Unbelievable work Al, when Joe gets Scraps I really don't think he will have much to do to prepare the body for paint, the upper dash panel i think was expected, they all get rot there, mine did too! Looks great, can't wait to see it on your trailer, have a great day bud

Great Great Video. Today a farmer down the road from me has a Case 446 Garden tractor that wants me to pound out dents in rear fenders and hood and then get them ready for paint and shoot 2K orange on the fenders and that hood, Going to use the same body filler that you use and see how it goes, Like the tips that you do on the way you lay body fill, So it's off to the barn and start time to pound out dents. Big Thanks to you.
@@jonathanolsen7254 Hello please keep me posted on that it sounds like a great project. Definitely stir the filler. They have a gold that goes on a lot smoother but it’s a little more expensive. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great night 👍🏼AL
You could never imagine the memories you’ve brought here. That last Yenko I told you about, we had to do this and much more, not only was the top of the dash rotted, the majority of the firewall on the lower outside on both sides was gone. We bought a complete factory firewall in the original boxes from GM in 1969, from a supplier that was located in East Aurora NY, who specialized in OEM antique parts that were brand new unused. I don’t know if he’s still in business, it was very expensive. But when it was done, it looked like fresh from the factory. If you ever decide to do an Oldsmobile, contact me, I have a supplier that has OEM everything for an Olds, to this day, I know he’s still in business, I just used his services last year. Scraps is really shaping up. Just a personal opinion, with those dog dishes on there, and no vinyl top, it’s lean, light and definitely COPO looking, just a thought. Sometimes less is more! 👍

Hey my friend. Excellent work on Scraps. Too bad you aren't putting the vinal top back on it. That car would look amazing with the Rallye green, black hockey stripes and black vinal top with the chrome trim to break it up. Paint the steelies body colour and poverty caps, that car would be amazing. I wish I could buy it.😅
@@carlockert2214 Hello again sorry I forgot to mention that it has a small block with a turbo 350 automatic transmission and 373 posi rear. It should be a fun car to drive I think. Thank you again 👍🏼AL
Al, just make your viewers aware that removing the VIN can be dicey in some states unless you contact the DMV first and they witness the removal and replacement. NY's DMV laws are a little loose compared to NC where I am, from what I understand anyway

Im missing those clips on my 67 right now and it looked like it was mission impossible to get them on without moving the fenders. So while Scraps is at the body shop will you be installing seat covers other stuff needed to install the interior? Also can you tell me where to get the rosette rivets. I removed my pillar vin on my 67 Camaro years ago. I want the correct rivets because our local DMV will hassle me when tagging it.
@@sunoco1967 Honestly I have a few ideas while scraps is at the body shop so will see LOL. You can find the rivets on eBay there about $15 or so. I hope this helps. Thank you very much for watching. Have a great night 👍🏼AL
Why not cut the rot out and repair it under dash while it’s accessible? I know you mentioned it not being structural or anything but just knowing that it’s there, coated or not, would eat me alive. Already repaired all the other rot in the car with fresh metal, just a little more labored love at this point haha
