  • In this video Sam gets the rear brakes back in order, which went easier on one side than the other. Once he got the brakes bled, without an assistant thanks to some Speed Bleeders (or quick bleeder) brake bleeder valves, he discovered that a stock German master cylinder wasn't going to cut it with the new front disc brakes. So after swapping the stock master cylinder out for a large bore unit, our 1967 Beetle now has brakes. Sam was hoping that by finally getting the rear brakes working, and the brakes bled that he could finally take our 1967 Sunroof Beetle out for a drive. However, once he finally sat down and pressed the clutch pedal, the reason that this car originally got parked for (possibly) revealed itself. The clutch cable tube bracing inside the tunnel has broken free. This means that regardless of how tight the clutch cable is (Sam noted that the original adjustment nut was tightened all the way when he removed it) the clutch can not disengage. So...add that to the list of things to do before we can finally take this Beetle for a drive!
