I was half expecting him to end the pitch with "Excelsior!"
I have the HP-B plus.. and I love it ! And I have the Kustom on my wish list to be doing murals.
Never seen this video.., very enjoyable.., thank you.
Excellent presentation! Question: Do any of the models feature a scroll lock wheel where a person can lock the trigger into one position when spraying instead of having to pull the trigger back?
@pmtz2005 I am waiting for the vendor to confirm this answer - I'll post a response as soon as I hear back.

Which Iwata double-action airbrush would be best for painting vinyl and resin models, like dinosaurs? The Eclipse line, maybe? Not overly concerned about the price.
Case Candy The Eclipse would be a good option if the paints you are using are water based or cleaned up with water and mild detergent. If you need to clean up the paints with thinner, or the paints you use are solvent based, we would recommend the High Performance airbrushes, which are available at our website at dickblick.com, because they are Teflon coated and resistant to solvents. Look for a smaller needle size (0.3 or 0.35) for a finer spray pattern and the ability to paint detail. For any additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
Great review, thanks!
I just got the iwata hp-a plus airbrush gun, total surprise from a friend . I was wondering how do I put the paint in.
They all look great, but I wonder which is best for kit and model buiding; nothing more.
Hello Robert! Which one is your favored one?
I use Micron SB for everything including painting on airplanes. Iwata is all you need when airbrushing.
Be well,
Jurek
@devinb1690 i got a HP-CS and i use it for scalemodels and wargaming figures. I love it, a very good all around airbrush. I use it for priming and camoflage on larger areas, tanks, planes and also to make fine lines such as shadows on figures etc. Good quality mid-range airbrush. Aslong as you clean it properly and treat the needle with care it will last you a life time :)
Which one would be best for both shirt painting and car painting?
And Wat type of paint would I need to buy?
Lots of money's worth on that desk ;-) thanks
Hi,
Could you please recommend an air brush for painting handbags? And the link to purchase please.
Thank you
We know artists who recommend the Iwata Eclipse for wearables- the large paint reservoir is great for large production work, so you don't need to refill as often between multiples www.dickblick.com/items/iwata-eclipse-series-airbrush-hp-bcs/
Hello. Haven't decided which Iwata to buy to use to restore (paint) diecast car models. All oil metallics and enamels. Which would be most appropriate?
im planning on getting one, which is better hp-cs or HP-C plus , this is for paint model kits
regards
Hey guys im new to airbrushing. I am making a lowrider bike and want to use an iwata but which one do you think i should use. Or one I should start with Thank you for your time
Thanks so much
which of these is best for nail art
Great video, what's the best brush for coloring caricatures? And compressor? Thanks
+Mark B From Iwata, one of their best options would be the Eclipse HP-CS Airbrush because of it’s extremeversatility, spraying fine lines as well as larger patterns, and also possesses the ability to push heavier paints. For a step up, the Iwata HP-SB Plus has more features than the Eclipse Series brushes, though it is a more expensive model. A good compressor that will run consistent air for longer periods of time is the Iwata Smart Jet Tubular Compressor. With an air tank ergonomically
designed as a carrying handle, this compressor can run for long periods of time
without pulsating pressure.
Thank you so much for your reply. Great info.
I started airbrushing in January, no classes at all just watching videos etc and I am doing it good, I started with master airbrush guns, but they seems to be like not too professional, I just ordered my 1st HP-CS so I am expecting the best for detail my t shirts, any suggestion to get a very white lines over black t.shirts?
+Edd Mtz We are glad to hear that you have upgraded to the Iwata HP series. We think you will find it handles muchbetter. As for opaque white lines on a black t-shirt, this will be difficult as the airbrush paint will go on so thin and just doesn’t have the coverage as say acrylic paint or screenprinting the image on. Opt for an opaque ink and just know that you will have to apply a couple of coats for the best coverage. Consider the Createx Airbrush Paints: www.dickblick.com/products/createx-airbrush-colors/
.
Hay there from Boston, MA.
Thanks for your very helpful video.
I sculpt/carve human features that I would like
To try and paint and make the features pop.
Any info is appreciated, keep up your good work.

I have a Neo. When did those come out?
Hello could you please tell me, which one is the best for makeup?
Stephanie Tamayo Nearly any of the Iwata airbrushes can be used for make-up. You might consider the High Line HP-CH, the High Performance Hp-C+, any one of the Eclipse, or the Revolution BR or CR (all can be found on our website at dickblick.com). If you would like to discuss further options, please feel free to contact Product Information at 800-933-2542 or email us at info@dickblick.com.
Do u know, where could I purchase spare parts for iwata guns? Any europe web page. I bought some from ebay, but I doubt about the quality(needle is very soft, nozzle - diferent size, etc.)
Hi , i have in mind a Revolution BR for buying. Have i buy another cheaper for varnish or lacquer matt or gloss ? My target is plane plastic models.
+icervoid While the same airbrush can be used for both the paint and the varnish, if your varnish is a different base than your paint (ex - the paint is waterbased but the varnish is solvent based) you may find that a second airbrush is useful. While you will need to clean the airbrush after use, you will not need to worry about cross contamination of the paint types. The Iwata Eclipse or Neo would be good options for spraying lacquers or varnishes. If you have additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
I'm looking to get one for fine art. Which one is appropriate for fine detail line work? I'm thinking the cm c plus is the best for fine line work. Is this correct?
+Ben Oto The Custom Microns are excellent for fine art work and detailed applications: www.dickblick.com/products/iwata-custom-micron-series-airbrushes/ If you plan on using thicker bodied paints (Golden Fluid, Liquitex Soft Body, etc), you might consider the Eclipse Brushes. Just remember the finer the point, the thinner the paint will need to be. If you have additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
Snap-On airbrush are good to.
Hi, I have been looking at the Iwata Revolution series, mainly, the BR2000 starter kit with compressor.I am a model railroader, would you recommend this model for a beginner? I want dual action and internal mix. Also, are there any advantages one over the other with gravity feed and syphon feed? I do know that syphon feed allows quick paiont change. Thank You
Al Rozanski Yes, the Revolution Airbrushes are excellent for model builders because it works well with water based or solvent based paints. If you plan on changing colors frequently, we recommend the syphon or side feed airbrushes. If you plan on only using one color at a time, then you will have a lot less wasted paint and time with a gravity feed airbrush. Generally, with a gravity feed airbrush you can use thicker paints and it needs less pressure to push the paints through the brush. A syphon feed needs to be used with thinner paints (whole milk t water consistency) and it needs more pressure to draw the ink up the straw and through the airbrush. If you have more questions, feel free to contact our Product Information Department at 800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com .
1.Can the HP- CS Eclipse do base coats and primers effectively on models?
2.On another vid, someone claimed that a 0.5 needle could also be used in the HP-CS. Is that true?
MrMFHORN 1.Can the HP- CS Eclipse do base coats and primers effectively on models? - Yes, it will work as long as the primer and base coats are about the consistency of heavy cream or whole milk. converted to use the 0.5 needle and nozzle. For any questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com.
Hi one more question regarding the below reply on the Revolution AB, since then I was also researching the Eclipse CS and BS, would this unit also be able to handle paints like Model Master (Testors) etc. I understand that the Eclipse series is also an excellent line as well. Thanks very much.
Al Rozanski Both the Eclipse and the Revolution are considered excellent brushes and both will handle Testor’s enamels just fine. The Eclipse have a slightly larger needle, which produce a fine line to 2” spray pattern and can handle thicker paints. The Revolution AR actually has a smaller needle (I would not recommend it if you plan on using metallic paints) so it would be better for details or small models. For any additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com
My step fother has a lot of these!
Which Airbrush Would Be Best For Customizing Shoes ?
LaToria Smith A good option would be the Eclipse HP-BCS, which would have a .5mm tip and siphon feed. This would work well for spraying textile colors and allow for easy color changes. You could also consider the HP-CS, which is a gravity feed with a .35mm tip, and would be well suited to adding details. For any additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
+Blick Art Material I Ordered A Iwata Medea Neo Gravity Feed Dual Action . Is That A Good One ?
LaToria Smith Yes, the Neo will work just fine as well. For any additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
Hello! I am a cosplayer and I am researching airbrushes and compressors for body painting. Which combination of compressor and airbrush should I use if I plan to use it for character body paint? I have been searching forever and I came across this line of airbrushes and such. I need help and it would be greatly appreciated!
+Katie Jones We would recommend the Iwata Eclipse as it can accommodate the heavier paints used for body painting. It can also cover larger areas (about 2” spray pattern) as well as fine line details. As for the compressor, you will want to get one that can produce at least 60 psi and that has a reserve tank for a smoother airflow. The Iwata Power Jets are good options. If you have additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
thanks for the help!
which one would work well for watercolor paint
+POPCULTURE CHAMELEON As long as you thin the watercolor paint so that it is like an ink or fluid consistency, any of the Iwata airbrushes would work. The Eclipse is a good work horse that will provide large background coverage or fine details. The Kustom Air Brushes are more finely tuned and will provide exceptional detail. If you want something for filling in larger areas but don’t need a lot of control, consider the Neo airbrushes. If you have additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
My wife is a cake decorator and I don't know which one to get her for Christmas and I don't want to ask her because I want it to be a surprise. Any suggestions? She doesn't have any experience airbrushing but I don't really believe in upgrading I would like to get her something decent priced not too low not too high.
Thanks
ever heard of badger or harder and steenbeck? Its wrong to say one brand is the best at everything, then why would those 2 brands exist? the micron might be the best, but its also the most exspensive, and the other lines dont beat all others.
How about a silver jet paired with a en Eclipse bottom feeder?
For cake decorating where will she get food coloring paints from?
Anybody!!!
i purchased a iwata hpbplus all i had is problems from the moment i used it it barely spray water doesnt matter what parts i replaced iwata ? never again
gilles huot Hello! We are sorry that you had problems with your Iwata, this is not common for these finely tuned airbrushes. Please contact Customer Service at 800-723-2787 for assistance. Thank you!
Which one is best for RC car bodies?
ivydude13 If you don’t want to invest a lot of money, the Iwata Neo are a good option. The Eclipse Airbrush is better double-action airbrush, which will handle heavier paints and provide a great range of spray patterns. The HP-BS would be the best for smaller uses. These options are available on our website at dickblick.com. For any additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
Blick Art Materials Thank you, I will check you guys out.
what the best air brush ???????
IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HP-B AND HP-C JUST THE CUP SIZE.??
Yes, the only difference is the size of the cup. This makes the HP-B good for smaller applications because paint is not wasted. The HP-C offers the same detail capabilities but you don't have to fill the cup as often. If you would like additional assistance, please feel welcome to contact our Product Information team at 1-800-933-2542
what happens when your air is sufficient, but doesn't not come through to the nozzle? Please!
+Jimmie Sutton It could be a number of reasons why the air or paint isn’t coming out of the airbrush. Check and makesure the needle isn’t bent or there isn’t a bur on the end. If you are getting air but no paint, make sure you paint is thin enough (it needs to be about the consistency of 2% milk. Finally, if you have previously taken the airbrush apart to clean it make sure all the o-rings are there and that everything is screwed on tight.

Wich one do you suggest for plastic model kits painting ? The eclipse HP-CS seems to be the most popular in model making but i wanted to hear someone elses opinion.
+tr3nta We would agree that the Eclipse HP-CS would be the best choice for model kits. It has the finest spray pattern of the Eclipse line, but can cover a hairline to a 2” spray pattern. It also has a larger color cup for more paint. If you are working with smaller models or plan on doing more fine detail work with only minimal paint, the HP-DB is also a good option. It has the same nozzle as the CS, but a smaller color cup.
Over rated and over prized, Badger is equally good and at a more realistic prizing too!!!
What would u say would be the best compressor for doing airbrush tattoos?
