Absolutely one of the most amazing slow films of deep cinematic beauty and deceptive simplicity.

A wonderful record of what may be a dying way of life. My brother in law and I spent quite a lot of time in Eskdale and particuly in the wildrness of Upper Eskdale. The opening sequences in this film with the mist and wild crags brings back memories of when we climbed the south east face of Ill Crag on the side of the Scafells - one of the best hard scrambles / easy rock climbs in England and almost certainly the remostest. So impressive that these shepherds are so at home in that environment - we climbed on a fine day not a misty one!

Those of us for whom the Lake District, and the sight of Herdwick sheep, hold deep love and caring for the land (no matter where we live) will find this video comforting and calming. This is a beautiful testament to the hard work of fell farmers and shepherds who work the land. Whenever I'm in England, I visit the Lakes, and there's not a day that goes by that I don't miss the land, the Herdwick, and most especially the proud and decent-hearted people who live there. Thank you for sharing this with the world.

Addicted to your phone? Fuel bills getting you down? Cost of living weighing heavily?
Relax and watch this riveting doc. There's something peaceful about this sheep gather that creeps over you. It's something to with the rawness of nature, the traditional, the natural way of life outside the Digital Age. Andrew Harrison delivers a master class on how to narrate by keeping one's mouth mostly shut; letting the images tell the story, ( tv presenters take note)...Maxine Peake reads the poetry. The drone footage is just perfect a credit to the production team. I loved it. You will too if you settle down, turn the smartphone off and immerse yourself in this extraordinary doc.

It’s good to see hill farmers who know how to gather and clip their own sheep.

Thank you for a wonderful rural video. Is the short- coated black, prick eared dog a Kelpie ?

Watching the man shepherd walk at the beginning was not comforting seeing he has a harder time waking and his pace is rushed.

It’s country work, you need to crack on, it isn’t a sociable stroll in the fields.
