I have every top clipper in the game plus a black 5 star senior. Just got my metal 5 star today and I'm loving it People saying this is old and same design and nothing innovative from Wahl for too long Thing is this has been the strongest, smoothest and most dependable clipper on the planet forever and you truly need nothing else Every barber knows this is still the #1 dependable clipper of all time We just buying a bunch of orher pretty clippers out there cuz we want to Not cuz we need to
Agreed! I use Oster and Andis and I’m going to add some Wahls to my collection. These big three been around so long because of the quality. I highly doubt the other brands will survive longer than these 3.
Agree wahls don’t have to come up with clippers every month to month when you build something good it stays the same for ever that’s how you know there the best!
In 2022, I personally would put the Wahl metal edition clippers (Senior or Magic Clips) up against any other clipper. Absolutely love the way they cut, feel, and look. Great video!
@Its Marvy Marv yes, im totally loving them and I never thought I would like cordless but I'm loving them. I'm just trying to decide now on a cordless trimmer with lots of strength and hard hitting
Hi there, I'm interested about metal edition.. May i know what a difference wahl 1919 vs wahl metal edition senior? Very details are welcome.. thanks 😁
While I prefer tried and true and I don’t like seeing new models, colours and enhancements just for marketing purposes, Whal has a winner with these metal products. The Seniors are definitely a classic!!!
Great video. Nice watching you work through the different levels of a fade hair cut. I have been a long time user of Oster clippers. I started migrating over to cordless clippers a few years ago. I bought my first Octanes and never looked back. I was always a fan of the corded Oster Fast Feeds but migrated to Whal cordless Beretto and Beret combination clippers after growing impatient for a cordless version of Oster adjustable clippers and trimmers. I really like the Beret trimmers but I found the Beretto clippers a little light duty. I am attracted to the softer rubber clipper guards that come with the Whal products. The harder Oster guards don’t flex enough especially in the nape area. The Beretto guards are made of the same materials but just don’t feel right in the longer guards. Enter the Metal Seniors. They are a fine heavy duty clipper and paired with the professional guards offer a combination of sturdiness and flexibility. Growing impatient with Oster(they still haven’t released the new cordless clippers in my area) I decided to replace my Beretto clippers with the Senior / Professional Guard combination. I also really dont know what to think of the recent Oster cordless models. All they offer is “matcha match” brand loyalty for me right now. So I am sticking with well established Seniors. I work with a barber who uses Seniors and Magic Clips and he swears by them. I really enjoyed watching you work that fade - very skillfull.
Snagged mine from The Barber Plug.. $199! For a metal senior, charging cord, universal wahl charging stand, and the .5, 1, and 1.5 gaurd I think it's a solid price.
Hi. What about the motor power? Is it constant with this model? Because I have the feeling that wahl motors are losing if they don't remain 100% charged
@@ItsMarvyMarv thanks for the fast reply,😁, I know that the old magic clips has a less powerful motor than the senior but I thought that the new gold version with a new motor would perform like a senior. Is their a big difference between the metal senior and the senior’s, or is it only the weight difference and the 10 min of extra battery and the accessoires you get with it? But same internals?
Metal edition senior has 7000rpm motor.normal senior with gold/tan lever has 6500rpm to 6800rpm.also metal edition weighs more 412g normal senior 360g.both are great depends whether you like the all metal or standard senior but you carnt go wrong with either.
Also metal edition senior is more powerful than gold magic the gold magic clip has 6500rpm metal edition senior 7000rpm according to wahl specifications
I would say go with the Legend. It’s an amazing clipper at an affordable price. And yes you can zero gap them. They’ll cut great. Here’s a link to them 🙏 amzn.to/3p9yPEm
Regular senior has a 70 minute run time, the senior metal edition supposedly suppose to have a 80 minute run time and it also comes with a charging stand
Yeah big difference in motor regular senior is 6500rpm and metal edition senior is 7000rpm also the metal edition weighs more 412g regular senior 370g.both have 80mins runtime.both are solid clippers reliable and great for bulk and fades all in one tool.i would just pick which one you prefer but if you like a lighter clipper go for regular senior.
For $260!? No way man. Wahl already said they are just the 1919's with the senior name. Same motor and battery. I already had a hard time with Wahl when they price gouged during covid. Not even a month into the pandemic and they double the price of a Magic clip. They bet on their loyal client base to keep buying these overpriced rebranded clippers. $160 and the Rebels blow these out the water. Charge stand, full set of mag guards, stretch bracket, 3 lids. Like come on. My $70 Caliber 9MMs blow my seniors out the water. This is all coming from someone who has 2 seniors, 2 corded magic clips and 5 cordless magic clips. The industry has went crazy with overpriced equipment. We gotta stop buying everything that comes out just because it came out. It's $260! For a heavy Magic Clip with a stand! Save your money. Appreciate the video though, great as always.
I Have The Wahl Seniors 100 Anniversary Which Does Not Allow You To Zero Gap Until You Swap The Bracket Out , All I Did Was Put A Wahl Senior Bracket On It From An Old Senior Machine I Didn't Use Anymore , & I Got It To Zero Gap, Pretty Much The Same Thing With A Small Modification. This New Machine Just Saves You The Hassle From Doing That ...
Wahl and Andis are just making the same machines over again but just putting different colors and lids on them. Haven't seen anything exciting from them in a while
@@ryebaros307 But those companies do the exact same thing, the same motor that’s slightly faster than the last model. Just because it has some cheap-looking gold cover doesn’t make it a solid clipper. These are special editions, hence the different lid. All their new clippers have been improving for every new release.
Man I just feel like that clipper is a money grab.. if you don’t own a 1919 or Magic clip edition then cool but if you already go them I wouldn’t bother.. just slap a magic clip fade blade on that 1919 and you’ll get the same or better performance and it’s all metal lol

I agree even the metal magic feels more powerful than the cordless magic. I just ordered my metal senior today.
Just received my regular Wahl senior... Cant wait to use it on myself. Always used the regular Wahl with cord so this is a huge upgrade i think.
You have great energy, dude. Thank you for the review, man!
Appreciate you fam 🙏
I just bought these and im loving them. Been a barber 30 years now and I can feel the quality in them.

What would you grab if it was one clipper ? One trimmer ?
Does the adjustable lever on the Wahl Metal Senior clipper click to lock the blade length settings?

Idk which one to get, Wahl senior metal edition or the Magic Gold clip, which one is best and why?

Wahl needs to make the cordless reflections senior
What type blade comes on it?
where i can buy that one? clipper wahl 1919
Hey boss I'm just trying to do a 8 all round. Should I get the senior or legend or magic??? Should I have it gapped at 0 so it cuts even around???
