Look @ loki and odin and the tesserack and thanos and the infinity stones... etc. it explains maybe stuff you already get but all in all its kinda like a puzzle and puts together those pieces.. worth it

I believe what they were protecting in Asgard was the Casket of Ancient Winters, not the Tesseract. It can freeze things.
