    So far best ever and cheapest and most simple made sharpener i have seen, bookmark'ed ! thanks

    Having declared my dissatisfaction with this sharpener last night ruclips.net/user/postUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ I thought about the problem some more. It occurred to me that I might be undoing each attempt at achieving a sharp edge by the repeated attempts. So, I tried to clean up the unsatisfactory result by honing with only positions 3 and 4.Miracle!! A really nicely sharpened chef's knife, more than enough to handle my needs. Admittedly, it did not reach professionally sharpened razor-fineness, but it is now significantly sharper than it was. A bout of breaking down carrots convinced me. So, major apologies to the manufacturer, Amazon, and all happy and potential owners! Follow the directions: don't buy it if you have ceramic blades; and don't overwork your knife blade.

    If you made several copies of the sandpaper holder (just that little part, not the whole jig), you could leave a different grade of sandpaper (60 grit, 200 grit, etc.) in each one, and you wouldn’t have to switch out the sandpaper pieces.

    • @agustxm5877
      @agustxm5877 5 лет назад +1

      yes but the sandpaper every time will sharpen less, just is for 2 uses and change i guess

    I am writing to you from Chile, South America. Excellent work, very neat, functional and at the same time economical. As a contribution, I would install a magnet in the area where the knife rests. Congratulations!!!!

    20° per side? That's 40° inclusive.
    Good angle for an axe, not a knife.
    What are the measurements for the one you made?
    What should a second slot for 10 degrees be? The "about 20 degrees" measurement is good for my axe, so it would be useable for that. A second rod slot for 10 degrees (+ or - 2 degrees) is needed.
