They all look great but as you say the flake one's stand out more.😍 The one's with the flakes in the middle stand out good as well.🤩 Great crafting song 👍
Idea: Burnish your “crystal” areas with your chosen material. Then, use a marbled mix of opaque resin in your chosen colors as your pour. I’ve seen some other channels experiment with that recently. Also, using translucent resin for the crystals, and Resin Crete or an Eco for the stone. Again, with the incomplete mix of the pigments.
That was kinda what I was trying to do with some of them. The marbling is tricky on such a small scale but I must try. I was trying to do different to other channels. I'll keep playing and try that one again :)
Very pretty. I think that if you want to make it look more like a geode you could put the jewel tone colors only on the inside and then Rock colors on the outside
What I’ve seen a couple other crafters do: specifically painting the mould with the powder of choice, then burnishing it in where you want it to be. With chameleon flakes, and metal leaf, I’ve seen them applied before and after curing.
That is what I do in this video :) I was trying several techniques - that is the technique in use in most of them after the first batch. it's the most common method
Such a fun video. I love how you always try something new and experiment. You are so down to earth and I feel like I’m hanging out with a friend! That song is perfect!!😉💜

The colours you used are just simply gorgeous !!! I was wondering with the centers could you fill them with resin would that give it a more defined 3d look ??? LOVE the black backing always brings out the colours

You have a geode invasion, they are all gorgeous, thank you Tracey. Love them. X❤ Are they big enough to put more than one colour in, maybe a lighter one in the centre, and darker as you go towards the edges xx
Hi, I'm new to your tutorials and I'm glad I found you. I think the flakes are best, but ALL are gorgeous. I really love the music, very fitting. I've never made these, but I was wondering - how about look online at pictures of real geodes, and try to copy them? Just a thought. The moulds are great aren't they. Hope you're having a great weekend. Take care, and have fun xx❤❤😊😊
Thank you so much! I have loads of real geodes. it's replicating them in resin that is tricky Not too difficult on a larger scale but these are soooo tiny :)
I've just got to the and you've solved my problem, Tiny Turner chameleon flakes all the way...have you tried Emma's new ethereal flakes yet? Mine arrived today so I know what I'll be doing tomorrow 😂 ❤❤❤
I wonder if you used the ethereal in the center and the darker chameleon around the rest if you'd get a good effect. Thanks for sharing your experiment.
I'd try using the glitter or chameleon flakes only on the center(raised bits). Then I would use a pearlescent for the remainder in a lighter color matching the center, like glitter in a dark purple and the rest in a lavender pearl. It should make your center crystals pop. Or do that in reverse, crystals light and the rest dark. Either way, your center will be the spotlight. Did any of that make sense?😊
I almost want to see a dull milky thin layer down first and then put a layer of your sparkly bits for the middle and then top the back off with black... Does that make sense? I feel like most geodes have the sparkly insides, whereas you are doing the sparkles throughout the whole thing...🤷♀️😅
I need a clear Pu for notebook covers, this looks like a perfect choice thanks. All the colours you used look stunning, what are you going to use all those cool geode shapes for?
No idea to be honest. Someone suggested just put them all in a bowl, someone else said they would be fab wire wrapped - so I'm totally open to suggestions. Yes I have used clear PU for things like that, works a treat
@@miniscenesgb Wire wrapping would look lovely, what unique necklaces they'd be. Yes wire wrapping is a great option. Re sand = Try Coral Sand, it's for marine aquariums and it's lighter coloured which looks good in resin and if you get a sealed bag from an aquarium supplies store it's been sterilised and super dried. so if you keep it in a sealed container it will stay that way
You could arrange them in the bottom of a coaster. Sort of like a nest Then take one of your dragon figurines or something such as and prop it in the middle and fill with resin. I would let the geodes sit above the surface slightly in the coaster. Now you'll have a display as well. Am I making sense?
