BONUS #9 I quit decorating SO MUCH for holidays and seasons! This video showcases perfectly how I used to decorate with things covering nearly all the flat surfaces. Now I set out a few of our favorite things, and call it good!! So much easier to clean, less to dust, and way less to store throughout the year!
I don’t decorate for any seasonal or holiday - I can get enough of that stuff at other people’s home or at the store- I LOVE coming home to a calm and peaceful home FREE from decor clutter. - no stress to buy, no stress to store, no stress to haul out, no stress to display, not stress to put away, no stress to repair and insure.
Idk how it works at your house but I highly recommend cooking in bulk somehow. Really help to free up a night or so of not cooking (or ordering out lol)
Yesssss absolutely!! I try to also keep It simple but i get bored easily(im italian and love fresh seasonal Just made meals) so the idea of keeping a weekly menù on rotation for a month might be a good idea but i think i Need guidance... Maybe making It more interesting keeping some sauces on rotation too? I tend to make most of the food we eat from scratch, and with 2 small children sometimes It gets quite complicated, stressful and definitely not something i look forward to... And we end up having dinner real late 😭
Thank you for the gratitude reminder! I’m constantly reminding myself to stop wishing the time away. I had my son when I was 25 and was always in a hurry for him to grow up and I was never living in the moment. I am now 54 and he’s 29 years old, and if I could go back in time to hold that sweet baby boy in my arms again and to be able to just sit in peace with him would be such a blessing. As much as I love the person he’s grown into, I still miss that little baby that was safe with me. I try very hard to stop wishing the days away or wishing for something “better” in our current situation . I’ve even wished away the work days (who doesn’t). I realized not too long ago we wish these days away and then complain the time goes by too fast. Every day is precious, no matter how crazy or stressful it gets because you’ll never get that day or time back again. Thank you♥️
Yes!! Please do a video of your simplified meal plan!! I love all your videos and so look forward to every new one you post. Wish you could do more of them!!
I define clutter as things that I haven’t used in a year and are taking up valuable space - both visible and hidden. My friend told me she doesn’t consider it clutter if she can find storage space for it, even if she isn’t using it. She has created storage in the garage to accommodate a lot of things she never uses. I don’t understand this, but I respect her need to hang onto ‘clutter’.
OMG I am like your friend. Loads of things I don’t use, neatly stored. These days I do at least have regular declutters (about once a year) of the stored items. I’m not perfect, but things are better than they were.
Bringing items into our homes definitely need to pass the "worthiness" test. I'm so much more picky about shopping these days. I used to settle for "close enough," but no more.
love hearing you say to stop wishing time away and while you were standing there wishing for a loft, you couldn't appreciate your baby. I completely agree with that. It's amazing how most people probably do this in some way or another but being mindful that we are doing this will make it that much easier for us to stop when our brain starts going down that path. Thanks for putting this out there!
Hi Candace we downsized last year into a smaller house.I decluttered a lot of stuff and don't miss it.Most people spend most of their time wishing their lives away.I clean but I am not a perfectionist.I break up my cleaning I don't clean the whole house in a day.If I don't feel like doing something I don't beat myself up abour it. We got rid of a lot of holiday stuff.I put a few things out and it is more enjoyable. I too like to just be grateful for what we have and not wish we had something g bigger or better.Hapoy Thursday
I still remember when I taught my then 16 year old son to use the washing machine as he was inclined to say he needed a specific pair of jeans for the next day at 10 o’clock at night, my elder son followed suit and they were responsible for washing their own clothes, I only had to insist they keep whites and coloured clothes separate.
@Simply This Life, I can so relate to this video! 0:42-1:12 - YES - we see potential in the beginning, and now I see it as something I must deal with later! LOL 1- I purchase impulsivity! 2- I purchase and I don't use like I should. 3- Simplifying changes your mindset and surroundings! Thank you for such a great video. MINDSET IS IMPORTANT AND CRITICAL!
I've watched something about your meals on 3X5 index cards but don't know where to find it now. I'm trying to figure out something so I'm not running to the store every few days
I'm still in the process of decluttering, but I'm making some good progress! I'm childfree by choice (I'm the cool aunt) but listening to you talk about your kids when they were little was sweet. My nephews and niece are all pretty much adults now but remembering when they would do things like sit on my husband's feet and hold on to his legs always makes me smile. :)
My main problem is buying things because of a great price. There will always be things I like for a great price. I'm at my limit for home things and over the limit for clothes and accessories.
I still struggle with this, but the best work around is just staying out of the store. Even with Instacart I typically just hit buy it again and buy the basics now.
We use them yes!!!! The kids (and my husband) use them to lay on the floor in front of the fire, and we all use them under our arms when we’re sitting on the couch! My husband made fun of me for the longest time for having them, but he used them the most!! 😆
Can you please do a session on your make up? Do you have a lot or have you simplified this down too? Your make up always looks so pretty so I’m interested to know how you deal with this area of organisation and declutterring. Thanks!

There's no video on the screen at the end.
Same here! I have four totes, with all seasons of stuff. That includes one tote of wreaths.
Such a good idea of video about your meal routine 🤗💛💛💛 I'll be waiting for it a lot 🌿🌿🌿
Please do a simple meal planning video! I’m always looking for new, easy meal ideas!
I would add how to get helpers involved and dealing family complaints.
having cats does not simplify my life but I would never not have them
Having kids doesn’t simplify mine either, but they are my everything! ❤️❤️❤️
Yes a simplified meal plan would be wonderful! I hate that it takes me two to three+ hours cooking & cleaning every night for meals!!!
Idk how it works at your house but I highly recommend cooking in bulk somehow. Really help to free up a night or so of not cooking (or ordering out lol)

Reflections of a homemaker and mother.... sigh..... I hear ya!

This Is by far One of the best videos about Daily Life i've Watch ever.
So simple, so TRUE and honest.
Free, sale, and cute are all 4-letter words! As soon as I realized this, it changed a lot! Bad words!😂😂
Excellent video! And oh so true!
My main problem is buying things because of a great price. There will always be things I like for a great price. I'm at my limit for home things and over the limit for clothes and accessories.

Messy is ok. Dirty is not.
SOOO TRUE
Would love to see your meal plan!

Love meal planning videos!
I'll add it to the line up!
Amen!!
BEST VIDEO ❤
Such beautiful advice. ❤
Do you use all the pillows on your couch? They have to be moved to sit. I never understood massive throw pillows on beds or couches
We use them yes!!!! The kids (and my husband) use them to lay on the floor in front of the fire, and we all use them under our arms when we’re sitting on the couch! My husband made fun of me for the longest time for having them, but he used them the most!! 😆
So True!!!
you will have more favorite times of life as they grow up. The best of every season.
Way too many pillows on those couches.
Way too much everything lol
I notice that people who watch a lot of TV usually have very cluttered houses.
Can you please do a session on your make up? Do you have a lot or have you simplified this down too? Your make up always looks so pretty so I’m interested to know how you deal with this area of organisation and declutterring. Thanks!
