  • On the 3rd day, we scaled back the ride to a more leisure ride of just 40km over an elevation gain of 5,800 ft by climbing the Tataka Mountain, which is by no means easy where the slopes can be as tough as 25% gradient. We started from the Heshe town and climbed non-stop to the summit of Tataka mountain in the Yushan National park. From there we'll take the mini-van to the hotel in the town Shizhao.
The original plan was 130km with 6,000 ft of elevation gain by cycling non-stop from Yuchi town, then climbing up the Tataka Mountain in the Yushan National park and riding down to the town of Shizhao. But the previous two days of brutal cycling took a toll on our bodies and we decided to scale back on riding on the road under the hot sun in high humidity.
