No problem at all, I figured it would be easier for me to show in a video. Sometimes it’s hard to explain when typing it. On the super beetles theyre at 12 o’clock though. I don’t know why they ever changed the positioning. I think it’s much harder to bleed them off when they are not at 12 o’clock.
@@RJLM330 Thanks very much I truly appreciate it!! And thanks for your kindness! I don’t currently have a Super here. But I can brought it up on next weeks video and show a diagram!
If you do another video on installing front disk brakes, would you go into if you need to change the master cylinder or which master you should use if you only put disk on the front with drums on rear. Thank you, great video.
If you take the brake shoe springs off while they are under tension, I suggest using eye protection. I don't know how I did it, but when I was re-doing brakes on my '69 Beetle, somehow a spring hit my face.....no harm done, but it could have been nasty.
Very good addition to the comments, thank you very much. I didn’t even think about that. Thank you so much for adding that in! And thank you for being here my friend.
Hi Slade, big fan of your work. It helped me so much in keeping my 2 beetles alive. Just a small remark: at 19:40 doesn't the low side always has to face inwards or are there exceptions?
I have an issue with my cars brakes. When I go to adjust them, all 4 positions, there is a tight spot in the rotation. I got some new drums for at least the rear, and I changed all the wheel bearings but still have the tight spots. Not sure what is causing them, and the best way to set up the shoes. Any ideas??
I’m actually doing a video for next Friday on proper brake shoe adjustment. I’m trying to do that before I switch over to disc. It almost sounds like one of your other two drums may be out of round? It’s hard to diagnose online. But it sure sounds like it.

Thank you Rodney, I truly appreciate all of the useful tips!!!! Sometimes it’s hard when filming, to almost remember everything unfortunately. Then again that could be my age. 🤦🏼♂️ Thank you so much my friend! I’m sorry that you lost someone that way. That is very sad. I’ve heard of the best of the best sometimes having cars come down on them, and it always shocked me. I do give a shake, to the car just like you explain. But I try to be careful what I put on video, my luck somebody with shake their car off the stands 🤦🏼♂️ Haha!! I would have went to the grill with you!!! Peace my brother
Thanks!
Thank you very much!!
3:16 :D the towel scene!

Thanks! Like always these videos are appreciated.
Thank you so much brother, I truly appreciate that. I hope you and your beautiful family are doing very well.
All of your videos are interesting and no to long
Thank you very much Ron! I try to keep them as short as possible, but still include everything someone would need to know. Thank you for being here.
Another fabulous Slade’s production. Videos are never to long. 😀
Thank you my friend, I try to edit them and keep them as short as I possibly can, without leaving out information.

Outstanding! Thank you so much I appreciate you being here.
As always, great video!
Thank you so much, and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.
I double checked mine and you are correct on the cylinder location. I must have been thinking of the rear. Sorry for any confusion🤔

Love using one of those liquid medicine syringes with a big enough opening to get grease in there.
I enjoy all your videos, whether I know how or not. I learn stuff sometimes. Didn't know about the antisieze on the backing plate.
Awesome video thank you for sharing🔝💯🔝

As always you are at least several steps ahead of me. Would you please post the jacking points for a SB Convertible as I have one of those

I need those retaining clips for the adjuster stars, I can only find them at one place anyone have any insight where else I can find them?

@@SladesVWBeetle there are tight spots on all 4 wheels, even the new drums. Really annoying 😖
Wheel cylinders on later years are at 12 o'clock.
Yes, on the earlier years like this, they are at three, and nine.
I swear my super beetle was at 12 o’clock for sure.
