Yeah, that game was not "woke" at all. I platinumed that game in 10 hours and seen nothing that they would have a problem with. However its because they seem sweet baby involved the call it woke and didn't play it. If sweet baby was never mentioned, they wouldn't have had any problems. Other than some glaring gameplay issues thats exacerbated the closer you get to the end.

I don't usually play soul's games. Not generally my type of game and a little too hard for my enjoyment. But thanks to gamapass, I tried this and loved it. Its a mix of different type of games. I didn't care about the main's character gender or race. My complaint was the around story and parry mechanism. But apart from that, I'm going full on with the game. I want to get all them gamescore points.

I think the expensive upgrades are to motivate replay value. I've experienced this in God of War. I beat GoW not gaining all the upgrades throughout my first play through. But once I started over on the hardest difficulty, I still had all my gear and was able to unlock the rest of the upgrades the 2nd time around. If Flintlock is anything like that, it's fine, imo that the upgrades are so expensive. It probably also inspires casual gamers to purchase from the store before ultimately dropping the game or lazy players that have the skill but want instant access to certain things. Thus making them a little more money on the side.

Shitty business practices are one thing...gouging gamers, carving games up for DLC and season passes, having single player games require an online connection etc. All that is absolutely fair game. I think the expensive upgrades are to motivate replay value. I've experienced this in God of War. I beat GoW not gaining all the upgrades throughout my first play through. But once I started over on the hardest difficulty, I still had all my gear and was able to unlock the rest of the upgrades the 2nd time around.
If Flintlock is anything like that, it's fine, imo that the upgrades are so expensive. It probably also inspires casual gamers to purchase from the store before ultimately dropping the game or lazy players that have the skill but want instant access to certain things. Thus making them a little more money on the side.
I played 5 hours or so. It’s 7-7.5/10. It’s mid and good. I don’t get the woke narrative.
