@@JudeandherPencil maybe I’ll share some tips that I’m learning from the program as well so I could maybe be of little help to others but only once I feel like I have a really good grasp of what I’m doing 🤣🤣
WOW!!! Those paintings are amazing! It's awesome to see how you are developing through this course. And I really appreciate that you keep posting about your experience and development. It's great to see the progression of the whole course and not just the beginning. SIGH if only I had the time and the money! I've been practing a bit with gouache, and I realized I need to go back to greyscale to work on values. It's not the same as your course, but I'm definitely taking in what you're working on and trying to incorporate it into my own practice. I totally agree that having a teacher helps a lot in development. I want to take a course when I'm off school for the summer.
I know it’s quite pricey but compared to actually going to school, I mean the price difference is HUGEEEE.. at least that’s how I’m trying to justify it 😭😭 I’ll keep posting my journey through out the program, & once I start getting a real good grip I’ll start sharing some tips!! I hope maybe one day I can teach people like Kevin does, it must really be so rewarding to help others in their art journeys
Thank you for sharing your Evolve journey, Miryam! It's very helpful to understand values, and how to create realistic paintings. I love how you took your knowledge to create your own art. The baby portrait is very cute♥
Thank you Laura! It’s definitely an interesting one, finally got around to starting the proportional drawing side of things & im excited for what is to come!
i do think this course is a helpful one for people wanting to learn oils or to improve their skills, im just done with art education or I would seriously think about it
It’s a great one, I’ve never been to an art class. But what’s really drawn me to this program is how they are teaching & providing feedback on technical application- & not whether or not your art is good lol
Evolve teaches ART (fundamentals in course 1 and the more advanced principles in course 2) through the medium of oil painting and the format of realism. Art principles don't change by medium or format; they're the same across all visual art disciplines.
That’s exactly how I was thinking, but then I realized I’m not looking at the brightest part of the object or the highlight, I’m looking at it as a whole picture. For example, I could have a black ball closer to the light source and a pink cup further away. The black ball being closer to the light source will not make it a lighter value than the pink cup, because I’m looking at the depth of the color itself- not the placement in relation to the light source 😊
@@mariemoncada6980 it could be, but all that depends on the value of the color itself & not the location. Isn’t that so cool?!? Haha!! nice seeing you in the Q&A today!! Hope to get a chance to chat with you!
This is the first unsponsored vid I've seen. Nice
Thank you so much for this, Im in Evolve right now. Your points are valid! Thank you for this vid, great clarity and motivation to get it!
That portrait of your baby turned out great! You’ve got this!
Thank you Harry!! It’s hanging in my living room lol I can’t wait to see how much I improve 🎉🎉
Amazing portrait! Really super! I’m in the Evolve course and look forward to being able to produce a portrait like the one you did.
Thank you Catherine! You’ll be there in no time!!! 😁❤️❤️

What is the name of the art instructor's youtube channel, so we can watch his live paintings?
Look up “Evolve Artist” they are actually live right now!! 😊😊
His name is Kevin Murphy, but the channel he goes live on is Evolve Artist
@@DarkstarCreations thank you so much!! I need to work on my values and gradients too.
I'm confused about your confusion. Isn't it true that the closer you are to the light the lighter it is?

@@DarkstarCreations but the black cup COULD still be lighter than the pink cup right
@@DarkstarCreations I love your art! I'm also self taught and going through EVOLVE rn
