- Check out my review of the new Netflix reality series, Jewish Matchmaking!
A new series from the producers of Indian Matchmaking, Jewish Matchmaking features singles in the US and Israel as they turn their dating life over to a top Jewish matchmaker. Will using the traditional practice of shidduchim dating help them find their soulmate in today’s world? - Развлечения
I loved your take on the show! Btw it was my in-laws on episode 7 who are married over 60 years. Thank you for your take on the show. You’re great! I loved the review and I’m sharing it! ❤
Wow, it's the star herself! I really enjoyed the series. Any chance we can get an update on the matches? We're all dying to know who's still together!
Hi Aleeza we love you! 🎉
This can’t be real life! What a nice surprise! Thanks so much, Aleeza! You really do some positive work for your clients. Loved the show 🙏
Aleeza! Hi 👋 I really enjoyed the show. Tait I enjoyed and agreed with you on every person and relationship! I hope there is a season 2!
Hi, would you do Messianic jews matchmaking with christians?
That Ori guy is a balding skinny mama's boy who still lives his parents and he DEMANDS a blonde haired/blue eyed israeli supermodel who is willing to move in with his parents and compete with his mama for the title of #1 woman in his life... oh man he was hilarious
Oy Vey! 😂
Ori seems immature and superficial. Part of it might be because he's a mommas boy and hasn't had to grow up.
That being said, We all deserve happiness, so hopefully he grows and matures and finds the right person!
😅. And he gets her! That’s so unfair. Meanwhile, they keep setting Harmonie up with old bland dudes when she’s like “I want passion”. Why didn’t she set up the surfer dude with her? That would have made more sense than with the Republican lady Dani.
I am an Orthodox Jew and I really loved this video. Your take on the show and learning about the Jewish community is so thoughtful and open, it is really heartwarming in this age of misinformation and divisiveness. I hope people treat you with the same kindness and good humor you show here.
There were times when I missed Sima Aunty’s straightforwardness, like when Ori wanted a really good looking partner. He, however, is not great looking (average at most). I could hear Sima Aunty bringing him down to earth and letting him know he’s not all that. 😂
Agreed Sima Aunty would have asked him if he had ever dated a super model and watch him fumble and proceed to take it off the list. She can trim the nonsense when she means to. She would have also told Dani to leave Daniel alone sooner.
Right, but realistically how many supermodel boyfriends and husbands are "good looking"?
They usually get with old Caucasian men that own yatches. Her looks equate to his money, whether you like it or not.
Ori guy seems douchey but he's wealthy so he's gonna get the best looking wife money can buy . 💰🤑 😂
He seemed more obsessed with blonde hair blue eyes than a general criteria of good looking.
@@igbokwenu4934 No, Ori is not wealthy. His parents are wealthy. He literally lives at home. It’s one thing to be average, but filthy rich and you own multiple homes, cars, businesses, etc. He is basically the family parasite. He doesn’t know what adulting is and it’s obvious he can’t survive without his mom telling him what to do.
😂😂😂😂 straight facts
“Plus, David wears red sunglasses like he’s fucking cyclops.” 😂I can’t with you!!
I could NOT get enough of Stuart, he was so funny, authentic, we needed more of him for sure. I low-key wanna be his friend 😭
Lmao those damn sunglasses! I love Stuart lol
I read somewhere that people online are thirsting over him and he's the new pete Davidson or something
@@donteverfckwithmyvibe 😳
@@Miss_Liz_ right?! lol
Stuart is my bestie in my head at this point! 😂
Can someone please help me (old chick) understand why it is that gentlemen who themselves are not supermodels always expect that they would attract supermodels? 🤣 Also, I am a brand new subscriber and you are accurate and hilarious!!
Talk about it. That Ori guy pissed me off alot
movies lol
@@BlackMorrisPNearMorrisey You can't say "how truly neurotic jews actually are" based on a netflix dating show, that's so unserious, my god.
@BacksANonKapSYone 😆 🤣 😂 You are so right!! Ori is definitely a 3, looking for a 10, when he living a 1 lifestyle off his momma. 😆😅
@@Blue74 i know actual jews . It wasnt at 38 year old i figured that one out. U must
Be jewish so THANK YOU FOR LEAVING MY PEOPLE OUT TO DRY.
Great review as usual :) Fun fact: I was a NYC matchmaker for 5+ years. It's hell on earth, especially when you have to deal with people like Ori. I got a little PTSD watching it honestly lol
Haha the way I ran 🏃🏻♀️💨 to Google the minute they introduced him😂 I’m like what? nooo… who is this guy? He makin us look bad lol
That’s a very interesting fun fact! Lol I gotta hear some of these stories!
@@TaitsTake I could write a whole book. Lol
His obsession to blonde hair blue eyes reminded me of colourism in the South Asian community 😳
This is Evan (Naykesha's Date), Thank you so much for the kind words
Aye!!! What’s up, Evan! Thanks for stopping by. You the man 😎
Hey hi. Hope things worked well for you two. BTW, when you came on the screen with those flowers I was impressed!
What happened with y'all...
You two looked so adorable together!
I love how people from the show are finding Tait's reviews and commenting 🤗💞
So glad you reviewed this! I like this one, but I felt like the singles were even more superficial than they were in Indian matchmaking! I like the matchmaker better here bc she actually listens… and wtf is up with all the cliffhangers??? We gone have to wait another year for more??? Netflix is gettin real messy with these 6-8 episodes.
Yes they need to give more episodes
yes its so estupid
I'm not sure Dani's ready for marriage, because she's already in a relationship... with her eyebrows. I agree that Stuart is the best!!! I hope to see him in the next season!
Those eyebrows were super distracting and I found them very masculine. She’s not very self aware. She also reminds me of Jenna Bush.
Tait's Take is always on it, and I love it!!!!! *The way you took time to research Judaism for your review is so beautiful and respectful.* 🤗
I didn't know this show was on yet until I saw your review yesterday. So when I got off work, I started watching it. Ori is...well ... to quote Forest Gump's principal, *"Your boy's Different."* 😆 🤣 Now you have me watching Jewish Matchmaking, AND Queen Charlotte all weekend. 😁📺
It’s a culture I know so little about so I was more than happy to have this opportunity to learn and pay it forward! I went down a nice little rabbit hole lol. Thanks so much for always leaving such kind comments 🥰
Only watched 2 episodes, but I have to say Ori is driving me crazy he can’t be fr. He literally said he needs to get his ish together and then is super arrogant in the next scene.
I do like the fact they did explained Judaism across the diaspora. This is something that Indian matchmaking misses on. We just see clips of successful arranged marriages, but that’s it.
you said everything i was thinking. i'm only a couple episodes in too and I dont have the patience for Ori and I enjoy the information about the religion. I also like the matchmaker's philosophies. Enjoy Tait's take as always
such a good point, like they even write off the caste issue in Indian matchmaking when it's so important to bigots in india
I agree she is better at her job, but i miss seema aunty walking in the doors of her client saying "Sima from Mumbai", Like they don't know that🤣🤣 i dont know why but that made me laugh
Lmao you know what. You ain’t said no lies!! Like yes we know, we invited you girl get yo ass inside and stop playing
I'm Jewish and I learned some stuff too. I also really loved the loving feeling I had when Aleza connected with each client. She felt really authentic and invested in each person and in her work. It wasn't something she was doing because it was a tradition, as much as I think it was a calling for her. I really felt her love was palpable. I think she particularly had an affinity for Harmony and Nakisha because when she ended her conversation she said I love you. I don't think she would have said that to Ari. And like you, I found him so obnoxious and cocky. I think the young men on the show were mostly cocky... I think the Sean guy and the last guy with Nakisha were not mean or shitty.. but the rest were obnoxious.
Loved this! Saying little person is totally OK, I own it and love being short and twitchy. Makes me a good time! Loved meeting you!
I was so happy to see you and Stuart get into a real conversation. It was beautiful. It's hard enough to go on a first date; having all the cameras around must make it even harder.
Was waiting for you to cover it, I loved watching Jewish Matchmaking. I agree that Aleeza's methods were better than Sima Aunty, maybe because she is a relationship coach as well. So she knows much more about people's dating expectations and handles it beautifully. I learned a lot to about Jewish culture. Also when it comes to comparison about the diversity shown on this show v/s IMM. I am an Indian and there are so many caste's and customs in India which are not shown in IMM, I feel Seema Aunty only touches upon few people's lives but there are many different sort of beliefs/gods in each region of india. It will be cool if they show that in next season, so non-indian people learn from the show, like I learned from JMM.
I binged the entire season just so I could come to watch your review. Nice work, as always.
I also loved Faye and Shaya couple and was really hoping that she would give in a little with her religiosity and meet him half way but she has her bar too high, he was sweet and polite and very charismatic
Greetings, from Argentina! I think that the Best Netflix can do with this reality shows, is to expose creeps like Ori and immortalize them, just for the archives. The nerve of Ori's demands. Puaj! Every time he appears on screen was so cringy. Stuart was my fav person too. The rest of the review, so on point. We are all learning here! More diverse content, more fun. Loved your reviews :)
He is the typical nerdy “ nice “guy
So glad I found you! My 95 yo mother is watching this show, and now I don't have to- I can have a conversation with her because I have all the info. It helps because tbh, my mother can't remember names so it's hard to follow what she's saying. You are so entertaining without mocking the culture; in fact, you seem to have gone out of your way to educate yourself. Well done, and completely enjoyable.
Very very nice comment to leave, thank you so much for taking the time to do that. I’m glad you liked it :)
I am not Jewish but I absolutely loved learning about their culture in this way. It felt very intimate and I appreciate them for sharing. And I loved the married couples in the beginning. I started watching the Indian matchmaking show because of this. 😄
Thanks for covering this! When it popped up on May 3, I was already looking forward to your review. I never ever comment on videos here but yours just really hit different. Keep up the great work!
Your review is high quality and you captured everything that I think they were trying to convey. Kudos 👏
It was so much to capture! I wanted to get as much as possible. Thanks so much!
Tait!! I found you during LIB and learned about Jewish Matchmaking from you. Binged the whole thing in one sitting, was waiting for your review ... and you did not disappoint! You're so good at this. Spitting knowledge while being hilarious. I loved Jewish Matchmaking and Aleeza is better at her job than Sima Aunty or any of the MAFS "experts." I'm rooting for everybody except Ori 🙄 and hope that a Season 2 is coming 🙏🏽
Your videos are the highlights of Indian / Jewish Matchmaking series. I came here right after finishing both and you did not disappoint. Please don't ever stop making these videos!
PS: when Ori stood up and broke into a dance in the middle of the restaurant I wanted to throw my mug at the TV. That guy pissed me off so much 😅
That dance still haunts me. Also. If you keep watching these videos, I’ll keep making em.
I couldn’t stand Ori. As soon as he said blonde hair blue eyes I knew I wouldn’t like him. Reminded me of Shake from LIB.
Aleeza honoured freaking ori's outrageous demands and setup a date with his dreamgirl whereas sima aunty wouldn't knocked some 60% reality check into his balding head. She was sorely missed there and then.
Please continue. I’ll be happy to support you on a monthly basis when I figure out how. I’m almost 72 and you have taught me a thing or 2.
Thanks!
This was such a nice note to read! I don’t have any monthly subscriptions as yet but I do have a merchandise store as well. Will work listing other ways people can support the channel. Very kind of you!
Great review! Your hilarious! I definitely loved this season and found it so educational, I wish indian matchmaking would be just as much because different religions and customs have been glossed over without any background given...I love the matchmaker, she seems so genuinely invested! Ori was crazy to watch! He's got huge expectations and zero self awareness.. but we all know we love to hate watch such characters! Will be interesting to see if he gets matched!!
I loved your take! This is the first Netflix show about Jews that I have seen actually positively portray my community. We’re a very diverse little group, and not all of us are white. I’m so glad the show actually showcased Jewish diversity because a common misconception about Jews is that we are all white and from Europe (which is just not true). Also, I wish Aleeza was my matchmaker. If I could afford her, I would call her up in a heartbeat.
Did they discuss money at all? I found it interesting that they didn't. Or atleast I didn't catch it.
Don't hesitate to call her. If she is a legit Shadchan, she only "collects" if she finds you a husband and her fee is paid after the chuppah (the wedding). And it isn't crazy. Considering what you get for your money, that is (talk about an investment!).
@@skontheroad not on the show but her website has links to apply for either matchmaking or coaching, and prices were listed.
@m I went online amd looked it up. It doesn't really have prices for "hiring Aleeza to find her a match". But that's not really how it works in our world (which is why I was interested), so I am not surprised. I am guessing the religious people looking to go the more traditional route and are interested in using her, probably just call her. There are a lot of Aleeza's in the community!
They filmed some of the episodes in my neighborhood. I can confirm the gelato is good as it looks. 🤣🤣
Lmao ok! I knew I wasn’t just hungry
I absolutely loved this series ... showcased the essence of Judaism ...was a learning experience for me.
The matchmaker Aleeza was SUPERB...HATS OFF TO HER.....Definitely looking forward to the next season.
🎉she’s a lovely lady. Her class is unparalleled
Her cat is on the spectrum?!!!! I can’t!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love all your reviews but this is my favorite. I am Jewish and SO impressed by how much you learned just by watching the show. And your perspective on the characters was spot on. 😂
I very much appreciate this note.
Bro this review is so thoughtful thorough on point and hilarious hahahaha I'm a fan. You're so right about Ori and Aleeza
as a Jewish person i want to commend you for how well you did covering this as someone who isn't Jewish. you were super respectful and i truly appreciate that you took the time to learn about our culture and the diversity of the Jewish community. thank you for this video! looking forward to watching more of your content :)
Very nice of you, thank you!!
I loved this show so much. The historical and religious context and history was amazing. As a Christian, I really felt so connected to Fay and her zeal and love for God.
Could someone please explain to Nekysha that the gene for balding is passed down from the child’s maternal grandfather. Ryan being bald would not predict for a bald child, but if Nekysha’s dad was bald, that would. Great review!
Ooh this is great to know because my dad still has a full head of hair and my husband's family is all bald by 35 😅🙌
Isn't that a myth . And it actually comes from both sides
That’s been debunked!
Loved this review! I also thought we needed more Stuart!! Some of my favorite lines from him were: asking the woman on the first date if she needed the campfire to play guitar, that he went from an XL to an L in clothing size so now he’s going to meet the love of his life, and the having to explain Curb Your Enthusiasm.
I also thought the guy from Delray (Harmony’s second date) was funny and would be perfect for my mom if she were single.
Haha love you looking out for your mom if she ever becomes single!
I kinda liked all of Harmony's dates! They just weren't her type, sadly, but all seemed like good guys!
I always watch your reviews on my tv so I can only give a thumbs up but can't leave a comment. For this one, I had to jump on my computer to let you know how good this review is! I thought this show was going to just be a "regular white people " dating show, which is fine, but we already have a lot of those. But you explained the cultural aspects and I love it! I really enjoy Indian Matchmaking so now that I know this show takes a cultural perspective, I'm looking forward to binging it.😂 Appreciate your take!
This is such a nice comment! I watch a lot of RUclips on my TV too so I definitely get the struggle. I’m so happy you liked the review. I really did learn a lot so I’m happy to share :)
Not you seeing David’s red sunglasses too! Lol
Aleeza is a breath of fresh air. I really liked this series, and agree that it’s better than IMM in many ways. Was bummed abt Fay and Shaya, too.
Cant wait for season 2.
I love Fay!!!!
That conversation with Shaya and his Rabbi was dope to watch too. I wanted Fay and Shaya together soooo bad.
I don't know but Shaya seemed highly confused and slightly unstable to me. His body langage each time he needed to defend his lifestyle and religiosity to Fay or the Rabbi was... unsettling.
@@InspiringYoungLady I felt such a personality switch up from him when he was talking with his rabbi
That kinda scared me a little like....who is this guy??😮
@@InspiringYoungLady I think he’s having an identity crisis, I think he’s in a community where the lifestyle doesn’t reflect how he actually feels about certain things.
You take every thought in my head & make it soooo funny. 10000% my favorite RUclipsr & yes, this show is gold in every way!
Fun review! As an Orthodox mom (who uses a matchmaker), I like the fact that Aliza represented us well. It wasn't 100% realistic as most Shadchans don't do it that way. But for a Netflix adaptation, they did a great job!
I was gonna watch 5 mins in my study break but I watched a whole 30 mins, you‘re just too hilarious^^. I love your sometimes real and sometimes wholesome takes. And the sparkle in your eyes is so beautiful :) I can see in the back you‘ve found your match already, have a lifetime of happiness!
30 minutes is always better than 5! Thanks for watching! Photo is my little sister but I still appreciate the kind words 🥰
Yesss I have been waiting for Tait’s take on this! Didn’t disappoint.
Seema Aunty does send her clients to therapist, live coaches and readers(depending on thier beliefs). You forgot? Fay and Staurt were gems amongst coals. I enjoyed the show but overall I thought many of the candidates lacked dimension. I didn't feel as invested in their stories as i did with the 1st season of Indian matchmaking. I am hopeful for a 2nd season though🎉
I was honestly expecting this show to be bad. I'd not seen Indian Matching and had never heard of this matchmaker, so I assumed it was going to be something going "look at this weirdo quirky stuff", or something like "and we'll show you the "correct way" of this.
But I was totally wrong. This show doesn't do any of the self stereotypes at all. It works as education and entertainment. I am just so happy it interests non Jews too! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
I'm legit praying each bight for a season 2 🤣
I enjoyed your review so much!!!!
As a modern religious Jew, I really loved the diverse representation of Judaism on this show. People outside the Jewish community are often presented with one view of what Jews are like, and it’s often negative stereotypes. What I appreciated about Jewish Matchmaking was how it normalized the spectrum of Judaism and how we’re just normal people - some of us are assholes and some of us are awesome.
I wish the show had explained some Jewish and Hebrew concepts a little better, because I feel like there was a lot of Jewish-specific lingo that non-Jews might have trouble understanding if they’ve never met an observant Jew before
Tait, kudos on the video clips you added. 🤣 This is a hilarious review!
This was so good! You are a great storyteller! Please recommend few more shows to watch!
Amazing recap! Love that you took the time to learn more about the culture!
I didn't even watch this show but Tait's take is so funny, I had to watch this video.
I am so impressed with your take on this show, Aleeza and the daters. You and I agree on pretty much everything. Very impressed with your pronunciation of the Hebrew words and the fact that you took the time to learn about the faith. You have a great sense of humour and I really enjoyed watching you
This made made laugh so much you explain it all so well and ur sense of humor is in point
Watched the show and immediately looked for your comments! Your view on things are hilarious, however, I got more out of the Indian matchmaking, this one just left me with an empty feeling.
I think in general that finding a forever partner these days is so much harder thanks to the swipe left and right culture. Everyone thinks that there is someone better just around the corner. Good luck to everyone out there looking for a lasting relationship.
Slight Tangent: When are we going to get *Black Matchmaking, with our host Tait's Take?!!* 🤔
Wow i just posted the same thing like 20 sec ago and now i reading it 🤣🤣🤣 hahahahahahahaha i dont know what would be better Tait hosting or participating 😁😁😁
Haha I would love to see that! Black people could NEVER let they family join their first dates!

Yess African Matchmaking would be so bomb esp since there's also a whole culture/history where Africans do get their spouses chosen for them and some do meet for the first time only on the wedding day...
Great review! I watched two episodes and enjoyed it. Being Jewish myself, I wondered how someone who is not would feel about it. Your take on it was spot on, loved all your comments
I just finished it tonight and couldn’t wait to check out your take! I totally agree- Elisa is much better than Sima Auntie. She was much more understanding and positive. I didn’t like how in some cases she still picked people who were so obviously not what someone was looking for though. But there did seem to be some potential matches in the end. I wish we had gotten an update at the end of the season with where things stand with some of them. Sima Auntie would say just deal with it and keep going out with them. I’m glad Elisa didn’t put pressure on like that. She seems much more in touch with today’s dating norms and flexible about what people want - no judgement felt at all which was nice. Your clips in between takes were great here too. I still remember the one bar mitzva I went to as THE most amazing party!
I was hoping you would review this! Great take as always. I really enjoyed this, prompted me to watch Indian Matchmaking finally
This show was a million times more wholesome than Indian Matchmaking! Absolutely loved Aleeza, everyone needs a matchmaker like her!

I must say this show was so sweet. Aleeza is love and meant to do this.
I saw the season 1, but listening to you explaining makes it more interesting 😁❤
Great review! I don't think I can compare the two shows, Indian Matchmaker and Jewish Matchmaker, I think they did a good job at highlighting the important aspect when dating/marrying in the respective communities. They made two great shows! Weldone Netflix! But they did a good job with Love is Blind Japan and Brazil so I am not surprised.
The nerd in me loved to learn all the Jewish stuff. I like the realistic take the matchmaker had, also the diversity was great and great advise.
Couple of the season is definitely Stuart and his second date they flowed the most out of any couple. I think his date is kinda is mildly famous because I have seen her on a few things and I don't even live in the US.
The worst one was definitely Ori I don't think he has ever dated his type. He needs a coach or something so he learns how to treat women. Harmony is a close second but it's kind of the matchmakers fault, she should have told her her options are limited based of the her age and her type because it showed in the dates. I am older are there are plenty of great women my age but most of the great guys are married and if they are single they are far from fit. Sima Aunty would have reminded her that pickins are slim when you are older as a woman dating to get married so maybe reevaluate your type. Shaiah is the third because I think he was putting on a show for Fay then got scared because she is a real one. Hope to see her again in the next season.
I can't wait for season two because with all those cliffhangers I need answers.
I’m still watching this show! So I don’t know if I should watch all of it, but I love your take and I love Aleeza. Ori is a douche. There was a polo-playing man on Indian Matchmaker who was similar. Love learning about Jewish culture in this.
