The BR 101 is our primary Intercity engine pulling them usually at 200-250 km/h or a bit faster the Intercity is slowly being replaced with the Intercity 2 (wich is slower kinda stupid but ok) and since the Intercity 1 is being replaced and the BR 101 was built specially for those services so they trialed her on a goods train but it was found a few days after that it was found to have done damage to its frame so she isn’t allowed to pull those anymore and since they won’t have use for her anymore they are gonna scrap her sadly.. Ive grown up with her so it’s sad to see her go… Lil side note 5 have already been scrapped and anyways Greetings from Germany!
I prefer British trains. The US has 10% of track used by passenger trains. Either your freight yards are 96 foot long or the railway heads are very twisted. Anyway, may favourite UK train is the class 142, it was put out of service in 2019-2021, but I still watch their videos. The fastest train that runs in the UK is the class 374 e320 for Eurostar
