Have been welding for 37 years, everything under the sun but NEVER down hill. Been running this on 6in. for the last 2 weeks. Much respect to your skills, I teach welding and thanks for a great down to earth smack down. I tip my hat to you. Mine looks nothing like that.....

Great info on fighting high low and fingernails. Took me a while to learn how to manipulate the rod to counter that. Thanks for the video.

I didn't really understand he confused me, was he saying point the rod and the arc towards the side the puddle is sticking too, Or point it to the opposite side the puddles not sticking too?

@@Imthemfman move the rod towards the fingernail. Its counter intuitive like a rudder on a ship.

learning to weld with one hand is the best advice that you can give to anyone , I have one hand one the remote and one on the stinger at all times . If that red half moon gets close and catches up with the rod crank it up . light up with 5/32 on top then switch to 1/8 on the tight bottom .

Jake, Love your work mate and thanks for the instruction and help your putting out there.
You gotta stay healthy though, check the new guidance from the UK Health and Safety Executive on mild steel welding fume now classified as carcinogenic.
It's advised RPE (air fed hoods) is used even outdoors to protect the welder and anyone in the area. Burn hot and stay safe brother...
