Colored Carol
Ирландия
Добавлен 13 дек 2016
Hello there!
My name is Carolina, but all my friends and family call me Carol.
I’m an artist from Brazil (where it’s common to shorten people's names) living in Dublin, Ireland.
I’m also a vegetarian, roller coaster enthusiast, doll collector adult who never wants to grow up! I hope you’ll like the content and join this little piece of my Neverland.
My favourite things to draw (and paint) are animals, friendly creatures and generally cute stuff. My style is a mix of cartoonish and Kawaii, with a strong inspiration in picture books.
You can check out my Instagram for a closer look :)
In this channel I’ll be sharing my passion for art supplies (specially watercolour, my favourite medium), my art and a little be of me.
Thank you for visiting, I hope to see you many many times!!!

So many inspiring ideas, Carol. I love the DIY sketchbooks and your work/snake brush rest. It was so fun to see your practice lettering book too. Thank you for mentioning my 3D lettering tutorial and my course 😊 I was so surprised. I’m honored it was your favorite course. 🩷
Thank you Jackie, I’m glad you liked it and I really love your course. I’m ready for the next one!
These are such brilliant ideas, watched and enjoyed all the way through ☺☺

Just bought some of her paints when I found out she’s having 50% off sale on her paints. Her paints look amazing, thank you for the video
You are so welcome! 🤗
wow this set is gorgeous!!! have a great weekend 🥰
Thank you 😊
wish you had written names of colors with swatches
Sorry about that, they were many and I had limited space. Good news is I just uploaded a photo of the whole collection swatched and named in my blog here coloredcarolart.wordpress.com
Ahhh I absolutely love the shots you took during your trip, they turned out amazing! Your love for art is really inspiring, keep it up :)
Oh thank you! Your video inspired me to get it and you are right, it is really fun to use😊
Thank you very much for swatching these colours that I have purchased for the first time two days ago, using your code. Now I am looking forward to get them❤
You are so welcome! I’m sure you’ll love them, they’re wonderful paints to work with. Thanks for watching 😊
Mr. Burton again...😄 Last time I was at the V&A... it's been ages... Don't forget the invisible part of the shop's name: Choosing Keeping Using...😋 Thanks for the journey.
Thanks for the reminder! 😊

Lovely colours❤ i loved the musea in Londen! They are so full with inspiration 😊 i have a little printer for those photo's, didn't know there was a camera that could do it all in one😂
I didn’t know this camera either, but they’re very fun 🤩
Love your videos, big fan of your channel ❤
Oh thank you!😊 it’s comments like these that keep me going 🤗 thanks for the support
im just starting out with art and ive chosen watercolor to learn. Im curious how long you think a person starting out should paint each day?
Hi and welcome! Watercolour is a wonderful medium. I’d say paint as much as you can fit in your routine without losing the interest for it! Find a subject you like and look for artists, courses, books and tutorials that explore that so you learning experience will be more enjoyable ☺️
@@coloredcarol8074 thankyou
I like that mini palette. Have been wanting to buy one.
It’s a great palette 🤩
very cute illustrations
Thank you 😊
lovely video! thank you for sharing!
Oh, Thanks for watching! 🤗

WOW!

Thank you!
I got "Timeless Paris" from Marin Montagut, which is gorgeous, too❤
Oh nice!
❤Love it when you do a book video Carol 🎉🎉🎉🎉Thankyou! Xx
Oh thank you Elodie! Appreciate it ☺️
@@coloredcarol8074 😘
I love me a Tim Burton movie ah book... Nice collection and nice to have list for the people which insist on giving something for Xmas. 😀 Thank you Carol(ina)!
Thank you ColorSmith! Glad you liked it ☺️
Nice. I know a certain segment of Jackson’s brushes are made by Escoda … not certain about the paint but I hear they are good.
I heard Jackson’s paints are good also, haven’t tried them myself. These have a similar name but are from a different company 😉
Great video Carol! Thank you so much for the shoutout too x x
Oh… thank you!😊
tempting 😍
😋
I haven‘t heard about this brand - that was interesting, thank you!🎨❤️
You’re welcome 😊
Do you know......with food ingredients the 'most used' is always named first. I got all my paint swatches in books placed by the first named pigment, but sometimes the difference in colour is insane.... do you know if with paints the first is most used? (Hope you understand the question, I'm Dutch, so my English is not that good...)
Hi Ilona, I certainly get your question, don’t worry! I knew that about food ingredients and have often thought the same about pigments also. In the case of Jackman’s sap green though I’m not sure if the order accurately represents the mix or it’s a case of a very fine mulled pb29. The other paints I got from them containing pb29 that granulate also have other heavily granulating pigments like pg19 and pb36, so I can only assume it’s not the pb29 coming through in the granulation (also because the hue is different)
@@coloredcarol8074thank you for your reaction... I keep searching for the 'sure' answer (and ofcourse share😊)
@@coloredcarol8074 hai, I asked Helencryer the same question she respondet: At Jackson's it says : Similar to food ingredients labels, pigments are usually listed in order of predominance (the pigment used in the greatest amount first, followed in descending order by those in smaller amounts). Thought you'd like to know❤
@@ilonavandertang-vos2198 thank you, that’s good to know 😊
fantastic video, watched and enjoyed till the end ☺☺
Thank you 😊
Thank you for this relaxing video😊 The PR 48:1 is also used bij Shinhan in their Scarlet. It makes a beautiful bright orange leaning red. It is a Japanese pigment. I was sad to see,the dark go away in the desert blue😂 was hoping on a little granulation in the sap green (because the PB29)...have a nice week
You’re welcome ☺️ thank you for the info about PR48, didn’t know that. I quite like the desert blue more diluted, but I suppose if you use it more concentrated it would keep darker. I guess the concentration of pb29 on their sap green is not enough to show through, but since the other two do I was happy overall with the greens. Hope you have a great week too Ilona 🤗
❤
Not a new brand again...😄 I just got my first tube of M.Graham gifted by my local dealer for buying some Roman Szmal paints (actually two times in a week...lol) But if forced to I would buy Autumn Foliage and the Rainforest Green. Thanks for the vid.
I know… I keep getting caught myself into watercolour collection obsession. That rainforest green is chef’s kiss 😍 And you’re welcome! 🤗
Absolutely love scarlet lake❤Thanks so much for showing us Carol xx
Thanks Élodie! It’s a very lovely bright tone, I love it too 😍
@@coloredcarol8074 I painted red tulips years ago, but I want to refresh the painting, I have been looking for a perfect red and I think this red is the one🎉xx
@@elodieleaf as long as you don’t expose it to light they should keep gorgeous… I found out that PR48 is unfortunately not lightfast, which I expected it considering how vibrant it is
@@coloredcarol8074 so true. I have a very bright corridor and I should not really hang my paintings there, but they look so good in that area! Most of the paintings which are hanging there I refresh yearly😁but that's fun too. Especially on rainy days 🌧️Have a great week Carol🥰
@@elodieleaf that’s a good approach, just enjoy them for what they are 😊 you too, have a great week
Love your bookmark
Thank you 😊
Beautiful, I will have to get those to add to my deep deep light watercolour collection. I love their paints so much. The granulation. In these are superb 🥰
Indeed these have a lot of granulation and are not obvious mixes, makes for very interesting effects
I love your books ❤thank you
Thanks!
❤Lovely video Carol🎉I have been away for a few months, so trying to catch up with RUclips 😅xx
Welcome back! And thank you 😊
@@coloredcarol8074 ♥️
As soon as I saw this palette, I wanted it. Now I want it even more. So lovely. Especially the first two colors. ;0; And they all work so well together in that oak leaf!
Thank you, they are really fun to use together like that
Hurray! My favourite colour brand again! Love them so much.🎨❤️
Yay! Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
On the other side of the world, ‘lichen’ is pronouced the same as ‘liken’. Thanks for this. A lovely set.
Thank you! I’ve always hesitated between both pronunciations 🤔 glad you enjoyed it
Beautiful colors!
They are!
The last color espacially surprised me!
It surprised me too 🤩
Great reviews. I like that you showed the entire book rather than quickly flipping the pages. I’m a new subscriber to your channel.
Hi and Welcome! Thank you for subscribing and glad you liked it 😊
Oh my, they are beautiful ❤
They are indeed 😍
This was so helpful! I was hoping someone would do a swatching video on this set - it's absolutely gorgeous.
Glad it was helpful! ☺️
I love these colors! I would put them in a pallete adding DS Green Apatite Genuine, Moonglow, Lunar Blue, and a red to round out the color choices.
Why not, they’re all beautiful granulating colour separating watercolours 😍
these look so cute, what a lovely set ☺☺
Thank you 🤗

I thought that last color was going to be like moon glow, but it isn’t quite
No it’s indeed a very different one. Moonglow leans more purple while soul of the oak it’s a very dark green.
