Hi Claire! Gorgeous bookmarks! I used a Scan n Cut DX for cutting out - quick hint - weed BEFORE you remove the excess and if you put a cutting box around your word you can save so much vinyl - (that loss would have upset me too! ) sticky stuff will come off with either being tacked with another piece of vinyl - or a touch of alcohol on an ear bud. hope that helps - its all good learning fun!

Windows 10 has software for screen recording pre-installed. Just press the windows key and G once you're in design space. It will ask you if you're playing a game (because it's meant for recording game play). Press yes and a little tool bar for screen recording will pop up! It's as easy as that.

Those are so elegant. I just bought a cricut and am learning slowly. Weeding is painful. I struggle with it too. These are sweet. Congratulations on 40,000. I think alcohol will get the sticky off. I’ve used it on my projects where the contact paper left a sticky mess. Love these.💕

She also has a free course called Cricut Kickoff which takes you through setting up & using your machine along with using design space, I’ve just done after having my machine for a year & found out things I didn’t know about lol.

Love these. The black and gold and the blue and silver are my fave. The blue looks like the ocean to me. I have found that a pin tip works best for a lot of that small weeding. @@ClairesCraftyCorner hey 👋 sorry I’ve only just seen this 🙈 reverse weeding is where you weed your vinyl when it’s on the transfer tape as opposed to weeding first and then applying your transfer tape. It’s good for when you have intricate fonts to weed. I hope that makes sense.

Weeding tiny bits like inside the e is tricky and takes some practice. I think you definitely need to use the cricut more. You’re going to love it. I recommend Jennifer Maker here on RUclips - she has some very basic videos and some really good project ideas. On another note - is that purple bookmark for sale?

These are so cute! To remove the sticky stuff on your pink one, you can rub it with a bit of oil. I usually use coconut but baby oil, olive oil etc will all work to remove the goo! Could you let us know what kind of resin you are using? I'm sorry if I've missed that in the description box.

I tried to look through your comments but too many so I'm sure someone told you already but whatever lol To elongate you text or image , click on the little lock that is on the lower left of your "work box" on the screen that allows you to move or stretch in any direction. So you can make short fat word of long skinny. I'm struggling with the wedding so far to but practice, practice, practice lol

@@ClairesCraftyCorner of really does add a nice professional finishing touch to do many resin projects. My big issue is my pc is too old, tablet apparently is not compatible, and my android phone is only partially functioning with design space 😕 but I'm figuring it out lol

I believe you can remove the sticky with alcohol. Just keep practicing, also you can stick the transfer tape to your shirt before putting over the vinyl and it wont be quite as sticky. Watch Maker's Gonna Learn and Jennifer Maker for great Cricut tips. Also if you have a place that sells clear shelf liner it is a bit less sticky but still works well. Here in the US they sell it at the Dollar Tree (where everything is a dollar).

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Use a heat gun or hair dryer when removing and there will be little to no glue left behind. Methylated spirits will take care of what's left.
Black and gold is such a great combination, love it!! Would you try some vinyl words on Jesmonite maybe, would that work/ stick? I was browsing around for a Cricut machine, but I think it's quite pricey so mayyyybe... Christmas wish? xD As for removing the mess, I've got 'De-solv-it - sticky stuff remover' works like a charm for removing sticky labels off anything so I think it should do the job, £4.49 on amazon currently so not too bad. Fantastic video again, Claire!

When you're typing in your text in Cricut you'll see a little lock sign in the left bottom corner. Click on it. It will open the lock and let you make your text longer without making it bigger. Congrats on 40k.
Ahhh I love these!! And yes the weeding process is a b*tch! I’m still having all the same problems you are with the transfer process. It’s probably already mentioned but you can unlock the image to adjust the size in either direction independently. Love them all though! They are gorgeous!! Great job lovely!!

They are functional yes ... just will leave your book open open 🤣🤣🤣 it won't close like it would with paper .. but I am going to attempt to do thinner ones ... the hardest thing I found is that the moulds are soooooo shallow ... that even the thinnest layer might will then need lots of sanding around those potentially sharp edges. Xx 😢
I'm making bookmarks as well and it is taking forever (over 24 hrs) for the epoxy to cure to where it isn't sticky. My studio is usually cold but I use a space heater near it and it's still taking forever. What am I doing wrong?
question: I make these all the time and fine that my bookmarks comes out a little bendy. Now mind you, I measured my 2 parts correctly and they sit for about 7 hours. Should they be hard after that amount of time? When you remove your bookmarks have you ever experience any softness or do they ALWAYS come out super hard?
heyyyy lovely ... 7 hours they will still be bendy. Most resins are 24 hour cures. If your resin is a fast cure resin then they still may take 24 hours to be hard as its a thin pour. Having said all of this ... there can still be a very very slight bend as its a super thin pour. but they should be bendy bendy .. you shouldnt be able to fully bend them xx
Certainly RUclips will send you for a free McDonald’s meal for 40K. Girlllll… you were black and gold when black and gold wasn’t cool. You should name the Cricut Firuzeh: it means blue, technically turquoise. The bookmarks are a bit thick, but they are really pretty. Maybe pouring less resin would work.

I believe you can remove the sticky with alcohol.
Just keep practicing, also you can stick the transfer tape to your shirt before putting over the vinyl and it wont be quite as sticky. Watch Maker's Gonna Learn and Jennifer Maker for great Cricut tips. Also if you have a place that sells clear shelf liner it is a bit less sticky but still works well. Here in the US they sell it at the Dollar Tree (where everything is a dollar).

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Use a heat gun or hair dryer when removing and there will be little to no glue left behind. Methylated spirits will take care of what's left.

In a pinch - Put a sewing needle in a mechanical pencil .. add a dot of glue to secure it if it wants to fall out. 👌

Black and gold is such a great combination, love it!! Would you try some vinyl words on Jesmonite maybe, would that work/ stick? I was browsing around for a Cricut machine, but I think it's quite pricey so mayyyybe... Christmas wish? xD As for removing the mess, I've got 'De-solv-it - sticky stuff remover' works like a charm for removing sticky labels off anything so I think it should do the job, £4.49 on amazon currently so not too bad. Beautiful Claire! I just got a cricket too and weeding is my least favorite thing to do! A pin pen works much better with small letters like that e. 😊. It’s made weeding much more enjoyable for me. Congratulations on reaching 40k. Much well deserved!

When you're typing in your text in Cricut you'll see a little lock sign in the left bottom corner. Click on it. It will open the lock and let you make your text longer without making it bigger. Congrats on 40k.

Ahhh I love these!! And yes the weeding process is a b*tch! I’m still having all the same problems you are with the transfer process. It’s probably already mentioned but you can unlock the image to adjust the size in either direction independently. Love them all though! They are gorgeous!! Great job lovely!!

Heat removes vinyl hairdryer. Great job. But you vinyl when cut with the little cricut burnished, letters come iv easier then

They are functional yes ... just will leave your book open open 🤣🤣🤣 it won't close like it would with paper .. but I am going to attempt to do thinner ones ... the hardest thing I found is that the moulds are soooooo shallow ... that even the thinnest layer might will then need lots of sanding around those potentially sharp edges. Xx 😢

The book marks look fab...it all looks a bit techie for me though...will nail varnish remover lift the vynil? It removes adhesive.

Have you ever tried putting the vinyl in the resin?
I'm making bookmarks as well and it is taking forever (over 24 hrs) for the epoxy to cure to where it isn't sticky. My studio is usually cold but I use a space heater near it and it's still taking forever. What am I doing wrong?
I am new to the resin bookmarks also. How long did it take for them to cure

question: I make these all the time and fine that my bookmarks comes out a little bendy. Now mind you, I measured my 2 parts correctly and they sit for about 7 hours. Should they be hard after that amount of time? When you remove your bookmarks have you ever experience any softness or do they ALWAYS come out super hard?
heyyyy lovely ... 7 hours they will still be bendy. Most resins are 24 hour cures. If your resin is a fast cure resin then they still may take 24 hours to be hard as its a thin pour. Having said all of this ... there can still be a very very slight bend as its a super thin pour. but they should be bendy bendy .. you shouldnt be able to fully bend them xx

Certainly RUclips will send you for a free McDonald’s meal for 40K. Girlllll… you were black and gold when black and gold wasn’t cool. You should name the Cricut Firuzeh: it means blue, technically turquoise. The bookmarks are a bit thick, but they are really pretty. Maybe pouring less resin would work.
