  • practicing cgdive's rigify fundamentals free course. so i found this amazing free model on sketchfab. it's low poly, but when smooth shaded it has nice details. I might use it as a base for my upcoming game, but first i want to try rigging it. I forgot some bone placement, so i take a peek on my previous zelda rig and on the rigify docs. This was fairly easy, but the hard part are off camera, where there are problems on the rig deformation, so it took a while to weight paint.
    Also i adjusted the metarig of the thigh bone's head upward a bit to match the hips. Though this makes a problem on the regenerated rig, where the legs doesn't bend correctly. I spent HOURS to figure out the problem, mostly on the bone roll. I even make my own addon to make trial and error a bit faster. finally i found the perfect setting of bone roll to fix it.
    btw, i'm planning to make a video review on cgdive's course if i ever finished it. i take notes on every chapter on my notion.
