A new Tokyo Xanadu is in development. Announced in March, it'll probably be available in JP within a year and the west is about a year behind that, usually.
14:12 to me this is a waste of time as I have a trilogy pack of Dragon Quest I,II and III
14:30 this game was announced on Marvelous’s showcase but it wasn’t on switch and when Nintendo did their direct bam now it’s coming to switch, for myself I’ve disappointed with how Marvelous has ruined ruin factory and Story of Seasons with terrible localization and the addition of a nonbinary gender in SOS really stupid so I have no faith in Marvelous anymore

The characters in Farmagia instantly made me think of Fairy Tail, is it the same artist?

@@Gamersghoul I got Tokyo Mirage Session on the Wii U for $20 about a month ago. I don't actually own a Switch, and only recently got a Wii U (for free).
I may grab the Switch 2, and then if it's backwards compatible, I'll pick up a few original Switch games, like Three Houses and Princess Peach Show Time..

Metaphor is 100% the game I am most excited for this year. Each year I allow myself one Collector's Edition, and that's the one I went for. It looks SO good.

If these are basically all preordered, by my calculations......you have games coming.....but not an organ you havent traded yet. There are so many bangers in this list....like what are we gonna do with so much heat on the way? No rent gettin paid here this month lol! I'm waiting on the LE for Ys X, but that will be preordered soon. Xanadu I have coming, w/ the soundtrack and....ugh....yeah no rent im paying and....I've also determined i dont need food for a while either lol! Thanks Ren! Super great list!

When i first heard about farmagia i knew i was gonna pick it up but hadn’t preordered it yet. This video spooked me, but the day 1 is still available at several other retailers, so i put my preorder in today.
My other preorders at the moment are the tomb raider trilogy and Yars Rising on the switch.
I'm watching a lot of content creators with content similar to yours. But only in your videos I can find something new and fresh. Most content creators these days show the same content. What's more, I can hear passion in your voice, which makes me want to buy most of the games. Keep up the good job.

That Nintendo direct crushed my wallet. I've already pre ordered Dragon Quest 3, Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, and Mario Party Jamboree. I'll probably snag up Mario and Luigi Brothership too.
I removed my dragon quest 3 order. The body A body B was a deal breaker.

I'm in the same boat. Playing Granblue, FF7 Rebirth, Persona 3 and Octopath Traveller 2. Waiting for Visions of Mana, Ys10 and Metaphor. So many amazing titles this year. 🤯❤
I'm a little confused by Lost Epic, hasn't the game already been released on console and Steam for over a year or this some new version or expansion i'm unaware of?
FYI, most, if not all of these games are either already out or will also be out on PS4, PC, and Xbox. More than annoying when people say what systems a game comes out on and just says PS5 or Switch, not everyone prefers those platforms.
Lots of great games releasing. I forgot to preorder Tokyo Xanadu for Switch, so thanks for the heads up. I'm definitely going to grab Maid of the Dead too. Most of my other preorders are Nintendo games coming up. Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, Mario + Luigi Brotherhood, and DQ3 HD-2D. Lots of great games coming!

Well - One of your wishes is already fulfilled. Tokyo Xanadu WILL get a sequel. It was announced a while back, and there are no details known at this time (although it looks like there will be new protagonist, and I don't know if Kou or Asuka play role in it) , but there will be a sequel.
A lot of those upcoming games are certainly on my list, but first and foremost - Trails Through Daybreak.
Just a few day's and I can finally dive in.

I’m hoping to see a port of YS7. I really enjoy the YS games where you have a cast of different playable characters who fight alongside you and you can switch between, so discovering YS7 has peaked my interest. I got 8, 9, and Memories of Celceta and all those father classic JRPG chapter casts so I think I would absolutely love to play 7.
Falcom already announced a sequel to Tokyo Xanadu.

I remerber the main thing that got my attention from farmagie is that it seems the art is made by the same guy who wrote fairy tail.

Metaphor for sure. I got tired of waiting for the DQ3 remake release date and bought all 3 in the Switch shop only for the bombshell to drop halfway through my DQ3 game...
The one preorder I’d go after is Tokyo Clanpool from Playasia as it’s finally getting localized, the fact we are finally getting that once PSVITA Japanese exclusive is always amazing to me. I love that the switch has been able to get a plethora of hidden gems from the PSVITA library over the years, most of which are being finally translated at least In regards to games developed by Compile Heart/Idea Factory, they were a pretty big supporter of the PSVITA during it’s prime of hidden masterpiece on that system from Japanese developers.
Romancing Saga is the one I'm holding off for now.
I thought I had already preordered Y's X, but that's one I'm missing.
Didn't realize Farmagia was going to sell out so quickly, will have to keep an eye out for that.
Other than that, I have everything else on this list preordered.

I’ve played Lost Epic, it’s a metroidvania. The art direction looks like the game was programmed using flash, but it is a lot of fun.

I loved Ys IX, the gameplay was awesome. The new moves added a more 3D design to the dungeons that were never there before.

One I would recommend that you don’t have here is WitchSpring R. It has a standard and collector’s edition. The Japanese CE is more expensive but has a better variety of items included.
You’re also missing the Nintendo JRPGs like Zelda and Mario & Luigi!

Preordered that Ys Oath in Felghana day one and going to cop Ys X Nordics as well! I had Tokyo Xanadu sitting in my shelf for a long time but im doubtful a fix will be issued for the PS4 version so Switch time I guess...

I REALLY want to get metaphor day one, but i don't want to get suckered into getting it and down the line, they drop it again with new content, but be at full price. I did that with p5 and i let myself get hyped for vengeance thinking it was DLC only to find out it wasn't that or even a sequel to SMT 5, but another rerelease and at full price.

Oh wonderful! I had no idea about these games, I got to check them out! And wow yeah I don't blame you for valuing that preorder above the others in your collection! Brigandine is still one I kick myself for missing the CE on lol. I would say one of my favorite preorders would be for the Soul Hackers 2 CE. I love that game so much and it was so despised by the masses I feel a kinship with it now lol.

Aww man I’ve been so close to pulling the trigger on Goblin Slayer, I might have to.
Metaphor RF is my most anticipated game this year, I wish the CE was a big box like P3R and Squares titles.
Also, I stopped watchin any of the previews for games I know I want to play. Personal discovery is the lost art of entertainment. I watch a review after I play a game and go oh? I didn’t even notice that most of the time.
A game that I have my eye on but I have not heard anyone talk about is Reynatis. Comes out September and seems interesting. Check it out and let me know what you think!

a new game that i think will be a hidden gem is Balatro. It card game that will have a physical cart. I have put over 100 hours in just the demo of the game.
I have a feeling that metaphor story goona be like persona 3 where it's just really sad at the end hell even the protag looks like makoto from persona 3
What are the chances that after some time we will get all three DQ HD-2D games on a single cartridge? Because even if I want to try them sooner rather than later I am willing to wait for something like that for a longer time.
Nice recommendations! Surprisingly enough, I'm also interested in the Saga 2 Remake, and I've also never played a game in that series! Metaphor is a day 1 purchase for me! As well as DQ3 HD2D Remake! OK, here's my rant about Goblin Slayer. I bought the Japanese edition from Play Asia as they mentioned that an English subtitled patch will be available to download. I get the game, try it out, and it's Japanese only. I go back on Play Asia, and it now says that the English patch was canceled by the dev, and now 2 other companies are releasing an English version of it? This is bull crap and I will not buy the English version just on principle. This is the kind of practice that I can't get behind. Rant over lol! Great video and keep up the good work!

@@HallowedBeThyGame it's much more than what it appears when it comes to gameplay. I have to return back to it myself. I dove into that game hard when it came to PS5. It literally feels like an anime side scrolling souls game.

Other companies can take a lesson from the graphical approach of RS2 remake/ DQ3 remake. Remakes don't need to cost a fortune to look good.

I'm probably one of the few who will skip Metaphor for now. Atlus proven over and over again now that if a game is a commercial success, they will release another complete edition with more options in a year or two.
The hardest will be... not to get spoiled while waiting of the inevitable * golden/royal/reloaded * edition! The game looks awesome though, that's for sure.
The last thing i pre-ordered was Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes and got burned for it. The game is still buggy as shit to this day and the localisation is trash, people are defending it while calling others who don't horrible things. So yeah, no more pre-ordering for me, ill just pick up when its available.
That said, so many good rpgs coming out that i can't wait to throw money at it:
- Mario&Luigi looks fantastic and hopefully retains what made the gba/3ds games fun.
- Dragon Quest III i have been wanting to play so the remake gives me a good reason to (also have been playing through octopath 1 recently so i like the art style).
- Fantasian Neo Dimension was one i initially wasn't interested in but the people who have played it absolutely swears on it being a good game so that sold me on it.
- Romancing SaGa 2 remake i'll pick up despite owning the og game re-releases on steam because the re-amp mechanics just makes it look more fun to play.
- And yeah, MvC Fighting collection because it was the one fighting game i enjoyed as a kid and never really had a chance to revisit, want to get my hands on it before they figuratively take it away from us again lol.
There is more but my wallet is currently hurting from the steam sale and i'm not even done buying yet 😭
Wait Goblin Slayer? Does it comes with EN sub? If I remember correctly they don't have one, at least that's what I heard, when it was announced in playasia.
EDIT : after checking out playasia again and oh my god they have EN physical version, RIP my wallet.

apex heroines looks almost one to one copy of Honkai impact the third, which is a phenomenal game with GREAAT gameplay.. however its a gacha so pc/mobile only, but story and gameplay is SUPER FUN and so emotional and beautifully done. (made by ppl who made genshin before genshin, combat is way better than genshin imo and story is better and more fan service, all around better game imo)

I honestly would've liked it to be a action rpg since goblin slayer is actually in a shitty place rn considering season 2 was complete shit with garbage animation and terrible pacing🥺 i feel an ARPG would've definitely brought some attention to it they buried my boy
I imported Tokyo Xanadu for the Vita back in 2015, then the localized Vita version in 2017, and recently preordered the Switch port. Basically I’m triple dipping the game.
Preordered the MvC Fighting Collection a few days after it dropped in the direct.
Also preordered DQIII HD 2D Remake as well, I’m a Dragon Quest fan, don’t play other RPGs that much outside of DQ series, but do dabble in others.
As other games that I preordered that’s not on this list, SAO Fractured Daydream, Legend of Heroes Trails Through Daybreak, and recently the physical copy of Yars Rising.

I was tempted to get goblin slayer from red art in Europe but it looks really cheap from gameplay videos and not worth the price . Also I cannot understand why a srpg based on goblin slayer . I would expect a dungeon crawler or something like that
