  • Earlier this year, we at Sandberg Guitars had a special visit from our good friend Julia Hofer! In this video, we had a chance to sit down, discuss, and demonstrate how a Sandberg Bass comes to life from start to finish.
Join our fearless Captain Holger and Julia on this factory tour and get a sneak-peek into our process including wood selection, cutting, gluing, fretting, finishing, and our special aging techniques (including our Masterpiece Aging wizard Christian and his clever tooling). All of this to build the dream bass for Julia!
Music by Sandberg Artist and Funk Pioneer, Ida Nielsen.
    More Sandberg: sandberg-guitar...
    0:42 pick a body
    3:25 choose the neck
    10:10 what finish?
    13:06 final assembly

it's so funny that I'm playing my own Sandberg California TT and watching this video at the same time! This video reminds me so many things when I was about to buy a Sandberg bass, the configurator, the colors, the shapes, the amazing birdeye maple fingerboard.......anyway after about 4 months playing with it, this bass is an absolutely great one to play! Love Sandberg!!!

I like Sandberg basses. But I don't understand why the bridge is made like it is? Setting up intonation is gust weird!

I’m making a p bass, I’m using a paulownia body was going to use ebony as I already have a status jazz copy with a rosewood neck. Now I’m thinking maple, thanks for the info👍🏼

I very recently bought a used California TM 5 string. Very nice recorded sound, best word to describe it would be "authoritative". Has a funny quality - even if timing on the note is wrong, it sounds like it was meant to be there :)

Man, i always thought the dots were inlays, being just a - very good working foil - is a let down. Only watched that vid to see, how these "inlays" are build in.

Any reason why Julia preferred Delano pickups? I believe Sandberg Superlight basses come with Black label pickups by default...

Why no high gloss option in the configurator ? Also - I cannot find a P-Bass model.

How come the configurator doesn't have the metallic paint option for Superlight?

    Great factory tour😊👍🏻🎸
Has the body of her new Sandberg bass received some aging ( soft aged)?
Has her bass received vibration treatment, or/and thermo treatment?
    Or isn’t that possible for
    TT super light basses?😃
    Best regards Norway😃👍🏻🎸🎁

With the body being paulownia im assuming you did the grain filling, sanding sealing and priming before painting?
