    I love it, great aesthetics and warm sound. Feels like a cross between a Hofner and EB bass with a little P-Bass thrown in as a treat. Colours are great. Would love a budget version of these.

      @@leonbode1748 to keep it simple, while working at CME, I had a nice chat with Gibson USA's head luthier when they visited. I told him exactly what I wanted to see, and several months later it was there at NAMM (almost every detail we discussed) 🙂
      in fairness, everything I suggested we based on things Gibson had already done, I just suggested putting it all together and they did a fantastic job.

    @christocr Год назад +9

    You know what I like about this bass besides the cool looks and nice sound? I like that it is designed properly for a short scale (in my opinion). The bridge is near the back of the body and the upper horn strap button is near the 12th fret. What that means is that it will hang nicely on the a strap and the reach is compact and closer to the player's body like a short scale should be. The only other short scale bass that is "designed properly" (in my opinion) is the short scale Stingray--that one is a joy to play because all fret access is close and there is no reaching way out there (as with a long scale bass) to play in the first position. This bass will be the same, I'm pretty sure. Great playability. Some short scales are designed in a way that all the advantages of having the shorter scale are designed right out of the bass--so it's not much different playing than a long scale (still reaching way out for the first position). I might just have to buy one of these basses. I love a good design and sexy looking bass. And this is one of those!

    • @strangernajjar

    Pretty sure you have round wound strings on both of those, it would be interesting to hear one with flats. A short scale bass with flats has really great BASS sound, not too bright, like 60s motown and early reggae, and they have the most even frequency response across the fretboard.

    Once again making a short scale bass with a toothpick profile neck and 1 1/2 nut...
    I call this a MISS. Ya'll got close, VERY close... but the profile needs to be medium and at least a 1 5/8 nut.
    Better luck neck time though

    • @strangernajjar
      @strangernajjar Год назад +1

      play it before you call it a “miss.” the nut (zero fret) width is 39.5mm, which is about smack dab in the middle of 1.5” and 1 5/8”
      i just have really large hands, and my larger frame may give the illusion of the neck being smaller than it actually is 🎉
