    What are YOUR favorite changes? (also forgot rein shield buff damage buff, cool but nothing I'd love to see in game, personally)

      Doom shield is a really cool and fun idea
      And the entirety of mercy's kit is way more fun than live (tho soul burn does too much damage)

      I actually like some of these rein changes and even support a couple of these in real game if they decide to add it. Rein is a special character that has to sacrifice damage for defence and vice versa. It would make sense to give him some sort of failsafe to having a broken sheild since he is forced to just attack or hide once that happens. The sombra changes left much to be desired and its fine for the game mode but doesnt do anything for me.

      i definitely hope the rein passives make it into the game in some form. swinging faster as you get more hits feels great, and getting increased movement speed when your shield is broken gives you more options for disengaging, especially when your team doesnt have a lucio.
      p.s. the widow shield is 200hp

      The tracer changes were my favorite. They were broken, yes, but being able to blink more is always fun, especially infinite blinking at spawn.

      Tracer was very fun for me, but I was surprisingly pleased with Echo. I usually don’t get to play DPS, but I immediately connected to her playstyle, even if the homing bombs felt clunky. The speed on her shift felt amazing.

    I genuinely think this mode should be a yearly thing to 1) have more mirror-universe skins, 2) introduce and test new mechanics. And I'm really glad they didn't lock it to just one map and instead it's got its own tile in the QP menu.
    Too bad this mode seems to have been made by laid off developers (judging by some of their tweets), so I'm afraid we might not get this level of creativity again.

      Yeah but pve and pvp arent completely seperare more dynamic chatachters are better for the game imo. You can make things too complicated but this is definitly not that

      @@michaeltaylor7160 It's hard to believe otherwise, it takes them like 3 seasons to finally rework a character and then all of a sudden we have new abilities with new animations in a temporary mode, if this isn't pve leftovers blizzard is severely drip feeding us with the character reworks, I get that it takes time to do this stuff, but it's not like the hog "rework" couldn't be done in 2 months if this event has this level of polish and this is not pve leftovers.

    Hey, I've re-watched a handful of your videos over the last few months and noticed that your room seems to resonate your voice around 250Hz, and it can make your recordings sound quite boxy.
    I know you didn't ask, so sorry for throwing this at you in the comments unsolicited.
    Applying a cut in an EQ around that frequency cleans up your audio a whole lot and makes that nice mic of yours suit your voice, as it should. I tested with an EQ cut at 250Hz with a -8dB reduction and a fairly loose Q width of around 8, and it accounts for your recording space very well.
    I do this for a job, so I figured whilst you're helping us with your specialty, I'd offer to help you with mine.

    The Zaria change to her alt fire sucks. Having it take half your ammo per shot means you'll never really wanna use it.

    Bastion rework was so much fun! The grenade jump buff was crazy, more mobility and no damage caused me to use it to jump around more than use it for damage. Recon mode is a lot more dynamic than his current assault mode you can use it offensively for the fire rate and movement speed increase, defensively to run away, or supportively to show enemies for your team! The ult was a little wacky so idk about that but otherwise this rework was more fun to play as and against so I would totally be on board if they added this to the game.

      I would love to see a version of bastion when he has is current form, a speedy info slow firing shotgun form, and his turret form. Have the info form and the turret form share a cooldown like Zarya bubbles so you have to choose your form.

      Just change Bastion so his turret form is weaker or has some utility outside of overwhelming firepower, like say a slow effect and 50 health changed to armor in exchange for a third of the damage, then make recon mode faster and more mobile, with a walkspeed boost like Tracer and no self-damage on grenade.

      Feels terrible in practice tho. Also doesn't fit her character at all to be more oriented to Offensive support. It's no wonder they did this for the alternate universe event where everyone is basically a different character.

      sombra, a manipulator who controls from the shadow.
      making "friends" and controlling enemies.
      fits her perfectly.
      let her keep her kit and fuse it together.
      let her hack enemies and hack allies.
      emp disables enemies, and ad some overhealth to allies.
      a jack of all trade is a master of none, but better then a master of one.

      How I can see Sombra working as a support hero, is if she shoots at an enemy who is hacked she gives off a healing aura like Brig, and maybe hacked teammates heal faster? Then they can tweak the ability lockout and status duration to be less strictly offensive, virus can also work on hacked teammates for burst healing, and EMP could have its long ability lockout changed to overhealth.

    Something you didn't mention but I really liked about Rein is making his shield into a (very weakened) Bap window. It encourages teamplay and gives Rein another consideration on how to use shield. i.e. Bastion stands behind shield getting the boost, expend shield on purpose so it breaks, chase down and clean up. It makes "just holding shield" feel more active and fun.

      I mean. I loved double shield as a bastion. But I can't imagine it's fun for anyone but bastion of tank just sits still and holds shield.

      @@MyCommentsRMaturelol I guess I am specifically talking about this in tandem with the other changes in this mode where when shield breaks it gives you increased movement speed (plus the ramping swing speed on hit). It encourages offensive use of shield and purposeful nuance around shield usage. He talked about it in the video, as of now if your shield breaks on Rein you just have to leave or you die. Turn shield break into a pseudo-advantaged state and give it the boost effect and it creates a different poke-rushdown hybrid playstyle for Rein, whereas now you can only play rushdown which is "fun", but it becomes less fun when you realize playing any other way means you just lose by default. Additionally, and I think this is something people don't really understand, tank players like enabling their teammates. Active methods of enabling are a ton of fun. Tank synergies are all about that. In 6v6, the fun of the Zarya/Rein duo is enabling the Rein to play like a psycho, while also gaining a benefit as the Zarya in raw potential DPS output. This Rein shield in Mirrorwatch has a similar effect, I am enabling my DPS to do some work, until my shield is broken, which now enables me to also get in and get involved after they've already been weakened. I think it is surprisingly (accidentally?) elegant, doesn't make him OP while also buffing him, and doesn't change the core of Rein's gameplay which should be held somewhat sacred imo. win/win/win situation.

      The boost on shield break is awesome but for actual gameplay I think Rein's barrier needs to be tweaked to make it come up a little more often. Perhaps instead of a single 1200 hp shield, it's three 400 hp shields over one another, so it can be "broken" multiple times without leaving you defenseless afterwards. Maybe broken shield layers can go on cooldown and regen even while you're holding the barrier up, but that may be too strong.

    It's so fun sticking someone with zen and just hearing that slow tick on their HP, I got quite a few tracer kills with it lol. Only problem is having no healing on zen ult gets you so much toxicity from your team for low healing numbers

    One thing thats sorta cool is that I believe the slicers can contest points. It can sort of help if you need to contest a point or stop the payload in dire situations.

    I dont think thisll be expanded. It's just changes they intially scrapped from the PvE talent trees.
    If you check the first behind the scenes for Overwatch 2, in the section of progresson and talents, you can see a skill tree for Reinhardt with the exact same passive icon on three of those trees. Granted, those properties are unknown, but one of them may have been the faster rocket swing.
    I'm not saying that the changes are bad, though I have a feeling this is just something they'll throw away once the event is over.

      It just makes me wonder how events will look like in a year from now, when used most of the pve stuff that can be used for pvp events, even if people say pve is really dead, which i unfortunately think it is, i wished they would bring back the archive events in some form, they probably have a good pve foundation to just create events like the old archive ones and tell lore stuff without being a full second pve game like they failed to do, i honestly miss those smaller pve events.

    I kinda love mirror watch. A smaller hero pool makes counterwatch feel way less sucky. Tanks feel borderline unkillable and godlike.

    I have been wondering for years now why they didn't change sombra to hack her team instead of the other way around. Speed up cooldowns, extra health, whatever... then the biggest reason people hate her is gone. It also fits perfectly with hacking med packs.

    Rein getting some sort of lethality boost upon shield break is genius and I'm mad I didn't think about it myself. There desperately needs to be some kind of dopamine reward at the end of patiently blocking for your allies instead of just feelings of vulnerability and panic.

    The Zarya changes were supposed to make her a Poke/Anti Brawl tank. Alt fire deals AoE damage while traveling, and her normal laser had a big range increase. Her other skills encouraged disengaging from the enemy.
    Overall very fun mode.

    Definitely one of my favourite OW “event” modes they’ve ever done. Actually really interesting to try everything out regardless of balance. Also a great showcase for the skins.

    The damage boost/discord change is something that I thought about previously, and I think it would work if it was 15% boost 15 DoT to make it less annoying on tanks, but more effective with dive heroes

    A few of the changes make me feel like they're thinking about adding them to reworks, like Rein's barrier break change. Tracer's bloodthirst may pop up again but for Reaper, as a change to his passive. Losing constantly available lifesteal would be a nerf but then they can increase the percentage when the passive is active, and that would also make him stronger at brawling out longer team fights instead of flanking and looking for 1v1s all the time.

    I could see some of the abilities possibly, depending on the reaction coming to future heros. I do think the rein shield break speed boost could make him a little more bearable to play. The speed pin is way too fast for main game though.

    I really like the Reinforcement ultimate. I feel like if the Slicers had a hit more health they'd be able to contribute to an active team fight, and I really like the idea of a character with summons (that isn't torb, illari or sym) where the summons are the primary draw for the character.

      The problem with Torb and Sym is that their basic kit needs to be strong since your turrets can't move and have to be destroyed/redeployed to change positions. A character who could spawn even a basic AI teammate able to move around or follow the spawner would feel a lot more fluid and allow their actual combat abilities to be somewhat lacking, since there would always be backup available.

    My favs are Ana nade, and Zen discord (if it dosent have % boost as well, or at least a low %), the Rein shield break giving speed and his hammer having a swing speed boost on hit.
    for the shield break, i think the concept applied to more tanks (a lot like Doom power-block, even though ppl just dump into that anyway cuz he becomes a snail) could be an interesting way to discourage just dumping damage into tanks, as thoughtlessly clicking for some sweet hitsounds would give the tank a benefit and if they get to run ur team down cuz of it u will get beaten in paste :) Seems an easy way to make taking damage as a tank actually feel... well, maybe not GOOD, but better. Mix this with different hit sounds & hit markers for tanks and i think it will begin to help a lot.
    the swing speed or similar things are more of a Rein-specific thing, but all i know is i hate Sym beam boosting itself over time, i think its boring AF. But holding click and it boosting itself feels so right on Rein.
    Ana u said it in the vid, but the Zen one make the DOT trigger after a dmg threshold maybe? or lock it to apply only on Zen's shots (and take away the kick boop cuz now he can just shoot in duels?)

    I think Anna would benefit from a short distance long cooldown dash. Just for the inevitability of a dive meta as a result to the game improving. Plus better rollout 🤷‍♂️

    I actually think there is something to the rein shield buff damage. Even if it was an extremely toned down version of it, I think it does a lot of good things. It gives Rein some additional flexibility and uses for his shield, interesting positioning decisions. It also promotes playing with your rein and building a more cohesive comp around it because his teammates get a tangible “reward” for doing so. I don’t know what an actual real game version would look like but I think the idea is worth Blizzard exploring

    I really like how they dissected the entire pve mode and tied certain aspects of it to limited time event modes for skins as a quick cash grab all while hiding under the guise of "it just wouldnt work" for pve content.

    I kinda like the zen changes, the harmony orb boosting the healing when you headshot is pretty good and rewards good aim and i think the poison discord orb is better and more healthy for the game maybe, its not a 'tankus deletus' button and again, rewards good aim and shooting squishy characters, i would 100% trade the damage increase for the poison, the ult is just a EMP i dont really like it but yeah i kinda like the other changes.

    The shield is 200 hp on widow, it over doubles her health pool, and she gets walls from charge, it's horrible

    While playing, I thought doom's shield was to compensate for the high chance of the enemy picking Ana and cucking you on every block.
    I just wish they documented all that ingame better. You can't see the changes until you get the character and, even then, it's mostly pretty vague and lacks the actual numbers. Ex: I discord someone, it says it poisons them, are they taking damage forever now? The hell.

    Blizz has to keep these alternative hero change modes coming. It's the only thing that makes me interested in playing the game :/
    I'm especially excited about the sombra changes, because i'm the biggest fan of enabler support sombra, even though i have no hopes of seeing ally-hacking come into the main game.

      this one is a regular balance change they introduced this season, not a change from this specific gamemode
      he's actually pretty strong in ranked rn but a bit situational and too reliant on having strong abusers like bastion. will prob get nerfed

    The changes were interesting but Zarya's just felt lazy and uninspired. A real shame since I really like Zarya. Zen felt broken (but fun) and the damage possible was just crazy. Doom is just better in this mode. Sombra being more or less another support felt pretty good because she plays more with the team (better engagements are possible) but also loses her identity a little...

    Echo was by far the most broken dps in this. Her forward boost and bombs combo 1 shot pretty much the entire non tank cast and it’s almost impossible to muss

    Hated the Widow barrier, I hope it never comes to the game. It'd betray her hero fantasy imo. I did like the weakspot idea though. I'd tac it on to her existing ult, and it's a nice little buff, but i'd only implement it if they took away her one shot ability. Which if they did that i'd then reduce the cooldown on grapple, and make Venom mine work like an Ana nade while moving through the air, and when it lands turning into a mine.
    I think the Mercy damage boost change is pretty cool, giving her some nuance as to who the stick to. Actively discourages pocketing whatever Flavor of long range DPS is currently popular so that's nice. Ult was silly, Soul Burn, could be really cool if it soul burned enemies, but revived allies, making it an interesting decision between how to use it. OFC using sould burn would have a reduced cooldown.
    I like how Doomfist didnt have a movement speed nerf when blocking. Neat feature. I also like how his overhealth transerfed to his team, Seems like a good idea to make fighting against and with a Doomfist feel less terrible. Maybe not for his ult, since it's just Lucio beat from the April fools patch a while ago
    I'd give Ana's heatshot the ability to proc healing boost on allies, and healing nerf on enemies, essentially giving her the dps passive but only when she headshots them

    Unpopular opinion, but I don’t like mirror watch. It’s super unbalanced and no one sticks together as they’re trying to get kills. Also so many new abilities just one shot you so it’s a bit frustrating

      Eh it's an arcade mode. Balance isn't something I expect. The only complaint I have is the small roster. Especially on the DPS side.
      Echo feels awful to play because of the movement change. It's so easy to accidentally feed because she goes forward rather than following your movement.

    Doomfist needs something like those Mirrorwatch changes if he is going to remain in the Tank Role; Slam and Power Block helping allies is nice, but Doomfist's ult giving Overhealth to allies is a bad idea in my opinion. I would like for Tank Doomfist's Rocket Punch to no longer stun and remove the wall impact damage as a result, Rocket Punch would do Impact Damage + slight knockback + a fairly minor slow, this would make Doomfist more fun to play against. And since Tank Doomfist would be able to actually Tank for his allies and his Rocket Punch damage would not be tied into having to hit enemies into a wall, they could overall reduce his burst damage potential which would also be more fun to play against.
    The alternative is to move Doomfist back to the Damage Role, and Rocket Punch would be Impact Damage + slight knockback (no slow, no stun), and you could incorporate Empowered Punch's AOE aspect into regular Rocket Punch so that Doomfist would deal less burst damage than OW1 Doomfist, but still be viable because he'd do more AOE damage. Rising Uppercut would be back again in place of Power Block, and in order for Doomfist to Slam into Uppercut without pulling enemies in, we could instead make him knock himself forward upon landing (holding jump as you land could increase the distance you move forward).

    Hold on now. Let's not give too much credit. These are changes for only a tiny chunk of the roster, and still no actual solution for counter swapping, particularly in the tank category.

      Idk man. I main ball and rein, and don't think counter swapping is a big issue that needs changing. More flexibility from tanks would be dope tho ngl. Just gimme 5 fire strikes if it's gonna do the same as a swing. Sounds OP, then I play orisa and I'm like wait I can melee BUT I ALSO HAVE A GUN? IN A SHOOTER? DAYYYYM

    Some people in the comments are arguing the zen changes are good, but I do not think discord needs to be more annoying for heroes like tracer and genji to play against. I think discord as is works perfectly fine against those heroes as a 1v1 tool for zen. I think the point and click dot is really unskillful and is not something we need in the game.
