We have an LG C8 OLED and it's incredible. I'll sit and watch gallery mode sometimes and just marvel at the picture. For those concerned with burn-in, there is a setting on the TV that will detect static images and send less light to them - turn that to the highest value. Also, there is a pixel refresh that you can run. Just be smart with the TV and you shouldn't have any issues.
LG magic remote is the best remote available IMO. The cursor is awesome, responsive, and the remote both feels good in hand, is solid, and has full functionality with 0-9 etc.
Owned a 60" Pan Plasma and it was my fave TV until yesterday, when I had my 65" c8 installed. Absolutely amazing, and worth the extra cost over any qled BS Samsung is pushing.
When buying a QLED they don't tell you about the blinding brightness. I bought a new 65" early this year and the brightness gave me eyestrain/headaches. My partner suffered the same. I tried turning the back light down to a comfortable level but then 1/2 the scenes were too dark, drove me nuts adjusting for every different bit of conten and I could never find an optimal level. Recently I bought a new 65" C8 OLED. Auto brightness adjustment with eye care mode on is amazing, never have to adjust a thing. I can now watch TV all day with absolute comfort to the eye. Dolby Vision content is a treat, stunning picture quality. People have varying preference but after owning both and comparing side by side, I personally find OLED provides a superior more natural looking picture over QLED. I have no allegiance to any brand or technology, I've owned all the major brands, this is just my experience.
I have a question about LG Oled (for the B8 & C8) as I’m planning to buy one. About the Automatic Brightness Limiter. Same here, i have a 55C8 model for about 8 months and i play a lot on it without any issues until now, both ps4 and pc games and it is a huge gain compared to my 27" 4k 60hz monitor which is not that great in color depth, black levels, size and so forth.
@@Christoph22KakaFan none until now, the first month i was afraid that games with a lot of stuff "glued"on the screen like health, stamina bars etc, it would burn the screen but as i said early, until now i can't see no retaining/burning issue on my screen and i'm playing arround 4,5 hours daily
I owned an LG C7 65 inch oled for just over a year. Put 5000 hours into it and no burn in. Thing is that I was super careful to always turn it off, put it into standby, give it plenty of varied use including games, tv and movies and keep the brightness relatively low. Burn in is a very real problem and the fact that it is a possibility means that it will always be something you are thinking about when using the TV as once you've done it, you're screwed. The reason I got rid of it though was the rubbish motion when in game mode for 30fps games. Unplayable. Got a Q9FN and once I got the settings dialed in the picture was practically the same as the C7, just with the better motion and peace of mind. Only thing that oled wins every time, hands down is the viewing angles.
I have a b7 and it's great as well. I game for a couple hours and haven't seen any burn in. However when the screen go's grey(I only notice this on RUclips though) I see screen retention of of the RUclips word and logo but it go's away. I also do a pixel refresh every week which resets the pixels and this is my main tv but other than that no problems. Actually the only annoying thing is sometimes RUclips dont work as well and often times it runs in a lower resolution. I think it's due to the fact that the wifi isnt great upstairs though and the last issue I have is sometimes the hdmi slot doesnt recognize my systems but it barely happens but when it does I just plug it out and plug it back in. After the last update I had the problem doesnt happen again.
If I wanna play the same game.. how long would you say its okay to play before turning it off to avoid burns? Like, 1hr, 2hr, 4hrs intervals? and how long to leave it off between those?
Serious question should this TV only be purchased for special occasions? Because I like to play games but I would like to sit back and watch movies too.
My OLED55B6V suffered a nasty burn in recently that is most definitely permanent despite LG customer service insisting burn in was impossible. The burn in image was from a static image on a RUclips video that I hadn’t noticed while I was working. It must have been on for just under an hour but was long enough to leave a permanent impression. (Seriously I’m not making this up, it was no longer than an hour!) LG offered to repair the TV at virtually the price it had originally cost to buy. I’d never waste my money on an OLED ever again nor would I ever trust LG again! Picture quality is obviously amazing, but it’s really not worth the misery if you get caught out.
Bought a C8. Dead pixels. Replaced. The second tv had dead pixels. Replaced. The third tv had dead pixels. I got my money back and i bought a Sony X900F, not an issue
Mick Harrison while I think that overall the Oleds have better picture quality, I think that Sony processing is far better and particularly noticeable Also the Sony XF90 has beautiful contrast even in a dark room Maybe next year I’ll get an oled again, but I can tell you that the Sony XF90 is a beautiful tv Also it is reference quality accurate without needing a calibration
OLED is obviously the TV with the best picture quality. I bought this TV 2 days ago and I love it. However, I've been reading about burn in and I'm having second thoughts. I paid $1800 + $300 warranty for 3 years for this TV and burn in is excluded. I want a TV to last me a good 6 or 7 years, and an OLED TV might not make it that far. I'm thinking about returning it now and getting my hands on a Samsung Q7 instead for $1300. No burn in and it looks great in store. Obviously, it won't produce deep blacks like the OLED, but I rather not have permanent burn in. I'll let you all know what I decide in the coming days.

The colour banding used to be virtually non existent but is now terrible and makes the TV virtual unwatchable at times. LG called me on 16th April and confirmed that they are aware of the major error in 04.10.31 (Quad Step Noise Reduction inactivated) and are about to release a fix for it imminently.

I've been waiting for the LCD Samsung Q9FN 75" to drop in price ever since February. I've now ordered it and even got a price match on its Black Friday price (saved ~400USD on an already good package deal with Vogel's wall mount and on-wall installation). Did I make a mistake? It has not arrived yet and I can still cancel the order. I plan using it as a monitor some times - certainly for games but also for work, i.e. office applications, word/text editing, programming, etc., which is why I did not option for the LG C8 due to risk of burn-in.
CNET David casimire says go with a b8 OLED from LG it's almost as good and for the money b8 what do you guys think and why do you guys think the c8 has a better picture quality give me a good reason
LG's B8,C8, and E8 apply to its 55" TVs, the 8 part means that it's the current 2018 model year. Therefore, the lowest end of the current model is the B8, the middle is the C8, the one being evaluated in this video, and the best model is the E8. So, the fact that he considers the C8 as the best LG 55" 2018 OLED TV model is only his subjective opinion. You can see this by how LG priced them when they first came out; the B8 for $2299.00, the C8 for $2499.00, and the E8 for $3299.00. Also, since the E8 is the most recent model to come out, it has probably not been reviewed as much as the C8.
I don’t see what’s the point of getting to know something I entend to buy if I’m broke, I mean I wasn’t expecting it to be $2000 , is there another tv close to this one for less than $1000 ?
What about motion handling and screen uniformity? That's what's holding me back from upgrading from my plasma. Once OLED manufacturers fix those, then I will upgrade. We need a reference status OLED tv.
Use this TV now like 3 months. i love it and it has a much beter quality than my dads qled from samsung. i will never go back and stay with oled. also i have no problems with burn in also while gaming.

Another thing I didn't like about this TV was the cursor remote which was annoying, you cant turn it off either. the a8f is pretty much the same tv as the lg c8..but slightly less bright. and uses a way slower interface....the a9f might be the best oled, but only slightly. and it also costs substantially more the the c8.. sony really needs to revisit their pricing
I saw the sony a8f and the lg c8 today in perso they were the same as far as I could tell with the demo except the sony was waaay sharper and darker parts were were clearer the c8 was just smooth but it's easy get the c8 if the $500 extra for the sony a8f is an issue
I opted for a qled as I don't want to have anxiety over burn in potential, but I'd buy a Sony A9F as a second set just for movies if I could. Maybe in the future...
@@helloguy8934 nice. I'm looking for a second TV set and it's going to be Qled again LOL. As I've said I still don't trust OLED in the long run... think 10 years. But yeah, maybe (probably) I'm wrong. As I live in Brazil it's too much money for me to commit.
if you don't like burning then don't buy an LCD TV because they can get burn into just not as easy as OLED but it takes a crap load of watching TV to get burn in I mean 10 hours I want channel without turning it off once I want you to turn the TV off there's a mode automatically comes on I claimed your TV screen so you don't have to worry about it did I mention LCD gets it too oh yeah
This is the best bang for the buck. But the sony A9F is a better OLED with better colors, motion and shadow detail and far better sound. The X1 processor is amazing. But C8 is a great value. You will only notice the superiority if these are next to each other. Enjoy
Sam Jones I’m not saying Sony blew it away. Lg still looks fantastic, but my eyes saw the Sony looking better and clearly the expert judges agreed. It was a slight win for Sony but a win is a win
Can anyone tell me about their warranty experience? Mine busted after three months and LG says their warranty only covers if I had bought it from certain vendors (who I never heard of). Best tv I ever owned but now I’m out 1600 dollars after only owning it for three months. Anyone experience anything like this and/or have a solution?
I bought the LG C8 17 days later I had a whole bunch of dead pixels they come out to replace the panel twice to come over a month and both of the panels have vertical banding so they decided to give me my money back after 2 months LG customer service is horrible
My 65 inch LG OLED tv got burn in after 6 months. LG offered me half of the value of the tv towards another LG product. According to LG the life span of a tv is one year. My 12 year old Sony XBR is in my bedroom and looks great. I will never buy another LG product again!

The Q9FN isn’t available in the US? Because that’s a much better tv for the this money.. Burn in is unacceptable! Well it would be if the warranty would cover it for at least 5 years but it doesn’t do it for 5 minutes.. I spend 3k on a tv and get unrepairable damage after 2 months and I don’t get my money back? That’s not how it works.. anyone reading this.. go with the QLED..
Owled EU wrong, go with oled and take care of your investment. Qled is a marketing gimmick. It’s an LED. Sony’s LEDs for price point and performance are better for average consumers.
To be clear, I've got a 2015 LG OLED (EF9500), about 5800 hours on it, that I exclusively play video games, movies, and Netflix on. I'd often play a game for 10+ hours a day, for days at a time (back when I wasn't working of course) and I've had zero burn in issues. You have to be doing some seriously long term extreme static image crap to have burn in. You'd have a be a moron (seems like most people are) to do this sort of damage. Just keep it in mind, and if you aren't using the TV and its just sitting there without some sort of screensaver.. turn it off. If its had a static graphic on it for some hours, cycle the TV to something else for a little bit. If that little thing is too much for you, then you aren't responsible enough to own a nice TV. Anyway, I recently ordered a 65" C8 on sale and can't wait for it to arrive!
8K's been around for many years now without any 1:1 content. Why bother. The production industry are spewing out weak "4K" streamed and lossy as hell still. Can't really see them serving consumers with proper 4K in the next years - and 8K...not even in the next decade. Too heavy to distribute trough any streamed ecosystem and not enough consumer equipment to produce 8K for. This industry needs to stop and re-evaluate.
Except I have racked up 7 hour gaming sessions on an OLED with no issues. Extreme would be the same game, maxed brightness and no breaks, meanwhile most vary their content and take the aforementioned breaks.
its not only about the hours, its about the frequancy you play the same game with the same graphic interface on repeat, even if it is only a few hours. Those pixels degrade everytime they display static images.
Andreas Tzimboukakis almost impossible. Even game maps are translucent so they change color when you move. Still, its not that dramatic, and “few” remains undefined.
Still loving my C8 5 years later with no burn in.

the c8 was just smooth but it's easy get the c8 if the $500 extra for the sony a8f is an issue
sound like you can't go wrong with either one@@HgihAsFcuk
When is the next price drop coming?
Would it possibly be marked down for Black Friday this year
last year (in the UK) the C7 and B7 never got a price decrease for Black Friday, but they do reduce in price in September I believe
I opted for a qled as I don't want to have anxiety over burn in potential, but I'd buy a Sony A9F as a second set just for movies if I could. Maybe in the future...
Shame. The c8 held up really well.
@@helloguy8934 nice. I'm looking for a second TV set and it's going to be Qled again LOL. As I've said I still don't trust OLED in the long run... think 10 years. But yeah, maybe (probably) I'm wrong. As I live in Brazil it's too much money for me to commit.
Is that 55 or 65” version?
The burn in issue is a turn off for me from buying it
if you don't like burning then don't buy an LCD TV because they can get burn into just not as easy as OLED but it takes a crap load of watching TV to get burn in I mean 10 hours I want channel without turning it off once I want you to turn the TV off there's a mode automatically comes on I claimed your TV screen so you don't have to worry about it did I mention LCD gets it too oh yeah
@@travismayes23 its an oled not a LCD
My favorite brand LG n world best tv LG oled really awesome
This is the best bang for the buck. But the sony A9F is a better OLED with better colors, motion and shadow detail and far better sound. The X1 processor is amazing.
But C8 is a great value.
You will only notice the superiority if these are next to each other.
Enjoy
djbardia22 Sadly one downside is the UI, otherwise great tv
Sam Jones incorrect. Noticeable difference
The SONY also costs $ 1500 to $2000 more....lol
Sam Jones I was at the shootout in Scarsdale and I noticed a difference
Sam Jones I’m not saying Sony blew it away. Lg still looks fantastic, but my eyes saw the Sony looking better and clearly the expert judges agreed. It was a slight win for Sony but a win is a win
Can anyone tell me about their warranty experience? Mine busted after three months and LG says their warranty only covers if I had bought it from certain vendors (who I never heard of). Best tv I ever owned but now I’m out 1600 dollars after only owning it for three months. Anyone experience anything like this and/or have a solution?
which tv has best picture quality B8 or C8.
C8
@@Mathan1130 thanku sir
Burn in is a big issue .... so no oled for me, but otherwise yes it looks great, but that burn in
You have the pixel refresher
A9F was #1 in the Value Electronics shoot out. :)
I got the C7 oled and already have Burn-in.
Really? How? I want to buy one, what do you advise?
How come I don't believe you...........
Okunrin Meta, I’m a gamer so If you play various games burn-in won't be a problem, but if you put hours into 1 game then it will.
LMAO
@@wyatt2439 maybe if you played 2000 hours of the same game. Its rare.
Rod irish model 2018 ?
i believe so it is no longer in my possession as i have given it to my brother couldn't stand the sight of it any longer I had to get it out of my house@@Tech.reviews1
Rod irish oled no reday for market today I visit lg i see 5 tv burn model 2017
Shame. Burn in is far less of a problem.
You can get the C8 55 inch right now for $1700. That's pretty freaking good. No reason to buy Sony Oled at over twice the price.
Got mine for 1300. Amazing tv
Best tv for movies. But for gaming NO 👎🏼
Not risking it with the problem they have with burn ins
Burn in is not a problem
With a input lag of just 21 ms, this TV is actually brilliant for gaming
Just take a insurance for burn ins at the retailer
Joe Ees I play anything from 4 to 6 hours at a Time as I’m retired so have lots of time to play and I’m on a pension so I hope I have no problems with burn in as I can’t afford another
Ps 70 years old and have been playing for many years and still love it I have a Panasonic fez 802 oled and love the quality of the picture it gives me I’m not worried about burn at all
@@MrJustmitch and someting like interpunction or punction did not excist 70 years ago?
The Q9FN isn’t available in the US? Because that’s a much better tv for the this money.. Burn in is unacceptable! Well it would be if the warranty would cover it for at least 5 years but it doesn’t do it for 5 minutes.. I spend 3k on a tv and get unrepairable damage after 2 months and I don’t get my money back? That’s not how it works.. anyone reading this.. go with the QLED..
Owled EU wrong, go with oled and take care of your investment. Qled is a marketing gimmick. It’s an LED. Sony’s LEDs for price point and performance are better for average consumers.
they said you can’t connect Alexa on this oled but dunno how to do it on my c8
Can't spend almost 2k to maybe could be damaged within 5 years. I like a 75 to 80 inch also.
Best... Right
What is the refresh rate of lg c8
Input lag ? ... 21.0ms in Game Mode ... this is WITH dynamic tone mapping for HDR games activated...
Hell yes! I agree!
The only difference between the design of the B8 and C8 is the stand.
Incorrect. You also have a jump up in the processor for the 7 to the 9 chip set and Black frame insertion isnt on the B8 but is on C8
C8👌🔥
what is error 137
Awesome tv but amc is very expensive after one year this charge 30 %to 40% per year tv cost
Lg world best oled selling brand..One one better then Lg OLED all series..
Will C8 get the webOS 4.5 update?
I am also wondering. I wish they will deliver a firmware update for HDR10+ suppport as well.
This review confused me. He stated its great for games and said it's best not used for games
The best TV in the US? I'm from another country... Nooooooo! 😭
I'm getting mine delivered tomorrow 👍
I bought mine at costco 1649.
Best tv that can be used for more then 8 hrs and don’t do burn in ..super clear 4 k 55 .. remote East to use . Easy type words on RUclips.
Go Caleb!
I dont think playing the same game for a few hours eveyday is consider extreme usecases
Then buy a lcd TV. Save this for movies content
Except I have racked up 7 hour gaming sessions on an OLED with no issues. Extreme would be the same game, maxed brightness and no breaks, meanwhile most vary their content and take the aforementioned breaks.
He said 8hr or more every day. So no, your few hours are no problem. Unless you are kinda lame and think “few videogame hours a day = 8”
its not only about the hours, its about the frequancy you play the same game with the same graphic interface on repeat, even if it is only a few hours. Those pixels degrade everytime they display static images.
Andreas Tzimboukakis almost impossible. Even game maps are translucent so they change color when you move. Still, its not that dramatic, and “few” remains undefined.
