Im much more of a WRPG player than a JRPG player but I'm hearing great things about the themes and heart in the story of Metaphor, so I might actually have to try that one 💪
Dude. I bought like half of the list this year and I’m currently playing Metaphor Refantazio. Of those I missed, I plan on buying Ys. I have my eye on Romancing Saga. The only game I’m not interested in is Mario. Never got into the franchise.
Wow I absolutely misspoke! I was thinking about Mario & Luigi Brothership which is mid at best. Paper Mario TTYD however is an absolute gem! The game might play a bit simple, but the story is top tier!
The more I hear about the added bloat and filler in FF7 rebirth the less I want to play it. I enjoyed parts of remake, mostly the story and character work but often felt like the game deliberately slowed you down and wasted your time. And this takes it beyond that to the max which is a real turn off. Combat was a mixed bag in remake but by the end of the game I was enjoying myself. I fear I would never finish rebirth out of frustration
I’ve been feeling the same way honestly, but I just decided to push through. A lot of the mini games are fun but most of the stuff they have you do is just a waste. It kinda feels like they don’t feel the story is strong enough to carry the game which is insane. Almost done with it though. Gongaga is an absolute nightmare!! 😭😭
An old strategy rpg I used to play as a kid is Shining Force from Sega. Found out it was on Steam for a dollar so I may be playing it again.
Dang for a dollar I’ll have to pick it up too!
Playing Ys X Nordics now. I really love it and honestly enjoy the ship combat even though people say it's a bit slow.
That’s awesome and I’ve heard the same thing! I need to get it!
Man, PS5 this year been awesome for jrpg.
Absolutely!! And I have a feeling next year is gonna be even better!

I couldn’t recommend it more if I tried. It might not end up being your thing, but it’s definitely worth a try, specially if it’s discounted!
If you game on pc there's a demo on steam.
Very Nice! And it’s a meaty demo too!!
Find mii is still my go to Rpg. 😊

I feel that and honestly it’s a pretty weak entry so far… everyone keeps saying it gets better later in the game but I just hate that!
Also you have great taste bro!! 🙏🏾

Dude play the games before you speak about it unicorn overlord is nothing like fire emblem I got it and return thanks for nothing
Sorry about that bro. It is similar enough to Fire Emblem, not exactly the same but it’s a strategy rpg.
