@@HeyThatsKey not the same at all, isos transfer much faster than millions of individual files, i did a speed test and isos transfer twice as fast if you're doing a library of games, also isos take up less space, as individual files always take up extra space due to cluster size of 32kb / 64kb

This video is excellent, thank you for uploading it. I have a different softmod, and I was having issues moving games from my PC to the Xbox where the transfer would timeout repeatedly. I fixed this issue by changing the number of simultaneous transfers from 4 to 1. Hope this info will help someone out in the future. Again, thanks for the video :).
Thank you for the tutorial. I have a hardmodded Xbox, and I plan to install an SSD for reliability and for extra storage. I also plan on installing my Xbox games on the SSD for convenience sake. I will follow both of your tutorials.
This is getting me so excited. I cant wait! I just bought an original xbox and everything for it to softmod it. I already downloaded 100 plus games including emulators for it. Just waiting for everything to come in.
For those that don't have the option of connecting an ethernet cable to your router; You can use a crossover cable, and connect it directly from your computer to the xbox. This will allow communication between the devices. It HAS to be a crossover cable though. A regular ethernet cable will not work.
Note - Using a crossover cable, will also require you to set a static IP address on the xbox, which you can do through the settings.
I've done thus between 2 og xbox consoles before lol wasn't very stable but it did work
thought i'd chime in here, and say that you actually can use a standard ethernet cable. but, you will have to fiddle around in your network settings, and it only works on windows as far as i'm aware. if anyone wants a guide, let me know
Is there a way to transfer og Xbox savegame files to pc, which can be used in an emulator?
@AdioAurel I'm sure there is, but I've never done that, nor do I know how it's done.
There's an xbox controller port to female usb adapter that is used during the modding process, and I would think you could use one to pull saved game files off the xbox and onto a usb stick.
Alternatively, you could ftp into your xbox from a PC and try to grab the saved files that way.

Blaine I hope you see this. I have to extend my thanks. When I started the mod process often I was set back by gatekeepers who seemed disinterested in helping noobs get into the community. Today I was very close to calling it quits with getting a copy of a disc I have onto my hard drive (purchased from gamestop poor conditon) and I made the mistake of attempting to download disc images and put them onto my system. I was wondering why it was such a drawn out process. Anyways after trolling many forums and looking up suggestions in google I was at a loss. Fortunately I found your vid and have the will to keep going. Ill update tomorrow in this comment and give you a sub. You get a like for posting this though. Way too many people unwilling to help others educate themselves. Thanks again!!!
Worked perfectly. Thanks a ton for this video. I wish more would just be straightforward and simple. One note for any also attempting this. For the step converting the .7z files you need a program like winrar to extract the folders. Subbed.

Very helpful, I bought a soft modded xbox and the guy that thought that just dragging regular ISO's would work lol. Only game so far I couldn't get to work properly is the original Fable, the video is messed up but Fable Lost Chapters works fine.
My PC wouldn't extract a 7z so I had to use my brain and add a few steps but this was helpful, thank you.

Highly Recommend this method. FTP saved me for sure. My dvd drive is just in terrible shape as well as the games. @@sushicat8522 You gotta clear some room, but once you do, it should have about 4 gigs free on the stock hard drive. I had to go back and delete a bunch of saves for certain games like Kotor, as they took up a lot of space.

This only works if you replace the original hdd with a new, larger one though right? Or am I missing something?
@@sushicat8522 You can install smaller games in the original Xbox HDD (8 or 10GB) but it's pretty limited. After jailbreaking my Xbox I put a 500GB HDD on it and it's working great!
If still current, then YES! Will be trying to mod my first Xbox v1.2 soon since the clock cap finally went. Not bad for 20yrs. Lol. A lot I have to learn for the software end of things. TY!

What exact part are you having problems with? Connecting to router would be another option, instead of having xbox connecting to PC
Same here, when i ping the xbox its a timeout, also my router doesnt detect the xbox. The little LEDs at the lan port of the xbox are lighting up tho...
You have to add the periods in the ip address lol I did this for almost a year lol

I bought a cheap old home server, for £20 upgraded the old hdd to 2x 4tb hdds and i placed all my xbox, os2 and ps3 games on to them, and now run all my games off there thrugh my network. No need t copy anything across its all done in the fly. This video is great though. This is exactly how i was doing it for 15+ tea6rs before i buikt my server network.

Triggers + Back + Black is to exit the game when you’re finished playing.
interesting, I have never had the issue of having to start the game from file explorer first. They always just show up in that games tab for me. Great video though

2) I want to backup EPPROM key and unlock HDD
3) Want to play games directly from HDD as most of my games are heavily scratched and some will stuck mid gameplay.

I have a 1 tb original Xbox and loaded over time I loaded at least 40, 000 games. He is absolutely right, it's awesome. However, I fear losing them, I'm looking into getting a affordable ssd. I would be heart broken if that sata drive ever failed. 😳

I am in the process of doing this currently, but the site is not letting me download some of the games. Also, my Xbox is a Halo Green Edition and already modded with an excuter 3 mod chip. So.. having a little trouble getting to title screen of Xbox. Will keep giving it a go though

hey i have a question,i know how to transfer a game to hard drive,but the original hard drive only has a small size,i have seen some big games,like Metal Wolf Chaos (the game where you play with the prezitend of the united states) it has 6 GB,and i seen some other ones thats size.How do gemes have 6 gb when the DVD has 4.7 GB?

I copied Brute Force folder from that archive site to my xbox but upon running the loading screen icon bottom left of screen is paused doesn't load the game can't get passed that loading logo anyonw know why?

If you have a third party controller it won't work you need to have an original Microsoft controller for some reason some functions won't work with a third-party controller Xbox can be picky sometimes.
