I have been a rubber stamper for 45 years, and needless to say - I have more stamps than I can count! This is a fantastic idea! As Samm Star already said, this is genius and yes, it DOES open up a whole new world to me! I am having so much fun watching your videos! I just discovered them last night and was up till 2:30 a.m. watching them!! And I’ve barely scratched the surface!
Steve-I just found your channel and I only have one thing to say...”WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!😁” I LOVE LOVE LOVE your energy and i finally found someone who enjoys experimenting with supplies as much as I do! You’re FANTABULOUS. Please keep making these videos. They make me SO FREAKING HAPPY!!
I love this idea 💡. I've been binge watching your videos this morning Steve thank yiu for the great distraction. I have a funeral at noon for my best friend mom & my Aunt passed away yesterday afternoon so you are keeping my mind elsewhere 💜
Love, love your work. New to resin & am so happy to have found you. Thanks for sharing your ideas & work & for being entertaining in your presentations. You are an artistic genius!
I'M NEW TO THE CHANNEL, and new to resin art, but I do know what I like. This is adorable, clever, and inspirational. I love Steve's videos, however, as a newbie, I have to watch at least twice to take in every morsel of tutorial. It doesn't help that I speak a different English than he does. I speak American English, hahahahahahaha. I'm also certain that he would hear an accent if he heard me speak. Thank you, Mr. McDonald for sharing.
Hi Steve, I think you are a natural, you should have your own program on TV ! This technique is fantastic, I will certainly be trying it! I think it would make a lovely stained glass window hanger ! Thanks for the great videos 😘
oh, I loved this video so much. I shall do some of those, and use them, as you said for Christmas tags - perfect. Steve, its totally ingenious how you came upon with these, loved the scene piece too. What I also love is that your laughter, makes me laugh too - awesome x
You're a genius! You've given me an idea for printing letter or fancy font for names etc - print them onto acetate - colour them and voila! I'll try that when I get home :)
This is so neat,I love it 😀 😍 and you can get alot of those stamps at $tree ,and investing in a couple different stays on ink pads ,is just adding to your art making arsenal, because they can be used in all forms of mixed media 😀 as always I pray that this day finds you blessed and paint splattered 👌 😍 🙏
Great stuff. I'm curious to know though, for the images being further embedded in resin, if the coloured acetate pieces themselves could be just put in ( thinner to cut and still see through) leaving out a step.
I love how making wedding invitations, has brought me to making cards with inks stamps, die cuts and embossing and this led me to soap making and now resin... Love how everything is interlinked! Great informative video, many thanks!
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts just tried jewellery making with resin yesterday... Thought my pale pink square glittery pendant was a bit... Lacking... Glued a semi circular pearl onto the center... Brought it to life!!
What a fantastic idea Steve. I'm new to resin and I'm enjoying your videos. You have given me so many ideas I'm not sure where to start. Keep them coming. Warmest wishes to you.
I recently became a subscriber and have thoroughly enjoyed your videos, this one has knocked my socks off 🤩. I was going to say I am a huge fan but I think I’m more of an addict, you are SO innovative and your ethos of reusing and recycling is right up my street 👍👏. Your enthusiasm and joy is catching. Many thanks xx
I’ve just come across your channel and wanted to say I really enjoy your videos. Especially the bloopers LOL! I am new to resin and have found a lot of valuable information from watching you. And you are SO adorable! Anywho thanks for sharing!
Great ideas and simple as well! I plan on using these ideas in the future! I really love how the coaster seemed to have NO bubbles! I really like the layering technique. I'm quite new to resin as well. Thank you so much for your tutorials! Hope you are all staying safe!
Do you mind me asking,I have a piece of plexiglass could I stamp and resin on that for the same effect. I found some nice holiday stamps to use on cards. Thanks🙂
I like how you did that piece with the house, the man, and the butterfly. Maybe you could do it in layers do give it more depth next time. I would put the man in first then let that cure, then do the butterfly in the next layer. Maybe even put just a bit of it behind the man. Then in the final layer (unless you were to add a color background) do the house. I think the extra depth might be cool. Thank you for the video Steve! I will definitely be trying something like this!
Thank you so much for this video! It’s very helpful and informative, I think you saved us a lot of time too by doing the experiments with different mediums for us. I can’t wait to try this with my stamps! 👍👏🙏
I have only recently found your channel & have binged watched alot lol. I think this one is going to be so useful for me, I see plenty of stamped keyrings in my future :)
This reminds me of my favorite craft as a child. Shrinky Dinks! I betcha if you used some make up setting spray that would work really well with that mica powder.
These are great! I love them and I will be using this technique! Fabulous! I need to give this some thought as to how I want to use them. Hmmmmm... you’re awesome. Oooooooo...maybe Christmas ornaments? Oh my, I commented before seeing your ornament. Silly me.
Mind blown!! 🎆 I've tried for years to achieve this effect with shrink with varying success. May I say if the alcohol markers dissolve the staz on ink, why not colour it from the back? You can always dome the resin over it if it's exposed. Just an idea. Thanks for your great tips as usual.
Have you tried stamping, then embossing? I was wondering if that would work for a stain glass effect? I'm just a beginner and learning lots from you! Thank you for sharing!
OMG 😱 Steve that was amazing!!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 but I have a question, I get my stamps tomorrow, and I didn’t get me an ink pad. I did get a brayed roller, could I roll out a bit of acrylic paint or some Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bombay ink on a piece of glass, and use my stamp on that to transfer to the acetate?
Steve McDonald Arts and Crafts I sure will I’m looking at the mailman right now, he’s dropping them off. I will let you know if it turns out. The acrylic paint’s I will be trying are liquidtex basic and goldens. The ink’s I will try are Dr. Ph. Martin’s and liquidtex acrylic inks. Oh and I may try arteza paint.
Love your videos I just discovered. I subscribed could you please tell me what is the support on what you put your stamps ? acetate ?. Thank you for sharing your passion
They also sell a stamp cleaner solution that is specially formulated for the Stazon inks. Alcohol is tough on stamps, over time. It’s well worth it to buy the special solution. I’m sure you can get it on Amazon, or any craft store that sells Stazon stamp pads.
Watching some of your older videos. Wonderful ideas 💡!!! Wondering if you ever used the alcohol/mica powder mixture in place of actual alcohol inks (the ones that fade)?
I love your videos I've learned so much. I want to try making little decals with this method. Thank you so much for sharing your gift and talent with us. What mold did you use to put the decals in to make the scene? I didn't see the link with your other links. Thanks again 😊
I really like this idea, so your using the acetate sheets, right now i have the vellum sheets, do you think that these will work? Oh are the acetate sheets reusable, thanks for showing what's best to use on the sheets, such great ideas here, thanks.
Interesting idea. Can you put the figures in at different depths? So upon looking at the man he is standing ahead of the mushroom? Or do they all look to be in a flat surface. Hard to tell in a video. What about a thin layer of light blue in the back? This would make great Christmas tree decorations to hang in front of a light.
Steve I just love your stickers!! I'm definitely going to have to give this a try, and by the way... You do know that you can get the same results from a heat gun as you get from the torch, right? It won't burn or ruin you the moulds like the fire does, give it a try I'm sure you won't be sorry 😘 from Montana
Hi Steve I done coloured keyrings with a wooden letter as a initial but I was forever getting up to to push them back down as they had risen any tips on keeping them down please

I have a quick question for you: can I use inkjet transparency sheets instead of the acetate? Just curious as I already have some... Thank you so much for all the invaluable tips and tricks you share@ You are absolutely Brilliant!!😘
You sure can. You can even use those plastic to go box lids u get from ordering hot wings or any hot foods usually have the metal tin n plastic lid. Or any plastic packaging from things u buy from the store.
"I'm quite good at making scenes" really made me laugh - I really like this technique and the little pictures look so cute!
