  • Mooncool was cool enough to send me one of their MC3 e-bikes to try out. That means another leather frame bag to make! Seriously; you have to carry your e-bike's charger with you at all times. So until the e-bike makers design built-in chargers, I'll keep making storage bags. In this leather craft video, I make the bag then hit the trails with this two-wheel drive beast!
Viewers of my channel can use discount code "RAL100" to save $100 off over $1200 when purchasing direct from Mooncool.

I feel like this project requires significantly more skill than what the video can actually show. Well done.

thanks for watching. This was supposed to be a "quick" project for an otherwise obligatory sponsored video. But it ended up taking taking more effort than expected . . . as most projects seem to always do.

I’m sure. I dabble in leather and it seemed to me that it would definitely be more complicated then it first would seem. I would think the glue up is way more complicated than just sticking to things together

I miss living in Fort Worth. My son was born at HEB, I did construction work in Euless, Bedford and Haltom City and miss all of the fun things to do in the area.... thanks for stirring the memories!!!!

A hack of mine is I use just a touch of gasoline on end of my finger and rub on zipper.Makes zipper as smooth as butter and prevents corrosion..loved the video.Awrsome bag.

Good tip! I presume it's stiff because they're new. Maybe some oil on them? Thanks for watching!

Your arbor press looks like mine. To make it more enjoyable I put an O ring at each end of the handle to stop the banging and table leg rubber feet on the caps for comfort when pressing.

Great looking bag, very cool.. the zip looks a bit notchy to use. I'd have used a plastic one myself espescially for outdoor use.. nice job 👍❤ oh, and the bike seems pretty cool..😊

Thanks! Yeah, the zippers are brass and a little stiff because they're new. Thanks for watching!

Great close ups on the leatherwork. I'm still a newby to leatherwork. Did my first zipper just a few days ago. Sure wish I had seen your version first. Enjoyed the ride. The rattle was a bit annoying.
    🤐😆

Thanks for watching. I like to use a piece of veg-tan at the end of zippers as a stopper, and it's a pain to sew over the zipper teeth the 'standard' way.

Nice bike to go around the bag you made. I'm not saying anything bad, but that rattling noise would drive me nuts

I absolutely LOVE how you finished off the zipper ends 😍 So much easier than trying to navigate a clean curved stitch line, or finishing with an ugly boxed stitch. Thank you for sharing!
What brand glue are you using? It looks less messy than Barges.

Thanks for watching. The glue is Ecoweld Water Based Contact Adhesive (available from Tandy Leather). MUCH more user friendly than Barge or Weldwood -- I don't even use those high-VOC glues any more.

Great build. As always, I learned something in leather raft. One question, how do you keep your work area so clean and uncluttered? When I finished a project, my work area is a mess. I do have one habit or obsession and that is I always put my tools back in there assigned space.😋😎
Please Lee the videos coming, no matter the subject matter. Thank you.

lol. My workbench does the same thing. Remember I'm filming for RUclips and cleaning up between shots just to make it look more organized. . . but it's not.

Can we get a more detailed video on 3d printed inserts like the skull one but more detailed and in depth on how to attatch it to leather so it will work!

    laser cutter broken?

    • @RoadAgentLeather
      @RoadAgentLeather  5 месяцев назад +1

No. Sometimes bringing a laser into the process introduces a whole new level of complexity that just isn't worth it. In this case, it was just faster and easier to cut by hand.

i enjoy watching more when you do it by hand, as i dont have a laser cutter.@@RoadAgentLeather
