitors. There are great new mattress choices available now.

My whole family had waterbeds, last year my parents finally got rid of there's after 40 years. We were all conceived on that bed and two out of four us were home deliveries on that bed. So, they were meant to last. We also have cats and are from Washington state.
When I was a kid, our cat used to frequently nap on my parents' waterbed. I used to run in from the hallway and jump onto the other end of the bed, so that the resulting wave would fling her up into the air. Many lolz were had.
I absolutely love ❤️ my waterbed. A kind gentlemen on Craig’s list was kind enough to give me his. That was long ago and I now about to fill mine tonight. I’m excited. It’s been a year.
Groovy and cool But you know what isn't? Oil going into rivers and I would think that the protests at the pipes, "at ground zero", would be A Great Big Story....
Well the big story is about interesting stories, not whatever you think is the biggest economic problem right now. Don't make the big story channel CNN.
There’s actually a clip of Charlie Hall on To Tell the Truth from 1991 on here where a member in the audience had to figure out which one of Charlies stories was true, whether he invented the waterbed or erasers, the studio audience member got it wrong
Second coming for waterbeds? Please...I have one and it's IMPOSSIBLE to find a new one. People just don't sell them anymore. Funny thing is I'm in Washington :/ This guy needs to be making more of them damn it.
NO! I wanna hear more about that nifty inflatable kayak!
Shiny Sylveon, google charlie hall. You'll find his kayaks.
Moi aussi!
Intex makes some too
Yeah, it looks way more sturdy than the normal inflatable ones
I have one, they’re extremely fun! Hasn’t popped yet, and I’ve been in some rather shallow waters! I strongly recommend them!
if he can make it cat-proof, he'd take over the world.
Rinoa Super-Genius
XD
True!
You can make it knife-proof at home using kevlar sheets
Use carbon fiber
Mohit Shetty that’s pretty hard
MR. BBLQ kevlar isn't stab proof, they put a layer of chainmail in the jackets
Wait hold on a second. Inflatable kayak? Thats genius

could be that ghost ship illusion. happens sometimes
Daaamn
I'm surprised this doesn't have many comments. I'd really like to try a waterbed sometime
Kawaishiri They are Heavenly!
Don't listen to the person above, they are the opposite of heavenly if anyone truely remembers having one lmao
They're ok, not actually very comfortable to sleep on though.
I'm a side sleeper and had to use one at a friend's house one time. I HATE THEM. I couldn't get comfortable to save my life.
I love mine
Do people sell water beds anymore?
Samuel Mapayi yeah
Lots of apartment buildings and condos won't allow you to have a water bed, due to the risk of water damage.
Yes, at Planters Walk Antique Mall. I have one and wouldn't trade it for anything.
You can get a queen setup for under 150$ without the frame
Yes some are even made in US

Presumably you are an adult and have your own income now, go and make your dream a reality. I am thinking about getting one myself.
Amen!💚

michaelsjourney87 happy 31st bday!
My mum has one, she has back problems and finds normal beds uncomfortable. It's the comfiest fucking bed on earth.
No pun intended?
She's nearly 60 so fair play to her if she's still getting it!
That's just kinky.
Imagine drowning on the inside of a waterbed
You can hide a body there long enough to avoid suspicion
@@abadidea8610 you know what, once a teenage boy killed a kid and did exactly that 😑

Oh god, so essentially the feeling of being buried alive and drowning at the same time.
Terrifying.

Not only is it groovy but it’s helped my late aunt who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and was in bed for nearly twenty years
Only thing I remember about my waterbed was popping it.
How much trouble did u get in
Was your whole house full of water?
Had a water bed MANY years ago. Loved it. Very comfortable.
Take a gallon of vodka every time he says Groovy.
Chirp I'm now Russian
Chirp a gallon ? Lmao he only has to say groovy once to take out a cow
you’d be probably really intoxicated and groovy
Chirp you’d pass out real quick
The video editing and music works so well
For a moment i thought his chair in the thumbnail is a centipede 😂😂

Briefly met him a few years ago when I was working at a furniture store that was re-introducing waterbeds. Very cool guy!
My whole family had waterbeds, last year my parents finally got rid of there's after 40 years. We were all conceived on that bed and two out of four us were home deliveries on that bed. So, they were meant to last. We also have cats and are from Washington state.

I’d enjoy a reality tv show revolving around Charlie Hall and his everyday life
Its all fun until your cat walks on it
I like how chill his house is.
Forget about the waterbeds, where does he live? That lake front looks stunning... 😍
I'm pretty sure it's Puget Sound in Washington.
Yes
Love this guy. We have the same style. Beautiful bedroom... I've always loved water beds.
0:04 thought he spilled the coffee on the ground..
How groovy is that
My waterbed experience was awesome 👏 wish i had one today!
You can’t find almost anything on Amazon. Including waterbeds.
What's the story of the waterbed now? Is it still commonly sold?
Katherina Lastname not at all
Yes they are still sold. Planters Walk Antique Mall.
So they aren't gonna talk about that inflatable kayak?
"You could walk into any store in America and buy a waterbed"
Me: *tries it out*
Cashier: *"Ma'am, this is a Wendy's."*
Do you know how to make the bed bouncy? Add spring water
I absolutely love ❤️ my waterbed. A kind gentlemen on Craig’s list was kind enough to give me his. That was long ago and I now about to fill mine tonight. I’m excited. It’s been a year.
legends has it that this is the diamond princess cruise ship 1:24

This is not “depressing content channel” its Great Big Story. Also why the heck do you care!?!?
“I think this is important no one can talk about anything else.”
😂🔫
Why did it feel like there was a big centipede beside the bed in the thumbnail?

Never been able to lay on a water bed, what am I missing out on? Cause I want one really bad
Which "Genesis," the rock band with Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford, or the Bible book?
Short answer: the 70's happened.
Love you grandpa
1:25 that boat looks photoshopped in
When I saw this at first I thought it said waterboard instead of bed
but can the waterbed withstand late night activity?
I appreciate these.
Why did they edit in a boat at 1:21 ?
I always wanted a waterbed
hold up that inflatable kayak sounds dope though
He is the optimal cool dad.
Hmmm, he should make a giant pin to poke the waterbed with.
I needed to know this
Second coming for waterbeds? Please...I have one and it's IMPOSSIBLE to find a new one. People just don't sell them anymore. Funny thing is I'm in Washington :/
