People crave simplicity/fulfilling work, especially in nature. I liked the equal emphasis on Pedro the man, and his work.
Nobody to suggest, but there's a trend in documenting dying/lesser-known trades and knowledge.
It's hard to know what scratches that itch and garners more attention when half of us have social media-induced ADHD.

Morgan is one of my closest friends, and when Pedro said "I got sent to a great group of people", he couldn't have been more right. Morgan and his family run an incredible ranch, and getting to follow along watching his videos, and videos like this that he is apart of, is a great glimpse into the world of ranching and farming. I couldn't be more excited for such a great guy like Morgan to be getting this type of exposure. Thanks for the video!

The life of a modern-day sheepherder like this is one I feel like I'd do terribly at, and yet I still feel incredibly envious of. I'll bet Pedro and co. feel more satisfied after a day's work than most of us do...

Great video, I worked for a rancher who had Peruvian sheep herders. I worked with them during lambing in the spring. they where the best people to work with. They had the best manners and respect for other people and the animals they work with.
they where funny and just great people to be around, I enjoyed all the time I spent working with them and learning a new culture. I miss working with them, they are very hard working people And YES,,,,, they where just like Family.

Really enjoyed the video, where I spent most of my life there were sheep herders from the Basque Country. Northern Nevada, Elko County you'll find trees marked with dates and the names of a few of the herders who like Pedro worked hundreds of sheep. An interesting life for sure, and if you ever get to Elko, or Boise try the Basque food restaurants, you won't regret it.

Amazing story. Had several friends who ranched and ran sheep and employed sheepherders, sometimes Mexican's sometimes Navajos. Since America started importing the meat and wool they could no longer afford to keep sheep so went to strictly cattle. Wool sits in the shed and they are unable to sell it so ya cannot blame them. No more sheepherders or camps going up into the mountains. Miss that part of Americana.

Back in the 80s and early 90s I would see herders around boulder mountain in Utah but they were all Navajo guys. It wasnt until years later when I was hitchhiking through Nevada I got a ride from a rancher that was dropping off some Herders in the mountains around Wells, Nv . He told me they were all Peruvians. I found it curious that guys would come all the way from Peru just to herd sheep. But, I can understand their reasons. Anyhoo, great vid!

My family had a ranch in western Colorado. We ran sheep, cattle and a dairy. Every Saturday we would stop at the L&M grocery store in Collbran for 5 lbs of flour, coffee, beans and a large hunk of some kind of meat then head up to the High Tower mountain in a 1968 truck bed style Bronco. Before the Bronco it was a 1945 Willys Jeep. We would handi man jack and come along winch our way to find the sheep herder, Then the environmental police made us stop. Pack horses added an extra couple hours to the trip.
