    Hi Everyone and Welcome to Promethean Sewing Machines, where I am unashamedly rebelliously creative when it comes to taking old forgotten sewing machines and bringing them back to life in a beautiful way.
    Meet my new project:
    This time I am making this Franklin pretty. Partially repainted, partially re-decaled, partially airbrushed, hand painted gold accents and a smashing clearcoat.
    Hope you like it!
    ~Marie

    I'm blown away with how you were able to restore this! The amount of work to begin with and then the tedious detail to the original decals!! I hope the owners really appreciate all you did to restore this treasure!

    Very impressive, Marie! I’m a big fan of retaining as much of the original finishes as you can. You’ve done a great job blending new and old so it all looks old.

    I am amazed at what you do with the worst machines. I would slowly back away from a machine with that kind of damage. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

      There's a certain kind of freedom in working on a terrible machine where you can look at it and say "well it can't hurt." 😁

      Very true. If I had a better work area at home I think I would do more challenging things. Still, what I see you do makes me very happy. Thanks again.@@prometheansewingmachines

      True. You certainly can't break it nor make it any worse. I am enjoying doing these little machines. easier for me to handle. I am happy you keep progressing with your love for doing this. I think my favorite machine that you have done has got to be RUBY, the family owned machine that sat for years. That was a great restoration that I hope they appreciate. Thanks again. @@prometheansewingmachines

    Looks great. Have you ever done the French Polish technique?

    • @prometheansewingmachines
      @prometheansewingmachines  4 месяца назад +1

      I did on a machine I wasn't going to paint once. It's ok, but my preference is a strong clearcoat... Which upsets some, I know 😁

    Can I use a spray can clear coat on my singer machine decals? If so, what type and brand would you recommend?

    • @prometheansewingmachines
      @prometheansewingmachines  5 месяцев назад +1

      You can, but I would not use a cheap one. I would only use the aerosol can version of diamond coat. It's a little more expensive but it works extremely well. Good luck

    Where did you get the decal? I just bought a new to me Franklin and I’ve got her working again and seems the spring for the tensioner is broken. Will try to find a replacement.
