Two tips for preventing bezel leaks: one is to have them on a slightly soft material (felt or foam sheet) so there's a slight dip when you push down. Second, and this works best, you take a toothpick and run a thin bead of UV resin on the inside edge of the bezel and cure it; you get a complete seal that way.
I love your you always say, "I'm so messy"! Well friend, me too! But your work is so beautiful and the different techniques you share are invaluable! Thank you so much 👍
I have never had leaks with my open bezels when I lay them flat on the bezel tape and I push them down applying pressure and move them in a circular motion, it makes it seal all around where the bezel connects to the tape.
All of those are really good ideas. i especially love the peacock feather! I put some feathers in resin but I used hairspray on them and they kept their shape and color. The tape is a great idea for all kinds of things. Thank you for the ideas!
I really envy you and your shed. I could spend hours on end in that shed, playing with resins and crafting away. My main thing is paper and card based crafts, such as cardmaking, some drawing and painting and also computer graphics. I could spend a fortune on craft stuff - art and craft shops are very dangerous places for me!!! Love your videos.
Hi Steve. Having watched you tape feathers gave me a great idea, and I've been saving intersting feathers that come out of my throw pillow. I plan on using them in my resin projects, and I'll buy some other feathers too. I also like your use of nail polish on the base of bezels and cufflinks. I plan on trying that too. Thankx for showing how to use feathers and nail polish in resin.
If you like the J Diction uv resin you will love the Pixiss brand uv resin. I loved the regular epoxy resin in that brand and I found out they had it in UV resin oh my Lord I got some and it's just beautiful crystal clear no discoloring it's just beautiful and it's fairly cheap I think I paid oh jeez11 for to 100 g bottles or something like that and I also like the decorum UV resin that has a four leaf clover on it that stuff is really good my daughter likes the kind that's a little bit more watery but that's good for making jewelry too
I bought that UV resin the first time I bought resin and thought all resin was that nice. Nope. I keep that little torch handy and just give the resin a bit of flash and then I can move the pieces into my big sun lamp. Found that saves spills. Glad to see you doing these things too. Makes me feel like I actually am getting the hang of this resin. LoL
With the texture on the square pendant, you could have used transparent coloured resin and produced the appearance of champleve enamel. I love the ones with the peacock feathers, they make me think of Russian icons.
Whats the technique with the popping of bubbles, I used a long handled lighter like yours but I must have got too close as the end went black and left a horrible black smudge in my resin piece.
Hi Steve. I would like to join your RUclips community but unfortunately have lost the link to do this. You are an inspiration and I love watching your videos 👍
Wonderful tips!!! Love the feathers... Where did you get the cufflink blanks? I haven't been able to find them or quality ring blanks ( not the adjustable ones). Stay crafty. Ringy-dingy👍🔔🔔🦋🦋🎅🎅🎅🎄🎄🎄
Wondering as a former nail tech that still has the UV lamps that I used to cure gel, if the same UV lamps would work with J Diction UV resin to cure it?
Help! I afraid I have really screwed up a project! Will resin melt plastic soda bottle? Please help me out here. Ive put so much work into this and it’s my first resin project.
Hi, from Florida. I've not had a lot of luck with using UV resin. It rarely gets fully cured. I use either a UV flashlight or a nail salon type light. At the very least, my item comes out sticky. Sometimes I'll get a bubble of uncured resin in the middle. Will this UV box light take care of this problem? Can I use molds in it?
Minute sheet of every size at well if you're in the US it's Walmart it's 3M brand and they're laminate sheets and they come in like photo sizes like any size for photographs or passports but I use it for when I'm trying to do stuff like this with resin so that I can like in case it so it doesn't ruin what I'm trying to encase in the resin it's not as cheap as packing tape you know I get it but it has a better Bond sometimes the packing cake that you get might not stick together very well but yeah it's a 3M laminating paper or laminating tape it comes in different sizes and different counts in the packages I think I paid like $1.95 for a six pack of he was like 4x7 or what's the regular photo size I can't remember
Yes Yes Yes!! I've made several and use them weekly. The only thing I do that isn't included in the videos is I wait 30 days before I use them. Many of mine are quite thick by the time I finish them as I do a lot that are deep or are large. Also, I've made trinket box molds. I just poured a butterfly box that I made the mold for. So that mold has a total of 4 parts. Hope that helps you.🦋🦋
Instead of blu-tac to hold up the cuff links, get a pair of spools for thread. You can often find these in fabric and craft shops made of wood and with nothing on them. I use them to hold buttons which I then press into face paint to make snowflakes on children who want the Elsa look :).
Instead of that tape, use packing tape, painters tape ,masking tape. Not duct. That will more than likely leave a film on your bezel. These tapes you get more for money
I keep asking and keep getting ignored but... I'll try again, is uv resin always sticky after curing? I've tried outside, curing and letting it set for days, curing it for minutes and minutes... FREAKIN help plzzzz

Fantastic idea for the feather! And by the way… love your jibber jabber! ❤️ thank you.👍😘

Those peacock feather ones look amazing, great idea! The others look great as well but I particularly like the peacock ones very much!
Oh, and I love the ideas on your cuff links!! Thank you!! Everything else too! ❤️❤️❤️
You are a Bubbly Lovely Person to Watch / Listen too ..a Fav of mine 👋🏻hello from 🇦🇺
That is good tips. Thank you.
Thanks Steve Awesome! I hadn't thought about using my light as I go!

"I'm so messy".🤣 Me too, Steve, me too.🤣🤣🤣
I use a bar of soap to put things in that are not able to free stand when doing resin or painting. It holds the item up nicely
I always learn so much from you, thanks Steve xx
Love the uv resin I will have to order some. The feathers are very beautiful. Ty. God bless you and your furbabies. Give them a good scratch.
Super nice!! You are so encouraging! Thank you!!

I wonder if Modge Podge would also seal it?
I'd try it but don't have any feathers right now.
@@Nirrrina Mod Podge works pretty good too. You can also seal things with packing tape and trim the edges. You can't see the tape in resin.

Beautiful pieces. I’ve only recently started doming pieces and I really love ve the way they come out.
Great tip on the curing box! Just ordered and can't wait to use it:)
Gosh, you are actually amazing. Wow.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 🥰 for taking the time to help teach us techniques. Helps us a lot . You also help us save resin.
I love to watch you 🥰🥰
Thank you, Dr. Mc.

I love the feather tip, brilliant!
You come up with some excellent ideas love your videos
Great ideas as usual 🤩
I love this one. You've once again given me many ideas. It's great as usual. Thanks again.

Did you stick your finger in the feather! I could see a fingerprint 😉☺️ I have given up with uv it remains sticky days later 😢
E here do you get your up torch / flashlight? Thanks so much.
Very nice. Thank you Steve!!
Another great video 👍 love how the nail varnish looks x
JDiction is all i use, listen to this man!! i’ve tried a lot of UV resin, and a lot of them made me sad 😐
I just ordered some of that resin. I'm so pleased that I made a good choice!
Great video!
Yes, very useful, thanks!

Wheres the best place to get the tweezers?

Can I use a up light to cure two part us resin?
Can anyone tell me what is the best grade of sandpapers to use?
Wondering as a former nail tech that still has the UV lamps that I used to cure gel, if the same UV lamps would work with J Diction UV resin to cure it?
Wow 🤩 Thank you 🤟❤️🌹
Can you use any brand of nail polish? Thanks
When I put a drop of pigment into the UV RISEN it does not harden under the lamp as without paint. Why?
Can you use embalsing powder in resin?
So as long as the nail polish is dry you can use it with resin? Because I've heard resin and nail polish don't work together.
Help! I afraid I have really screwed up a project! Will resin melt plastic soda bottle? Please help me out here. Ive put so much work into this and it’s my first resin project.

Are you using a non coloured mold, and have you tried curing from both sides, i.e cure one side flip it over and cure the bottom as well

I am making my molds out of silicone and corn starch. Will the mold work for resin?
Yes Yes Yes!! I've made several and use them weekly.

Did you have a video of cleaning up the pippets?
I am from USA can I use play dough to keep them stand up
* good question!!! I would like to know too🦋🦋

I just have to tell you... I could see the end of the tape around the feather, lol.
“ Let’s call them tweezers”…😳😂

does this brand of uv resin still smell awful, never found one without that dreadful smell
the feather tip genius, but your idea of really cheap is way off.
Hello Steve I love what you do and watching you, but do you have an email address at all to ask you something x
