    I'm struggling so bad with the gradients. I think this video has helped more than all the ones on the evolve site, and it's basically the same thing. 😂

      I think it's the camera angle showing it from the side that helped me the most.

    Thank you so much for posting. I've really enjoyed your Evolve videos and it's cool to see the demonstration ones from Kevin.

      Very glad to help! I stalked your RUclips page a bit haha and saw that you're into YNAB? I've been using it for a year and I'm a huge fan. I feel like Evolve and YNAB are very similar in that people who use them really love it passionately :3

      Ha yeah I started using YNAB when I was in school because finances were tight and I never really learned to manage my money before then. I had it recommended at some point and it's been the thing I've suck with since to help with that even now that I'm out of school and working.
      Really appreciate watching your videos. Honestly I originally came across your channel when I was making one of my several failed attempts at getting started with Draw a Box. So I've felt that your videos have been really relatable to my own situation. The Evolve videos have really got me interested in trying the program. Good luck. Super cool that you're able to take a gap year and study there at the Art Academy. It's been really cool seeing your progress. Makes me feel encouraged to keep at it myself.

    could you somehow ask kevin this? but i dont understand one thing, why do we fill all of it, if the buffer is meant to block it in the end anyways? cant we just leave it white until the buffer is put?

    • @bonquva

      and why dont we do gradients bob ross style? like just no color but a big brush only

    So in this scenario you have 2 shades of gray…. With 2 interim shades of blending for the edges…. Assuming this could be more depending on how smooth you want it? Is that dependent upon the shape and texture of the subject ?

    Question: the first exercise, we were to stay within the lines. Now in this one it goes out which seems to be the exact opposite. and it drives me nuts after getting so focused on staying in. I am sure there is a reason; wondering what it is?

    • @themith3945
      @themith3945  2 года назад

      The first exercise is to learn how to control the brush and the paint. This one is to learn how to do gradients. There are different definitions of a successful homework for each

      @@themith3945 Thanks! Would it be ok to stay in the boxes while learning gradients or is going out of it part of the exercise?
