Michelle, to figure out which part they used in your pigment paste, pour a little bit of part A in a tiny cup and stir in your pigment paste. If it sets up, they used part b. Also, vice versa
I was basically going to say the same thing. Just use the minimum amount of one part (A or B), mix it with the pigment and pour it into an old mold. If it hardens then they used the other part. If it doesn't harden then they used the other part. Most pigment pastes use the hardener though, since having extra hardener doesn't really hurt resin. 😅👍🏼
Hi Michelle, great video as always!! For the pigment paste you can also heat the paste with a heating gun or close it tightly and put it in a hot water bath!
Love bookmarks. Get them while they're still bendy, bend the ends together and they'll stick. Then put them together in a chain and you'll have a sun catcher. They're pretty to do 3/4 mica and 1/4 alcohol and separate with some glitter
Well, I must say they came out so gorgeous. You know what great gifts to gift to people for stocking stuffers. There are so many things.Thank you, Michelle, for another great video. Please have a blessed evening.
I really enjoyed this video. I too started resin about 2 yr ago & bookmarks was one of the first things I did,but I didn’t know the UV trick. We are always learning…….thank you for the tip
I have made personalized bookmarks with my cricut. Top coated with resin. Never thought to use UV resin but this is a game changer. Thanks Michelle! You bookmarks come out so good! ❤
Awe so sweet . Now I wish I owned book mark molds just so I could have one for my Bible journal Michele. Of course I also don't have the same stickers but hey ya know it's the thought. Thank you so much Michelle. This helps me a lot. I'm a newbie to resin and plan on making the small stuff like bookmarkers, keychains, earrings and pendants. I'm a soap maker and wax melt maker, and I'm going to be venturing into resin. Thank you again.
I wish my other half like hobby lobby as much as me, the pure mention of Hobby Lobby sets off an attitude twitch that last for forever..... So I usually only go when he is at work or if I'm out running errands without him. I began with bookmarks and keychains because ”I’m just trying resin out”. That was 5 years ago and I’m hooked. The room is full of stuff for my projects. It’s almost too much. But it’s thanks to you and Wendy at Toonpish that I still enjoy making resin.
Thank you for sharing tips and tricks. Alot of the others don't. Have you tried heating up your pearl pigment paste? That might help it. Love the projects.
Hi Michelle. Thanks for doing this episode as I am a newbie. Been watching a lot before I begin. Have only attempted UV resin projects. I saw Julie on Pouring Your Heart Out put her paste into the microwave when it was too hard. Maybe try that to loosen it up? She did it because it’ was cold in Australia. Good luck and God bless!
Bonsoir Michelle.
Don't do that unless your microwave is not for food. The person who does that has a microwave in her craft room for crafting, not food. And not making that very clear every time she says that is very negligent and harmful.
I 💜 all your videos. The best thing I learn from you is how to fix my mess-ups. I feel your frustration from the tray you practiced several times. I had a project that didn’t come out the first time & tried again & I think it will come out better than the vision I had for it originally. To quote Bob Ross - happy little accident! I would like to know what kind of rhinestones you use - are they more craft-like in the bead section of Hobby Lobby or more of the glass faceted rhinestones?
Hi Michelle why not try placing the thick paste jar in a warm water bath to warm the paste up in turn would probably loosen the consistency just thought if you do try please let me know if it worked for you x
Thank you for sharing your self taught expertise with us! I'm a newbie to this and I'm anxious to do some bookmarks with dried flowers. Thank you again. And yes I would appreciate you sharing more tutorials. So how would I add my dried flowers?
Please don't unless your microwave never heats food. The person who suggests that has a microwave dedicated to her craft area that is not for food. She's negligent by not stating that every time she says it.
@HelenHywater Thank you for saying that. I wish the RUclipsr who says to do that all the time would say that. I've commented on several of her videos to make sure your microwave isn't for food if you do this and my comments usually disappear within a day. Which is alarming.
Nice bookmarks! I don't have a Cricut, so can't do some things. I would be interested in some bookmarks with inclusions on a ideo. I have three bookmark molds. Mostly, I have used UV resin for the bookmarks, but have to watch bc they tend to want to curl up on the ends.
Hey Michelle! I was wondering (depending on the design you wish to have on the bookmarks) why wouldn't you use the "bad" side to cover up with embellishments. That's usually what I do if I have flaws like unmixed powder or paste. this way, both sides will be good 😁 but again, depending on the design. Anyway, love your work, looking forward to seeing your videos! ☺
I've made a lot of bookmarks, so your ideas will definitely be tried next time. Also what brand is your drill, I've check your list on several videos, but didn't find it listed. Love all your video's!
Love these! I haven’t played with UV Resin, only epoxy resin. How long do you put them under the lamp for? When do you use 2 min, 3 min or 5 min settings? I need to buy some supplies to play around with it. TFS!
Timing just depends on the resin you use and how thick it is. I just leave everything under there until I'm finished with all of them, more doesn't hurt anything at all.
Hard type is thinner and high viscosity is very thick. Same cure just as hard it just depends on how comfortable you are using them in different viscosities.
Take a tiny bit of that thick pigment and put it in a pot with your part a or part b. Wait 24 hours to see if it cures, instead of ruining a whole pot of pigment 😊
It's all the "extra" resin I have after videos that just get's piled into a mold. Then I will unmold it and have a give away for the piece. I fill different pieces all the time. There are many different resins in that piece (just not UV resin)
Definitely turned out cute and it's a nice tutorial for beginners. 😁👍🏼 Don is hilarious! 😂 I really like the shape of the earrings. They look somewhat similar to some crystal earrings I had a while back. Can you tell me what mold you used for them? 🤔 BTW, filling those molds with scraps of resin is cool but I see too many people just pour it in the colors in just one spot. I think the final result might be more interesting if it was poured in wavy lines and streaks of color with a tiny bit of clear resin tossed in to separate the colors a bit. So, MOSTLY resin scraps with a bit of clear to make it look more purposely done. Does that make sense? 😅
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 Oh, good. Sometimes I confuse myself trying to describe things online because I'm the type that usually describes things with lots of hand gestures, lol. 😅 Thanks for letting me know where the mold came from. I'll have to see if I can find it. ☺️👍🏼
Michelle, i saw Julia from Pouring Your Heart Out puts her paste in the microwave to make it not so solid. Of course, don't use your food microwave for this😉

Hi Michelle, great video as always!!
For the pigment paste you can also heat the paste with a heating gun or close it tightly and put it in a hot water bath!
I have been doing resin since 2020 and I am still learning
I saw someone on RUclips put their pigment paste in the microwave for 10 seconds to get it back to normal again. Bookmarks and extra turned out good!
Don't do that unless your microwave is not for food.
When doing the paw print, try using a syringe to put the resin in the toes. Just an idea. Laurie
