Our Schwinteck slide is my biggest source of anxiety in our trailer. I've heard so many good things about the Vroom that if we ever run into issues I am going straight to Vroom to have it replaced. Thanks for sharing guys!
Good choice, I was sold when I saw Jared Gillis's review I sent you a while ago when he changed his out and you had problems in a previous video. When mine on our bedroom slide act up I'll be switching as well.
Congratulations on 10K! you two certainly deserve it. Glad you finally had the slide fixed. Someone needs to speak up about a lot of the low quality items that come with Grand design RV's.
Great “brain wellness “health tip. Always great stuff to learn. As a potential someday boondocker. Those slides must be a pain. Me being single don’t think I would need a rig with those slides. Just like boats trucks etc. The more options of bells and whistles? The more possibility of things and issues to fix, I like Keep It Simple. Thanks for all your great videos Dave and Jacqueline.
When we look at GD's now, we make sure we don't see Schwinteks on the big slides because of you issues. Looks like the don't use the on the bigger slides anymore.
We had a 2019 273mk reflection we had to get grand design to replace schwintek slide. Gears were grinding. They fixed it under warranty and while we were there traded it in on a 2023 295rl reflection with two ram slides. As I could see the same thing happening as it was to big of slide for schwintek
Congratulations on getting the slide issue resolved. We had the slide in our GD 260RD fail last year and immediately made an appointment to have the vroom installed. Its been a long wait, but we are scheduled to get the Vroom slide installed in late June. This will absolutely reduce the anxiety level on future trips!
Yes, it makes a huge difference when it comes to the anxiety. We always had to think twice about staying one night. You will love it! Thanks for watching and commenting! Safe travels! 😀😀❤️🚎
Just found this video. We have a 2021 Class-C with a 15' whole wall slide out driven by Schwintek. I would have avoided it like the plague if I only had known! So, we too discovered Vroom and are considering having it done soon. Excited to see how this turns out...... Nice. Learned a little bit about operating a slide. Like the comment that syncing should be done retracted not extended like Schwintek says. The Tuscon techs did an amazing job. They were very good explaining the system and operation as well. It's obvious to me how much work this entails and worth every penny IMHO. I feel like I should sprinkle Holy Water on the slide and pray before operating it. The anxiety we have is awful.
I hear ya. It is the one piece of gear that can render you immobile immediately. Vroom is complete game changer for us. No more slide prayers. Thanks for watching and let us know how it turns out.
Welcome to the grand design slide issue you have a module like.ours, and our side went out in less then a year.from purchase .Fixed now and I lube the track regard less what dealers says .so safe travel and enjoy your show .
Missed you guys, we have been freezing in Prescott, AZ. Back hm now. Very impressed with your new slide. Not sure if he was the owner who took care of you, but he's great and extremely thorough., hope you guys are good. We did hit some 70 degree plus at Willow Beach for a couple days.. Only $35 per night with the old person pass. A+++ a great place to chill.
We are glad that your new Vroom slide worked out so well! We are not jealous of the cartel scouts keeping watch over y'all, LOL 😂Matthew tried brushing his teeth with his left hand and it was difficult. Wonder if it would be easier to eat with our eyes closed! We might have to film that as Matthew would make a HUGE mess! 😂 ~ Shion and Matthew
Hello. Yes, it was worth it for our larger slide. I can’t speak to the smaller slides from personal experience. We do love the Vroom system on our rig. 😀😀🚎
So, I finally got to finish the video (this work thing gets in the way), when did Grand Design switch from a Rack/Pinion slide rail to a Schwinteck? We have a 2019 295RL and both slide sides have the Rack/Pinion (I guess thats the official name for it.) Basically its a big @$$ bar with teeth on it, a cog gear and a motor.
Not sure about when they started using Schwinteck, but from what we have heard, they seem to be ok in smaller slides. We are very happy with the new Vroom system as compared to the Schwintek we had in our large slide. Sounds like your system is good!!
We’re scheduled to get our Vroom slide installed in August. It was great to see this video! One question - does your slide fit more flush against the camper when closed now (vs with the Schwintek system)? Also, how many days did they take to install the new slide? I was under the impression that you dropped it off in the morning and picked it up that later that evening, but now I’m not sure. Thanks for making this video!
Awesome! It does sit pretty close to flush now. They were working their install techs pretty hard, so they now allow for more time. We just booked a room for 2 nights just to be safe. You will love it! Thank you for watching!! 😀😀🚎
I live in NC and have a GD Imagine 2500RL. The camper is currently in the shop with the slide stuck closed. Spent our whole week of July 4th vacation camping with the slide in. Do you know if Vroom ships the slide systems for other techs to install?
Bummer! Not a good way to spend the 4th. That’s a really good question. I know that they are currently training techs throughout the country but I don’t know if they use third party installers. I would reach out to them. They are easy to work with. Good luck! 😀😀
Yes they do. We live in CA and are heading to Patriots RV Garage in Aubrey, TX in either Nov or Dec to have both of our Schwintek slides on our 2021 Lance 2465 replaced with Vroom slides. I had tried for weeks to get a reply from Vroom in Tucson to no avail (and they still haven't replied or called despite many attempts to contact them) so I looked for authorized dealers (there aren't many) to do the install. I found Roland (the owner) at Patriots, called him and he was exceptional at explaining everything about how the slides work vs. the Schwinteks and what I needed to do in order to get started on this process. Our BR slide was stuck in, and fortunately for us, did it when we got home from a 4300 mile trip. Under warranty, our dealer here where we bought it, replaced the bad motor. It was in the shop for 2 weeks. We made the decision to have them replaced as the anxiety from always worrying about them getting stuck OUT was a problem. Not so much if they're stuck in, as we can access and use everything in just a smaller space when they're in. With that being said, we are heading to AK next year on a 2 month trip and do not want or need troubles with the slides. Hence the decision for the trip to TX. My son and my sister live very close to Aubrey so it's a win-win for us. And I knew from the moment I talked to Roland and saw his reviews and his YT videos on slides that he's done, that we were totally comfortable with him doing the work. He is an authorized Vroom installer, the only one in TX. There is another one, Custom RV in Red Bay, AL. that a fellow Lance owner used and is very pleased with their work. Hope this helps! Sorry for the long post! If you use Patriots, tell him Marcia Hamby sent you!
Thanks, we are in Indio until 1st of March and then heading east. Definitely going to look you up. Enjoy your channel, albiet the middle of the night sometimes. Lol. Thanks for the content and entertainment 😎
So what's the name of the guy (or business) you took it to for repair? Is it Vroom? He seemed knowledgeable. You really should give him even more credit.
If you think you’re gonna do Vroom ,, know that you’re going to pay out the ass and they have no appointments till after February 2024,, each my husband and I sent emails. He got a response and four days later I still haven’t gotten one. Sounds like a great item but getting your hands on it it’s gonna be really hard.
Yes, there is definitely a waiting list. We were on it for over 6 months. However, from what we have heard, they are ramping up production. It was worth the wait for us. 😀
Umm...the Baofeng radio is a 2 meter Ham Radio that to operate needs to be used by a FCC Licensed individual. If using on Citizen bands the Baofeng is over-powered and will subject you to persecution if caught. Just an FYI. If you really want to be safe you should have and still can buy just the small walkie talkies that can cost less than $25 and will give you just as much range for what you need. Sorry to be a buzz kill.
Hello, this Kenneth from NC. I enjoyed your again. People need to be respectful by cleaning up their their trash. I hope you don't get to wet in Arizona thanks
Schwintech=junk. The vroom guys overbuilt it and it’s done correctly. I’ve only seen a few problems from people. The worst was just a bad motor that was replaced quickly. It’s needed for a large slide.
You have radios that transmit on Ham Radio Frequencies and Public Safety Frequencies (Police, Fire, EMS). You can't use those without licenses. There are severe penalties for unlicendsed use. You need to get a FCC license (classes and testing required). If not, you need to get some FRS (Family Radio Service) radios, not Amateur Radios!
Thanks for the video on the Vroom
Thanks for watching and for commenting! 😀😀
Vroom Vroom! Nice upgrade and fix!
Thanks neighbor!
Our Schwinteck slide is my biggest source of anxiety in our trailer. I've heard so many good things about the Vroom that if we ever run into issues I am going straight to Vroom to have it replaced. Thanks for sharing guys!
Good call. The Schwinteks are especially bad on the large slides. Having that peace of mind is priceless. Best of luck and thanks for watching! 😀😀🚎
Gotta say it...... the end out-take was hilarious! 🤣😂😅
Jacqueline would like to apologize for her profanity. 😂😂
seems like you found a pretty cool guy to help you out... he was awesome!
Yes! Joey is awesome!
Thanks for the behind-the-scenes walkthrough. I see Vroom coming to our rescue too.
You’ll love it!!!
Good choice, I was sold when I saw Jared Gillis's review I sent you a while ago when he changed his out and you had problems in a previous video. When mine on our bedroom slide act up I'll be switching as well.
Yes. It’s a pretty important piece in the mix. Thanks for the heads up!
Congratulations on 10K! you two certainly deserve it. Glad you finally had the slide fixed. Someone needs to speak up about a lot of the low quality items that come with Grand design RV's.
Thank you! One day at a time. It’s a great life on the road! Thanks for watching and commenting!! 😀😀❤️🚎
Unfortunately Schwintech slides are used in most RV brands
Yes. We are seeing that.
Super educational, I have a slide acting up so fond this quite interesting. Thanks
Hey Ken. Yes, it can be a deal breaker!
Great content guys, dig the outtakes at the end☺️☺️
Lol. Thanks! 😀😀
Thanks for the info. We have the same on our 2017 27rl. We're hoping not to have a problem but we probably will.
It’s definitely something to keep an eye on! Thanks for watching! 😄😄🚎❤️
Another great video and congratulations on 10K !
Thanks Chris! 😀😀
@19:17😂😂 So funny! Congratulations on 10K! The numbers are going to come faster now…
Thank you!! 😀😀

Thanks Dave! There is a lot of truth to that!
Glad to see your slide is fixed keep us up on how its doing
Thank you! We will definitely keep you posted! 😀😀🚎
Let us know how you like the Vroom slide system in a future video 😊
We will for sure! 😀😀
When we look at GD's now, we make sure we don't see Schwinteks on the big slides because of you issues. Looks like the don't use the on the bigger slides anymore.
I believe that they are moving away from them on the bigger slides. Which is a very good thing.
Great clip so happy you guys got your slide fixed long overdue!!!
Yes!
Glad you got your slide fixed!! Take care out there!!
Thanks you guys!
Learned how to Sync ...nice
Yes!
Dave, Jacquelin must be real super smart!
Very! 😀
Great Vroom review. Was interested in the process. I wish you could option in Vroom slides on new RVs.
Right????

Great clip! Loved hearing you, at the GDRV rally. You guys are great. Hope you are here next year.
Thank you. Yes to next year with better weather! Fun times regardless.
Congratulations on 10K!! The blooper cracked us up!!! We just lived with our one slide in for two months, because of a Schwintek Slide failure.
Thanks you guys! Yes, those slides are a pain. Safe travels! 😀😀🚎

will do. Btw, love 'anxiety'. Something I've been enduring for a very long time.@@TheBorderHookups
@spacecadet4876 Hang in there! You’re not alone. 😀
@@TheBorderHookups I'm hanging in!
I saw the link, but I noted the Baofeng radio not in your store anywhere (?)
@spacecadet4876 We will put it in. 😀
So cool. VROOOM VROOOM . Great shop. Thanks

Hey there. Yes, we had a lot of issues. Not fun. The Vroom system is far superior. Thank you for watching and for your comment! Safe travels!! ❤️🚎
Your new slide system looks amazing. The new wear plates look like plexiglass…what are they made out of?
I believe that they are aluminum. We love it so far!
Great information. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Frank! 😀😀

Lol. All good ideas. Please report back. 😂. Yes, we love the new slide. Let’s hope for good weather today!!!! 🚎🔥
Where did you stay while you were in Tucson with your dogs, thanks Jim
A little confused. We don’t have dogs, but we have stayed at the Tucson KOA. 😀
So these are definitely worth it correct? Hope to have ours installed by Early June!! The schwinteck should only be put in small slides only.
Hello. Yes, it was worth it for our larger slide. I can’t speak to the smaller slides from personal experience. We do love the Vroom system on our rig. 😀😀🚎
Hi guys, just wondering what is the name of the shop you got the work done. Thanks again for all your videos.
Hi Bill. It’s called Vroom Slide System. They are in Tucson.
How’s the system work still great I hope 🤞 really look to get the set up
We love it! No regrets! 😀😀
Be careful! You'll put your eye out! LOL
Lol. Best movie ever!

No. We don’t have a slide topper. Too loud in the wind. 😀
What size slide was that that they installed the vroom system
130 inches in length
