Hello dear The DJs Guru, I just got the new Mackie XT this morning. When I unpacked them, there were a lots of particles of oil inside the plastic bag and on the speakers too. When I plugged them there is a very strong hiss noise for both speakers (First time I hear this so loud on Active Speakers) Did those matters happened to too? Should I send them back to the shop? Thanks for your time, Very appreciate it, Charly
I recently just recieved the thump 215 and the green signal/ol light is always on. Is this normal? Every video or review I see the same thing is happening to theirs. I'm using a mixer and all gains and volumes is set to unity
Hey there! Sorry for the late reply here. The Bluetooth isn't useless, it's just a matter of tracking your signal path. When you connect a Bluetooth device directly to the mains, you're bypassing the sub. However, you can actually get around this by using the full-range output on the main 212xt and plugging it into the subwoofer instead of the other way around. It seems a little goofy to plug your signal into the main first and then down to the sub, but if you need to use Bluetooth it can absolutely work. Just make sure you don't have the sub wired in a loop. One cable ONLY from the speaker out to the sub in, and that's it. Otherwise it'll cause all kinds of other problems.
Hey Pierre, I don't think there is a way to wirelessly link a BST and XT because they use different management apps. I think that's part of why Mackie had to refresh the whole speaker line to the new XT stuff ... it's because the digital management system and app integration has all been upgraded with the new speakers (which also might be why the app seemed to work better for me as I mentioned in my part 2 video). ~ Switch
Hi Albert! I'm going to go more into detail on the next video, but the biggest thing you'll notice with the two side-by-side is that the BST's used a digital screen and a single control knob for all of the wireless and digital mixing features, but the XTs switch to physical knobs/buttons on each channel. Removing the screen may have been a cost-saving measure (I have not confirmed this, but "saving costs" would be my guess), but it also simplifies the way you interact with the XTs so that if something needs to be adjusted quickly, you don't have to navigate a digital menu, you can simply reach over and make the adjustments.
@@joshuagilfillan3190 I didn't forget, I just left the comparison up to the second video I mentioned in which I spent twice as much time going over the relevant features and upgrades. This was a "first look" video to take them out to a couple gigs and give an overview of the speakers themselves (along with some fun shots of boats and parrots). That said, a +/-2db variance isn't audibly distinguishable, and I liked last generation's drivers as much as I liked the new ones, so there's no point in spending time on those talking points over the course of the two videos I made to discuss these excellent speakers. To do so would have been a waste of the viewer's time, and I'm already grateful for any time folks spend watching these videos, so I try not to waste it.
I'm working on it, I promise! I had a couple huge events and then got sick for a week (just a cold, and I"m all better now), but I'm hoping to get some shooting done and have a part 2 video for you soon!
Respectfully, you're comparing a speaker that costs over $1,000 to the Thumps which all cost less than $500 at MAP. All speakers and amplifiers will heat up and distort if you overdrive them, but not everyone needs to spend twice as much to be able to operate their DJ or Pro Sound business, especially for smaller events like what I've been using them for.

I'm pretty sure this is normal. The light will flash red if you're clipping, otherwise it's just indicating that a signal is present.
I have a 212xt and apparently the bluetooth is useless when hooking up a sub.
Elaborate please. That doesn’t make sense.

What about the bass ? How is the Bass?
Do you know if you can bluetooth connect between a BST and a XT?
