I would say the legends are my main clipper now. I only really use the seniors for debulking. These are completely capable of debulking, but the seniors still get it done more efficiently.
Because senior have more powerful motor, legend on the other hand, it is better for day to day and more versatile. If you want more power choose senior, if you want more "forgiving" clipper choose legend I'm a barber too
The stylecraft black thin deep tooth cutting blade is the crunchiest cutting blade I personally have used. I didn’t like it at first being it was much thinner than I was used to but the sound is definitely there. Now I use it on a few of my clippers.
Is this a good choice for self hair and beard cutting? I do the lowest cutting settings on the head and beard every week or two, almost bald. Price is not a problem as long as quality is there. I was searching for a trimer like philips remington and so on but i am worried about their low quality blades and battery. Many people complain not only bad cuts, but products not functioning on those fully washable trimmers. This wahl legend or magic look like their blades are premium quality as well as the battery in that price range has to be good.
Just came from Amazon reading a bunch of reviews saying the cordless Legend basically fell apart in their hands..there was like 4 or 5 verified purchase reviews stating the same thing. I bought the cord version.
Same. Literally same… What about the seniors? You debate them or have some? I’m not a barber. Just a guy that enjoys learning new things and saving money from investing in more things to keep me inside my home and away from people 😂
@@rualmet I ended up buying Wahl cordless Magic Clips from a local beauty supply store. I paid roughly $30 more than I would have if I bought them on Amazon, but I decided to do that because I didn't want some factory irregular clipper, or refurbished, or worse, a fake. I'm very happy with my purchase so far. I've had them for about 2 months and use them about an hour per week, week and a half on my own head. They cut nicely and I couldn't be happier with them so far. (Edit to add- I bought the corded Legend and I was happy with those, but I did end up buying cordless Magic Clips after and now using the Legend as backups)

@@rualmet seniors have a powerful motor that's good for debulking lots of thick hair, but that costs in battery life. The run time is much lower than the Magic Clip, whose motor is powerful enough.
@@bcd398 well I just ordered the magic clip cordless. Hope your words made me make the right choice. After some years of practice with these I’m hoping I’m a good self fader. Thank you
Would you choose legends over magic clips? My clippers need changing, and thinking the extended leaver could speed up my skin fades, as I take a good 30-40 minutes at the moment. Thanks in advance 🙏
I now have all 3, the The Wahl Senior, Wahl Magic Clip, and The Wahl Legend. I’m curious how they will compare with each other and also how each one individually compares to clippers like the Stylecraft Saber, Caliber .50 Cal Mag, and Babyliss Fx Clipper.
I’m curious about the difference is the legend wedge blade vs the magic clip staggered Blade. They are both marketed as giving a smooth cut, softer edge . So I wonder which does that better? I wonder if the staggered cuts out more hair since it has those extra small teeth. I like longer cuts for myself I don’t need short fades
A quiet clipper which I have come across is the gamma ergos and the crunch noise is amazing on them but they are not forgiving amazing on thick hair but not thin hair I might look into the legends after your review
What clippers would you recommend for a beginner mate? I was looking at the legends or the seniors but I heard a click lever would be easier for starting out? What would you recommend?
Im using the magics atm and probably will get the JRL's next as theyre just as light and proper quiet. I feel like if these legends were quiet they could compete?
I would say that this clipper, if you have the Cordless Seniors, is a waste. It blends into the 1 guard a bit better, but it also is thicker at the tip, making it more difficult to blend into a trimmer.
Yes sir. I have been using it for over a year now and I don’t use them anymore. Waste of time in my opinion. Blade gets hot and the plastic part has broken off. 👎🏼
@@BarberJase I notice the same thing I just bought the legends like two weeks ago mine get hot I thought it was just the blade but idk what's you think is the issue..
Change out the moving blade to the staggered tooth blade or a ceramic blade you definitely will hear the crunch even more that staggered tooth moving blade is a game changer on the legend with that extended lever it's the truth!!!
Both their cutting blades are described as giving a softer blend. Did you find the original blade to produce softer blends than the magic? What would you say is the difference in how they cut?
The cordless hair clipper requires constant maintenance. Internal parts such as the cam follower and blades should be clean and lubricated. The motor of the hair clipper should not be overloaded. It should only be used for fading and not for removing a large amount of hair.
Replacing the cam follower is the number one noise improvement step. Same with the Babyliss Fx trimmers (they include an extra one in the package, which is nice.)
