Get the back off the stickers by putting a piece of tape on the back, leaving a piece hanging off. Put another piece of tape on the front, same as the back. Grab the end of each piece of tape with each hand, and pull apart. Easy peasy and safe. 😇
I have the same UV lamp as yours and I found if I hold the lamp about 9"-12" above the mold/resin and sloooowly lower it as it's curing my pieces don't curl. I used to do the same as you, setting the lamp directly down on top of the mold, and my pieces got too hot and curled. I also cure the backs longer the thicker the piece is. Don't de-mold your pieces until they're fully cooled to keep them from bending and curling. I have a quart size Ziploc bag full of bent and wonky pieces that I'm going to give my ex to use as ornaments on her Xmas tree. The stickers you used are beautiful!!
I have loads of lamps, had to go check which one I used for this video, bending resin is a new one on me, never had that other than when all my resin was doing weird things during our heatwave.
@@miniscenesgb We've already had our first snow here in Utah and I'm curious about how my resin will react to the warmer, dry air from my furnace. I'm sure I'll have some interesting pieces! LOL
@@thatlindgirlinutah5829 the changes in atmosphere do make a big difference, and just as you get used to how it's behaving this season - it changes again lol
Twisting the jump-ring also strengths the jump-ring. I always give it few twists back and forth as this helps to get the ends kissing nice and tight. Like the stickers they are pretty.
Lovely video! You are a great teacher! I need to work on that in my videos. I have communication issues and so getting out what I want to say, how I want to say it is really hard. It is a lot easier to type than talk because I have that tiny quarter second I need to find the words I want. But then sometimes it then comes out before the word before it is even out. It really is pretty crazy driving. Haha! You are smooth and easy to listen too. I love it!
You can do it! Yu come over very well in tour videos. Surprisingly good for someone so new to RUclips. Go with the flow, have fun. I learned editing from messing with iMovie - easy, low tek and cheap and I don't spend mush time on it - it's not my forte :)
@miniscenesgb Thank you so much for your encouragement. You didn't need to do that. Especially as a fellow RUclipsr. Most are ruthless. I am very forward thinking and feel we will all grow as people if we share our knowledge with everyone so they don't make the same mistakes we make. Sadly, I have A LOT to share! Haha!!!! Again, thank you, Tracey!
Yes those work to a point. Thick items drive me crazy. I want to learn how to wire wrap next as some of the mini geoses I'm making nothing off-the-shelf will fit
Oh these are lovely, I just finished a whole batch of resin projects today from earrings to some little bunny moulds. Only thing is after working with resin for a few hours i won't be able to do any more for up to a month because I am VERY sensitive to resin but especially the UV light oh and Tracey I don't know if you realise but if you hold on to the button on your light until it comes on it will stay on for a full 2 minutes (I've got the same one) and that's with me wearing a barrier cream cotton gloves AND the usual latex gloves as well as the respirator and goggles hair and sleeve protectors ... right royal mad scientist😜so looking for some different resins to see if there's one that will help even a little bit as right now im at the crazy itch stage with loads of cream on with cotton gloves so any suggestions would be most welcome sorry for any mistakes it's harder with gloves and an insane itch☺
yeh I know :) I just like to keep checking it and it is on for 2 mins on the bits I cut. I;m ok with UV resin , and most brands of epoxy though I do PPE like mad :) The one I react to I only have to be in the same house as it and I flare up. it's very nasty isn't it
@miniscenesgb ah good there's not many ppl realise that and I'm the same I like to keep checking too. Thank goodness you've found other options .. it's sheer crafts I'm having problems with but thankfully it's nearly finished and I've got a new UV resin to try so fingers crossed 🤞
@@jholmes880 the different brands all have different compositions. Had the same thing happen, forgot my gloves and a few days later I looked like my hands had been in a fire...awful, has taken forever to heal. Had never had a problem before using UV. No problem with epoxy. The UV was a cheap brand I ordered off the internet. I will stick to name brands & wear my gloves from now on.😵
Very pretty 😍 I still have yet to try using UV resin, I have 3 bottles of 100g each, but I haven't found the perfect mold or fillers to want to start yet.
@@farialmab4723 I do have the UV lamp as well, and many, many molds! Having so many to choose from might be one reason I haven't started yet, the other two main reasons are not enough filler supplies, and inspiration.
@@DAsAngel1960 you don’t actually need much “filler” stuff if ANY, there’s Tons of inspiration on RUclips and best of all, you can pick several molds and only work in one individual shape from each, if you want, (that’s the beauty of UV), flexibility and small scale use make it very versatile! (As Long as the molds are Small and CLEAR!) if we lived near by, I’d say we could work on a couple together to get you started! Are there any color jewelry pieces that you could use for your wardrobe? That might be a jumping off point, …start with a small, itty bitty piece and go from there. You can always ask me any questions you may have too, and the LOVELY resin Artists on RUclips are very helpful and friendly! Our current channel hostess is a Prime example! 💕
Oooo I like those moulds. I like the look of that resin but I do prefer a thicker one so I’m on the fence with it still. I loved those stickers though they were so very English if you know what I mean ❤
I found that all UV resins will "curl" if allowed to get too hot. Found that out the hard way when I was trying to make those thingies that whirl around on a ball bearing. Can't remember what they're called... First, I poured the resin a bit too deeply (1/8th"). Then, I set my lamp on for 90 seconds right away. Whew! It got SO hot I couldn't even touch the mold! so, I tried again at 50 seconds. Nope. Too hot and it still curled. I found I had to use 15-30 second bursts & thinner layers, letting it completely cool off before doing it again. And again...and again. 🙄 But, it worked. No more curling or shrinking. That Apex UV resin looks wonderful! I don't think we can get it over here, though. Those stickers are so pretty and they're from Temu!
Yes it seems heat cures UV resin too. It's not usually this hot over here so this was news to me :( I always cure like that, I have 14 lamps now, never had curling, that’s a new one on me. Uv resin acted weird during the heatwave though. The stickers can curl as plastic just does when the heat of resin hits them
you can hold the button down and it'll do 120 seconds. It's because most of these style of lights were originally designed for nail art. My one that clips on the desk with a gooseneck will stay on as long as you leave it on. I've ended up with a load of lights for different purposes lol
That sticker is WAY too obvious in that resin mold, imo. I can clearly notice the boundary between the resin and the sticker. Perhaps if the 2nd pour of the resin used a tinted resin, it would be better? Thanks for posting, this is a very informative video!

Yes, if you have the lamp, it’s quite fun and you can learn by trial and error! But the UV Resin does get old, so don’t wait TOO Long! 😉
