Dear Carol. Today I received the most beautiful book, Vorrei Dirti, which I purchased based on your recommendation(s). I am blown away, not only by the gorgeous illustrations but also the sweet story and, in Italian no less 🤗 I also purchased one of Matt Sewell’s bird books which I am really enjoying! Thank you so much for these wonderful videos, Carol. You are a very special person and creator ❤️🎃🇨🇦🍂🍁
Edit: My favourite scary movie is the original Halloween with the brilliant Jamie Lee Curtis, of course 😉

I love this brand and have three large pallettes of her paints I've gotten over time, including a few "extinct" pigments. You got some pretty good ones. Gilsonite is one of my favorites from her line, because it has some of the most insane texture in any watercolor I've tried ( even more than other true VD browns). It just needs prewetting. The azo green is not quite as bright as PY129 versions, but it's still very pretty. Warning on the Amur Black - the blue sheen faded out on my lightfastness test, but the black was ok. I recommend all of the chlorite colors, and she has many lovely greens since you like those. The only colors I'd advise against (off the top of my head) are the Prussian blue (turned into a rock and won't release any color after a while) and Jarosite (forms a hard crust that leaves crumbs in the wash). There's also one red that keeps developing a white covering in the pan. Can't remember which exactly, and I don't think it's mold. Just very odd. I've not contacted her yet about these, so it's possible newer batches are better, but fair warning. Most of the rest are a joy, though! They're great for landscape sketches.

Thank you for all the info, that’s really helpful! I don’t really mind much the fading of the interference on the black, I bought it more for the texture, but it’s good to know. I think I will end up getting more from them, the texture on the paints was really lovely to work with.
