True there is no formal way to un-baptize. There was however a formal way to leave the church. It was called an Act of Formal Defection and existed from I think 1983 to 2010 or so. I know about it because I used it myself. You had to write a letter to the diocese in which you were baptized basically telling them you were leaving, and leaving because you really wanted to, not just to get out of a church tax like they have in Germany. Supposedly the entered a notation in your baptism records that you left. I have no idea if they actually did, but they sent a letter back to that effect. They abolished the procedure after thousands of people in Ireland and elsewhere began using it and I guess they found that embarrassing.
@@kenofken9458Baptism leaves an indelible mark on one's soul. You can not undo a Baptism. Prior to Baptism your actions were judged by the moral Law written on your heart. “14. For when the Gentiles, who have not the law, do by nature those things that are of the law; these, having not the law, are a law to themselves. 15. Who shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness to them: and their thoughts between themselves accusing or also defending one another,” (Rom 2:14-15, DRC) After Baptism you are dependent on the Church for the remission of your sins and access to the gates of Heaven. “Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them: and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” (Joh 20:23, DRC) “And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.” (Mat 16:19, DRC) After coming to the knowledge of Christ there is no excuse. “Jesus said to them: If you were blind, you should not have sin: but now you say: We see. Your sin remaineth.” (Joh 9:41, DRC)
Like I say to my adult children and non-practicing siblings, there are some rare occasions that I might disagree with the Church’s stand on some issue, but then I have to remind myself that there are billions of other Catholics that have held to that belief over the centuries and - well - maybe I’m not actually smarter than all of them…oh, and there is that thing about The Holy Spirit being sent to guide the Church. So, even though I take pains to study philosophy and theology, and consider myself pretty much “on the right track”, I have to make sure eat my share of humble pie on occasion (and go to confession regularly 😂)
That’s not how baptism (or other sacraments work). Those people don’t know their own faith and seem to be Catholic only on paper. Good news: if you want to be in eternal separation from god, you don’t need to „de-baptize“ - you just have to go on living with your false morals.
Oh.. oh no need because "sacrament of baptism can only be administered once. For offenses after baptism, remedy is the Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession. Usually, First confession is done before a faithful's first Communion. After that, according to church law, Confession should be done regularly according to person's circumstances or at least once a Year.

If they are not willing to accept that they are not the center of the universe, that the Church is bigger than then and their ideologies, that Christ is King and they are not, then leave they should.
“De-baptized?”…what in the world is that supposed to mean? Didn’t anybody teach these kids basic theology? It’s not like leaving a club. Nobody can “undo” a baptism.
These people were baptized while being babies, when it was a social duty to do it. Now, growing older, they think of themselves as being “enlightened” and want to distance themselves from the church. They lacked a religious upbringing.
"Asking to be de-baptized" shows about the level of catechetical formation I'd expect from people who think what they're asking for is at all compatible with Christianity.
They don't have to ask its their free will to not participate. I hope they truly know what they are asking for. To reject what Jesus did on the Cross for us is rejecting The Holy Spirit and their Salvation. To spend eternity seperated from God is beyond belief.
With or without you the Church will remain strong. It is upto you to choose your eternal place. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. The church reflects Christ. And the gates of hell shall not prevail over it. Let them leave, they know their ending.
The Church is the foundation of a never changing Faith. We do not bow to the times of man but to our Lord Jesus Christ who from the beginning is the same!!!
I tell people who feel and think like these particular Belgians do. Would you rather have and trust someone in your life who is a "yes" person and is a wishy-washy person who changes at the whim of every situation or circumstance or would you rather have someone who is consistent, trustworthy, and will always be honest with you. I wouldn't want to be part of a religion that changes itself to make people feel better and satisfy the egos of the believers. I want to be part of a religion that stems from objective truth, and through that truth, the branches of that tree reflect the fullness of the fruit it was meant to bear.
When the crowds did not want to follow what Jesus preached he did not run after them reframing his message , he let them go. We should learn from our Lord, more will leave and fall away than will follow, we do not move off of truth to pander to those with sensitive ears.
What the Church needs is "Renewal of the mind" as mentioned in Rom 12:2. When we "format" our minds we start thinking right. When we think right we practice right. Masculinisation of women resulted in denial of love to the children. Denial of love affects our thinking and we become materialistic focused only on sensory satisfaction. We will not understand matters of the spiritual realm and even if it is spelt out to us we will not be able to comprehend it. This is why "Renewal of the mind" is so important in the church. Ideally this should be done before administering the Sacrament of Conformation.
Its better for them to leave rather than contaminating the other...cause many still belive in those values...and those value are there for a reason...they will learnt that later in live
No body should cry for people who want to leave the church because they don't like Church teachings or can't comform to the teachings of Christ. You don't force anyone to get salvation. It's a choice.
Let them be apostate, as it is out of their own free will. It is not as if this is unusual. Hundreds of Catholics who adopt strenuous positions against church teaching in a public way also give themselves to being out of communion with the Church. As painful as it may seem, this is a clear choice made.
I think the most funny part to me at least is that in the current church climate I think that letter would actually cause our "church leaders" to rethink the dogmas and teachings of the Church 😂 Imagine if the Church said "maybe Luther was right. We should get rid of those seven books of the Bible". I think it will get there the way we're going, maybe 20-40 years if the church isn't force to go underground before.
@ChaChaDancin interesting that you spin my words to "attack on the pope and church". No where did I mention Pope Francis and no where did I even remotely "attack" the church. Those students attacked the church, so maybe you think I'm an apostate? Do people really not think before commenting? Sorry if you felt that way, that you can't see anything but "attacker" at the slightest comment. I'm just remarking/finding levity in that now, when the church is more and more progressively liberal is the most likely time that the church would actually entertain and consider changing teachings. I got a good laugh from that. It's bad when almost every major act by a Pope is controversy among moderate catholics who I personally know (because the radicals on both sides are hysterical). And lastly, it's my personal belief that the church *will* go underground in the next 50 years or so regardless. Europe's faith is declining, if even existent anymore, and with communist China, Russia, etc ... threatening the world with world war, it's very possible. Oh, and just so we're clear, I never said anything about Pope Francis. In fact, good on him for saying what he said to them and you can see those students discovering that their "faith" is not what they thought it was. But I wonder who put that in their heads in the first place 🤔

15. Who shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness to them: and their thoughts between themselves accusing or also defending one another,” (Rom 2:14-15, DRC)
After Baptism you are dependent on the Church for the remission of your sins and access to the gates of Heaven.
“Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them: and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” (Joh 20:23, DRC)
“And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.” (Mat 16:19, DRC)
After coming to the knowledge of Christ there is no excuse.
I laugh at these "progressives". Abortion is murder. Props to the Pope.
They refuse God and his commandment so will God refuse them in eternity.
After that, according to church law, Confession should be done regularly according to person's circumstances or at least once a Year.
the progressiveness of the world......
Nah, not for me thanks.
Why do young people think they know better than a 2000 year old Church?
We are not to conform to the worlds ways, but to GODS! Jesus Christ is Lord. Please Holy Father do not conform to the world and leave Gods commandments behind.
These students should devote their energies to getting a better education & being useful members of society.
Why judge them for speaking out their minds like they should?
@@SegundaEtapa-r8w we correct the young and foolish if we care for them.

Truth is eternal, it shouldn't be altered or compromised. After the discourse on the bread of life many left Jesus saying that it was difficult and hard to accept. But Jesus did not retract or modify his teaching!
It’s Belgium…seriously…Belgium. What did we expect? 😂😂😂
Abortion is killing or murder and woman is forever a woman … ❤

If you disagree wit the teaching of the church you are not Catholic, and you do not hold the truth with you.
"In the end my Immaculate Heart will Triumph"
Our Lady of Fatima
May the Lord have mercy on their souls, for pride their souls has fallen. Rebellion against the Lord and the Holy Spirit is a very terrible sin.
What are you talking about? The church gave a heavy burden to a bunch of unprepared people by a bunch of terrible leaders.
I do not even understand what they were annoyed about.
Woke mind virus
Acts 2:38 KJV
[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Belgium and Holland were at the forefront of changes after vatican 2. this has led to wokeness across the entire society.
it is so clear that they were not even catholic! If they were they would have a slight idea that baptism can not be reversed. Apostatize and go your own way dudes
I started a three day fast this morning. Thank you for this message.i'm 47yrs old $73,000 biweekly and I'm retired, this video have inspired me greatly in many ways!!!!❤️❤️
Hello, how do you achieve such biweekly returns? As a single parent i haven't been able to get my own house due to financial struggles, but my faith in God remains strong.
I'm inspired.
Please spill some sugar about the biweekly stuff you mentioned
This is a definition of God's unending provisions for his people. God remains faithful to his words. 🙏 I receive this for my household
Wow 😱I know her too
Miss Kate Elizabeth Becherer is a remarkable individual who has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life.
I started with a miserly $1500. The results have been mind blowing I must say TBH
Viva il Papa 🤩
If they are not willing to accept that they are not the center of the universe, that the Church is bigger than then and their ideologies, that Christ is King and they are not, then leave they should.
What faith did they have?
The letter is proof that the *already* lost their Faith and already had left the Church and Our Lord.
Everytime I see comments like this I just see how many of you are the ones that left the church and God.
Viva Papa Francesco
I am in the Catholic church not because of the Pope or magisterium but because of Christ Himself.
That’s a pretty strong judgement over some strangers. Be careful, unless you’ll be the one heavily judged.
The Church is the foundation of a never changing Faith. We do not bow to the times of man but to our Lord Jesus Christ who from the beginning is the same!!!
Good morning Holy Papa Fransiskus.
Apostasy? They are playing with fire with pun intended.
When the crowds did not want to follow what Jesus preached he did not run after them reframing his message , he let them go. We should learn from our Lord, more will leave and fall away than will follow, we do not move off of truth to pander to those with sensitive ears.
Wow The Audacity. Makes me ponder more on how God sees the arrogance of demons and why there is Hell.
You can’t be de-baptized.
That's okay. They are not a lost to the catholic church
You do not bite the hand that feeds your soul.
Pope Francis here reminds me of Jesus. Jesus asked his Disciples: Do you also want to leave.
Have they never heard church teaching on those subjects ever before in their lives? They are just doing that to make a stunt.
Let them be at least in this way the Church gets rid of some absurd so-called Catholics.
Ill formed "Catholics" instead of being "De Baptized" they need to learn their faith💯 There is no "Mob Rule" in Gods Church...
Once baptized always baptized, there’s no practice to debaptize, how would that even happen
I love this Pope and he has no place judging others. I suspect a lot of this is to appease his "conservatives".
Good on Frank for supporting the Tradition, for once
Pope Francis is very special and powerful
Debaptised? They are catholics? So, they throw away Jesus's gift for humanity? This is I think, the worst sin, against the Holy Spirit.
for their sake and ours I hope theres was not the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost that Jesus mentioned in the gospels....it won't be forgiven.
@RedRiverMan You said it, brother. I also hope it!
They see Baptism as the membership of a local swimming pool, they're completely lost.
Prayers for the Pope, he is sifting the wheat.
You can’t be debaptized. Just saying
The pope is right in this matter.
Its better for them to leave rather than contaminating the other...cause many still belive in those values...and those value are there for a reason...they will learnt that later in live
Frankly, I am shocked by two things. That Bergoglio said anything close to being the truth and that anyone listened to what he said.
I'm with Pope Francis
They were never catholics to begin with and desperately need to repent. Also, 500? In a religion of 1.3B? Ok
I feel sorry for those people, they don't know what they believe or what they want. The Church must stand up firm and True for all time.
A baptized Catholic cannot be unbaptized. It's like a Priest once you are consecrated you are always a Priest even if you leave the priesthood.
The Church is meant to be a guide for people's morals and do the right thing not to change to the whims of a few protestors
No body should cry for people who want to leave the church because they don't like Church teachings or can't comform to the teachings of Christ.
You don't force anyone to get salvation. It's a choice.
The ego to want to be de-Baptized would mean you value political sentiment and melodrama over deep spiritual truth and ecclesial authority.
Interesting, even on a video showing the Pope fighting for truth, there are still some who are compelled to attack him and the Church.
@@Thomas_Guida a long but ultimately unpersuasive explanation. Yes, you did attack the church and our “church leaders”. Own it at your next confession.
@@ChaChaDancin how Christian of you 😂 judging others. Just like every rad trad and liberal whacko in the church. Who are you to judge? Get off your high horse. Take the log out your eye before you take the splinter from others. I believe the Pope sides with me on that one too. So how about you say that at your next confession. You are the very problem that plagues the church today.
The Catholic church did change things because of his letter. Maybe they should give these students demands a look and decide what’s best.
It’s funny that they are asking for it; rather than just rejecting their baptism. 😂
That is why we are in war in this time….
God have mercy on us 🙏🏻
