Mine is from 2020, some website say 6500, some say 7000, some websites say the magic clip has 120 min runtime (including Wahl) They’re a little all over the place. Do you still use them?
@@barberslounge yes I still have them and they've been 7200 rpm since they first released ... This has already been shown with an rpm tester.... 7200 rpm with the blade on
Thanks for all your recent reviews man. Really good stuff. Do you prefer the big company Wahl/Andis/Babyliss stuff over the new brands like Stylecraft that is getting pushed so hard on social media?
I actually prefer the newer brands nowadays, Andis & Wahl have been slow with keeping up with them, but I like seeing the big brands start to finally make a push
1. Did the upgrade the charging connector on the cord? On the Magic clip and Senior the cord would regularly fall off when trying to cut corded which forces you to buy 2 clippers to continuously work. 2. Did they upgrade the design of the lever? I like free flowing lever’s that are tight. On the Magic Clip and Senior the lever would easily loosen overtime and require retightening that would lead to cracks in the plastic right beneath the lever. 3. I wish they added a USB C port on the bottom similar to the cordless detailer design and with a charging stand. They also could’ve made their own Wahl one design similar to Babyliss that could’ve definitely made Wahl number one in the barber game again. 4. I love the new motor and concept of the blade that’s the only thing going for this clipper along with the new battery which are all pretty standard in the industry now.
@@rbtheballer agreed and lever is fine so far, gonna need some time to see how it holds up and charging cord is similar to the one on the Detailer I believe
@ solid machine, outclasses the other ones by far in my opinion, from the blade to the motor. Been debating on seeing if the stagger tooth cutting blade fits on it 🤔
You said other companies have a better one, which clippers are you thinking of? Great review btw bro, thank you for it. I'm looking to buy some cordless clippers to do self bald fades. I was sick of trying to hide my bald spots so I cut my own hair using my beard trimmers a couple weeks ago lmao. Turns out I had no idea what I was doing and I've been trying to learn ever since. The beard trimmers can't "zero gap", so I'm looking for something that can. I'm going to wait until black friday before I buy anything. I can probably get the vapor for a discount, or maybe something else depending on your recommendation! Thank you my brother
Nice review! I think the Seniors are still relevant even though there are so many other options out there. I wouldn't use them as my only clipper, there's other machines that have longer run times out there. But if I only wanted to use them I would keep like 3 at my station. I personally prefer click levers most of the time, it makes keeping track of the adjustments easy, I can hear and feel the click without looking away from the head. I don't do many skin fades but if I do, the Seniors cut closer than other fade blades, and that's where having a free floating lever is handy, you can make fine adjustments when removing the skin line so I always keep a pair around just for that. For the rest of the haircut I will just go with Rebels or my JRL's. I hadn't seen many reviews of the Vapor that made want to go get one. Thumbs up!
If you're a barber that's working in a shop, runtime is irrelevant because you should have two of everything. As for click levers, it depends on how you fade, because they don't blend the same way a floating lever can.
I thought the Magic Clip was horrible for the longest too, but that stagger tooth clip is really good for helping beginners blend. My Cordless Senior feels like it’s been struggling out the box
Your RPM measurements are off, by quite a bit. Vapor: 8,000 RPM Seniors: 7,200 New Black Magic Clips: 6,500 The Magic Clips will NEVER catch up to the load that the Seniors or the Vapors can because it would eliminate a product line.
Very in depth. No one else is providing this level of detail and quality

Not my cordless one, maybe they upgraded and didn’t tell anyone, either way still a motor with brushes and not best blades

We haven’t had any mentioning of that yet. Oiled the blades?
