Nice review.... but you should look at the EV Everse 8. You can literally power a wireless mic off the speaker with its on board dc out power. A true wireless system for a ceremony.

100% plus I love the app for the EV Everse 8. It’s basically having a mixer on your iPad. A Everse 8 speaker, iPad, and a microphone receiver on top and that’s all you need!

I have had them all: Mackie Thump Go, Bose S1 Pro (Original), Yorkville EXM 8 and now the Ev Everse 8. The Everse 8
Is so much louder and d/c powers my Sennheiser dual lav receiver. Thump Go was great at the price point and size but for my ceremonies I felt like I needed (2) to do the job and still had to bring a small jackery for the mics.

As usual Great review.. I have a pair of these and matched them with the prime go and i do not have any complaints. these things hold battery life good and also the prime go holds a good battery life. and yes you have to still power mics with an additional battery like stated below i just built a 4u rack and put the mics and battery in the rack works pretty well for me.

I plan to use these for ceremonies and cocktail hours, very small events and parties, or putting extra sound in other rooms at events. Cross my fingers that I they work well for me and I decide to keep them. I was debating between this and the everse. I have a charity event next coming Saturday. I may bring these out instead of my K12's, but not sure if I should use brand new gear at a gig. Should I use them a bit at home first.

I bought 4 of these about a year ago and 4 spare batteries, I have never used the spare batteries and they have never come off the green in at least 5-6 hrs and are rugged , after over 75 events for Karaoke, DJ,Back Music fantastic, these do have adequate thump but you must eq your computer to beef the bass more, they do have it, if you run a flat line eq you won't get that extra, I will say to get adequate volume in the number one channel you must use a quality shure wireless, or a small mixer, I use a small Yamaha mixer with a 12 volt power pak, the bluetooth is rock solid both in linking and pairing, I have over 50 years in music and these are ny go to, for large events these will be loud but not the thump you need

Rick, great review as usual. I have been impressed with Mackie’s new line of equipment. I believe the Mackie SRM 212 V series I’ll be my choice to upgrade from my current EV ZLX-15s. I am still debating on what subs to chose. Being a Cerwin Vega and JBL legacy fan, I had to open my Interest to the the other quality sound equipment Mfrs.
I went to my local Guitar Center to preview the SRM V series but they didn’t have them at the time. I like the low weight, clear sound, not harsh like I find with the EV ZLX. I will keep the ZLX speakers as they have been good speakers and done very well for the entry level price point.
DMX lighting upgrades and control are in the future too. I plan to contact you to purchase up lighting soon.
    Thanks Russell Guthrie

Great all in one speaker but really needs an USB power out for charging music devices or powering a 5v mini Wi-Fi streamer. Better still, fit a built in Wi-Fi streamer like many active Hifi speakers these days! Streaming bluetooth is fine at events, but you then have to keep the device with the music on it near the speaker. If you’re juggling many systems in several rooms or outside spaces at a large venue you then have the extra hassle of keeping them charged. Controlling multiple systems streaming hi-res music via Wi-Fi, all on the same network with one device would be awesome and without a great deal of extra expense. Anyway, great review. 👍🙏

But you missed the mark on labeling these as the "Best battery Speaker 2023". The EV Everse 8 literally "THUMPS" these Mackies. I can appreciate you time for your review, but The EV Everse 8 is the best. I have compared the EV against the Thump GO and Bose S1 pro, and the EV wins hands down. The reason you don't like apps with speakers, is because the Mackie app is ok, but the EV app is very intuitive. I don't understand why anyone would want to have more knobs, that can be broken, or moved position in transport.

They could have made this speaker cheaper by removing Bluetooth & App software feature. The reason why I say this is because everyone I talked to regarding the Mackie Thump Go, are using it as a portable battery operated DJ speakers. So they would connected it to a mixer which is then connected to DJ mixer or controller.

@DJRickWeb Mackie speaker quality went down ever since RCF left loud technologies. For business, I would pick the better quality and that's Ev

Love all 4 of our JBL Eon battery powered. Had good audio for 600 people at the beach in Bluetooth.
Want to check out the EV with DC power out

@@diamondosu I meant the eon one for sure. Way too easy to limit. Otherwise they are cool
