Finally someone is smart enough to start making lightweight instruments. I don't understand why people think that a lightweight guitar or bass is cheap. I always try to find the lightest instruments and feel they actually resonate more than heavier ones.
It's true that light basses have more resonance and I love light basses. I disagree too that light basses do not equal cheap basses. But unfortunately I find that heavy basses have more body in terms of tone and my guess is that is why many people don't like it. However, perhaps in the earlier days without equalisers having that lack of bottom sucks but nowadays with equalisers so common as well as 3 band preamps, trends will start to change! Hopefully more light basses will appear! Though I wouldn't be so optimistic yet because I also feel that many bassists, being male, have a pride issue in boasting that they have a heavy bass...till they get old and have back issues hahahahaha
I have one of these as a P! My absolutely dream bass. Bought it at Thomann for 1,499€. Just changed the pickup for Sandberg Black Labels. People always tell Sandberg are modern sounding basses. Maybe with the Dalanos. I use my P for Black Sabbath style of music and it PERFECTLY fits in this genre. It's boutique like handcrafted and amazing looking. Way way better than any USA Fender.
Being a Canadian of Norwegian descent, I would accept either neck :) BTW, Julia... I just watched the video of you getting your own custom bass from Sandberg. I enjoyed it very much. In addition to being able to see the whole step by step process, the bass they built you is beautiful, and you looked so happy! :)
just tried my first Sandberg. So impressed! cant believe how light it is, yet such good sustain. Currently player a Shecter. very good but too heavy. I feel a purchase coming on!!
Just ordered a California sandberg tm5. I play a couple weekends a month for vox music sometimes its about 4 sets with sound check. Cant weight for that superlight bass to get here
I have a video provided by Cort and it has the Sandberg logo along with the name on the truss rod cover. I think it must have accidentally slipped through. I wonder if Cort made these at one time?
Julia PLEASE no slap bass demos!! If you only have such a short time to demo it, do some fingerstyle and/or pick playing - that's what most bass players do.
EURO OVERLOAD!!!!!! Lol jah I’m just joking I’m am from the American South/Midwest I have a FAR worse accent Seriously though cool basses look and sound great but no try out on that great green one at the end
Andrew Brent nah my point is I (meaning me no one else) has a bad accent (meaning I don’t like it. it sounds dorky) I can not throw stones or make fun of someone else’s voice. I could have written that comment better on re reading I came out shitty. I actually like their voices and have European heritage so any offense that was taken from my comment wasn’t intentional (to be shitty)
"back hurts after 3hr gigs..." *laughs in 8hr gigs with a heavy ass Spector* definetly looking to get something lighter, that superlight looks interesting
Love these basses, Holger is so Humble and Julia is lovely as always, lots of love to everybody1
"Very Nice Julia"
🎸👍
I really need a Sandberg in my life.
Gotta love Holger, he is just so into it. Great basses as well
Passionate people at work indeed ! :) // Guillaume
Cutest father/daughter bass duo!
Julia, thanks for all the bass content. It's nice to not be forgotten about.

@@dannellim11 I'm in check with my ego so i'll stick to the lightest possible ;)
People are starting to realize that lighter instruments sound better.
There's another factor: you need to make the neck and headstock lighter as well, not just the body. Otherwise you get neckdive.
It's an electric instrument.
It doesn't matter if it resonates, or not
I own a Sandberg Bass and they are incredible instruments.
This new Nighthawk Plus is soooo beautiful .... wow
Very happy Julia is at NAMM looking out for the bass players!
gotta love that German/Austrian accents
I Never expect that the interviewer actually plays bass really really well.
But that was before you knew about Julia ! :D // Guillaume

Really want a Nighthawk, but would love to put my hands on one first. Trouble is that Julia makes them all sound good. :)
3:35 oh that green 🤘🏽
Awesome presentation, great new basses. You know they are having a great time in LA gear heaven. 😂

The best German Quality👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Did he say that that bass was made out of Norwegian wood? 😎
The neck is. Body is paulownia
Nunya Bidness - yes he did. Isn't it good, Norwegian wood?
Isn’t it good? Norwegian Wood.
Black metal: Breathing intensifies
Nunya Bidness Norwegian wood, a girl named Julia, I do sense a theme.......

Should've also demo'ed that sweet Forty Eight :)
Love it... and I’m not a bass player!
The nighthawk Oliver signature sounds greatest
How would you describe the neck profile on these? Like a Fender Jazz or thicker? C U shape?
So the Basic I basically to go for that Dingwall Ng2 market haha
Light basses are cool it's possible to play tennis too 🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅
I have a video provided by Cort and it has the Sandberg logo along with the name on the truss rod cover. I think it must have accidentally slipped through. I wonder if Cort made these at one time?
How does it hold against humidity since it's a soft wood? I'm totally down with a lite bass! Since i have p bass
Julia since which age have you been playing bass? If u don't mind answering. Just curious!!! 🤗🤗🤗
😍👍
Has the dark glass preamp had success?
why do you need two pickups for a bass ?
No lionel model?
"please remove the fret dots from my fingerboard" said no bass player ever
didn't know antonio banderas had to do anything with sandberg
не знаю о чем она говорит но мне нравится)
He said “3kilo” ?
I thought he meant 3 kilograms as the weight of the bass
Both of them are from Germany doing this all the way out in LA 😂
Julia is from Austria
Julka, kup mi taki.
Ooh, she's an awful interviewer & I love her so! (Also the greatest Austrian lady bassist at Namm 20 at Samberg at this moment!)
How dare you!!
Only sixty kilos?
So then we got strandberg!?
Coming soon ^^// Guillaume
They are having a hard time not talking in their native German, just for us! Thanks
Princess 👸
Am I the only one who thinks that she is incredibly hot.
I thought it was going to o be dubbed again 😅
Julia PLEASE no slap bass demos!! If you only have such a short time to demo it, do some fingerstyle and/or pick playing - that's what most bass players do.
Leave her alone.
That's true, not many songs require slap bass.
Why not both.
